Welcome ~ One And All To CitrineOccamy's Roleplay Request Thread

First of all, I want you to be aware of what I'm looking for, what I can offer, and who I am. Instead of waxing poetic or droning on an expedition dump of my lifestyle and other details found in my About Page, I'm going to be as clear as I know how on the role-play and writing aspect of things that I assume you are most interested in. This way you can make your decision on whether we match or not as easily as possible.

I am accepting requests to role-play so long as this forum does not have the *Closed* Prefix. You may also check right here for more details, such as how many I am still accepting, and the date last updated.

FYI: At this time I'm using the Scripture Style for Writer's Sanctum.

I am accepting NO potential role-play partners at this time, as of 12/07/2021.

What I Am // Who I Am Searching For
  • Investment
    • Be committed to the story and characters; I want a long-term project seen through to the end.
    • Show up regularly to respond and plot on your own, without my prompting or reminding you.
    • Give twists, show creativity, and be equally involved in plotting; help keep things exciting and fresh.
  • (Un)Common Courtesy
    • I respect busy lives, and days there's just no desire or energy to respond... but ghosting is unnecessary.
    • It takes 60 - 120 seconds to post a single sentence, "I am busy, I'll respond _____." No details required.
    • If for any reason you don't feel like continuing our roleplay, just be respectable enough to tell me, so I can get a different partner; no hard feelings. Just be honest - this is just a hobby after all - but I am a real person really waiting on you. Have Respect for the time I'm investing, even when you understandably can't or don't want to invest your own any longer.
  • Active
    • Intentions aren't what matter. Don't agree to be more active than you are healthily and realistically able to.
    • I want regular, decent-quality replies. Currently seeking: 2 paragraphs every 1 or 2 days, on average.
  • Detailed
    • I don't expect professionals, as I am not one either. But I do expect real effort, coherency, and literacy.
    • Pay attention! Don't just ignore details or dialogue I give you. Acknowledge that you read my post.
    • I have no upper limit on post length, and I'm not scared away by walls of text, but I don't require that.
    • Provide more than bare-bones responses; what's the character's perspective on what just happened, their thoughts and feelings, their actions? Our posts can over-lap in part sometimes. That's normal.
  • Characters
    • I prefer Male main characters, but can play female side characters if required. I prefer partners interested in romance to play the Female or a (fantasy only) androgynous (no-sex-orientation) race. Outside of Romantic Pairings you can play males, females, or (fantasy only) androgynous race [examples include androids, or some Elves. Doubling optional.
    • No Mary-Sue / Marty-Stu, self-inserts, or imaginary friends.
    • No trans, No LGBTQ mains, No Bipolar, overly drama-seeking, hyper-emotional, or excessively pessimistic or tramatic characters. - It just doesn't interest me.
  • Reason
    • Avoid taking anything done or said in-character personally or as something I do/don't condone in reality.
    • Allow our characters to both succeed and fail. Don't only enjoy their suffering, nor let them always win.
    • Be open, honest, and respectful; we can negotiate, and talk about our issues & confusion like adults.
  • Creativity
    • I am not hosting your personal choose-your-own-adventure game.
    • I believe you're very creative. Share your ideas and be willing to compromise so we both create the world.
    • We are not limited to cliches, though they are welcome.
Other Rules / Expectations
  • Romance is a benefit to a story; It's not required, but can't stand be a sole motivator.
  • Romance must always be male x female pairings with adults in both body and mind, of human-equivalence.
  • Sex scenes are allowed if you don't want to fade-to-black, but I'm not into pornography. No smut-driven stories.
  • I expect more plot than sex or smut. The exact amount depends on the story and the role it plays.
  • No real-world Religions (including Atheism or science-worship) be it currently followed or not allowed.
  • Fake systems of belief can be created and used, within reason.
  • Avoid vulgar language. Mild use is allowed with exceptions: neither "Jesus Christ" nor "God Damn/ed" allowed.
  • Required Grammar: A new person talking is a new paragraph. "Speaking" ... 'Thinking' ... //Texting//
  • You are not required to format posts outside of paragraphs, but are welcome to do so, as I will be doing so.

Genres, Themes & Things I Don't Enjoy
As always, Breaking The Site Rules is not tolerated. I won't intentionally or knowingly oppose them, nor should you. Site Rules Trump My Rules.

  • Aliens (monsters or people)
    • Basic, Boring, and Hard to believe and get invested in. Creative fantasy can fill the same needs better.
  • Angels
    • Angelic Beings don't have human desires or needs; plus they're servants of a Holy God. Very unsuitable for romance.
    • There are better options to use for winged peoples in large varieties, such as a personalized take on Harpies.
  • Close Incest
    • Be it literal (by blood) or figurative (by situation / position) no incest any closer than distant cousins.
  • Demons
    • Disgusting, Evil-Incarnate, Hate-fueled, Pathetic, Disfigured, Abominations are not misunderstood, sexy, or acceptable, ever.
    • Rebellion against all that is holy and good is not sexy or fun. No excuses. Be creative instead of using Demons as people.
  • Highly Emotional, Victimized, Domineering People
    • Never Again. If you enjoy this, I hope you know it's abusive, not fun or sexy. And insanely irritating.
  • Infidelity (as a positive event)
    • No, it's not hot to fantasize about someone you gave yourself to till death-do-us-part tossing you aside because you're aging or they get bored like immature toddlers. There is no good in romanticizing or supporting it.
    • It is allowed, unlike the others on this list, however it can't be promoted as a positive or acceptably justifiable event / choice. This is something for the antagonists / villains, or otherwise a horrifying challenge to overcome, not a simple apology.
  • Real-World Religion
    • It's almost never portrayed accurately or respectfully, especially when it's not a primary focus. There's no reason to include it in most stories, and doesn't benefit the types of stories most people in this hobby enjoy. It deserves way, way more consideration and respect than being shoe-horned into being a plot device or lazy background detail "for realism" which only serves to add insinuations. Fantasy and Real-Life are separate. Using and twisting real-life religion around (often as the "bigots" or "clueless") in a fantasy setting using fantasy races or creatures, magic, or mythical otherwise is very rude, implies often negative or untruthful things about the belief system & believers, and often reinforces ignorance, anti-religious sentiments, or harmful stereotypes. Out of respect for both my beliefs and that of others, I will not intentionally include any real-world religion past or present in any of my roleplays.
  • Real-World Wars / Real or Historical People / Traumatic Events
    • For the same exact line of reasoning as directly above in "Real-World Religion" I find it very inconsiderate, short-sighted, rude, and ultimately not creative to use real-life people or sensitive events for your fantasy because - let's be honest - you're lazy. In case of people, it's not only rude, it's creepy.
    • World War I, World War II, Vietnam, Famous Historical Figures, Actors or Actresses or YouTubers, and 9/11 are examples of the type of things that are not beneficial or necessary in any roleplay with me, nor do they do anything a fictional made-up war / person / event cannot do much better with just as much if not more impact in our fictional, fantasy story. There's just some things to set aside as special to honor those who actually went through things - usually so we don't have to and so we have the privileges we do.
    • You can roleplay these themes to try to understand or experience even a tiny piece of such events without disrespecting and spitting on the real-life struggles and trauma real people really went through by using a real event with real devastating outcomes as a lazy plot device for your amusement. Fantasy is amazing. We have untapped creativity; let's use it. This is just about honoring and respecting others lives over our own entertainment.
  • Sex-centered / Porn
    • Yes, we know how it works. Round peg, Round hole. It's not complex. It gets boring and repetitive fast.
    • Sex scenes with purpose or as a characteristic is one thing, but being the reason for the story... not for me.
    • I do not want to be involved in fueling sexual fantasies. I don't see it as appropriate. If you do, just don't do it here.
  • Zombies
    • Overdone, Disgusting (not scary) in media, ultimately a poor and non-creative monster / enemy. Rarely represented properly.

Current Cravings & Plot Ideas
* Symbolize Favorite Ideas

Mythical Beasts, Betrayal (changing sides), "Villains" Side, Mageocracy (where magic-wielders govern non-magic-wielders), partnering with or becoming hybrids in some form (see humanoid fakemon for example), humans evolving or adapting or changing into non-humans, fictional world where people level up and advance forms/abilities as if in a video game.

Things like magic rites, rituals, Lunar Lords and Solar Queens don't exist in the normal, modern world. At least, Muse A didn't believe so, until they stumble upon a strange ruin / relic while cleaning out their deceased relatives house that - unintentionally - summons one of the Celestials to their side. Then, they realize that the world they know is a lie. In truth, everyone in any position of great power or influence has the mythical powers and person of a celestial being on their side. Some Celestials are benevolent, some tricksters, and some Chaotic... yet Muse A just unintentionally summoned and initiated a pact with Muse B, the most Chaotic one of all... Muse B may want to take over the world, and may be known to sponsor dictator-types in ages long-forgotten. But they're very persuasive... **I will play Muse B, Muse A will be human at first, but can be transformed or gain abilities into something else early on in the story if you don't want to play a human**

A tragic event has a small selection of people waking up in a fantasy world (or being reincarnated into that world at 18+, potentially with a backstory in-fantasy-universe they don't remember or know at all, where they quickly discover the world has levels and a system that functions like a video game. They also see an indicator no one else can see that marks them as "reincarnations" or "from the real world" and have to solve the mystery of how they got there, which life is real, and if they would want to leave their new world anyways. What will they do with the ability to become so much more than human?

During a college trip* a few of the students* were messing around and accidentally "broke" a part of a display, but didn't tell anyone for fear of getting into serious trouble. However, starting that night as they each fall asleep, they awake to share the same dream. They dream they're in a fantasy world. This goes on for several nights, but when one of them finds a "soul stone" that is absorbed into the person's body resulting in them being able to take on a different form with different abilities... they realize it's not a dream when the sign of the soul-stone remains, as well as faint traces of the power. They realize this "other world" is not only real, but a part of their own long locked away. Now, it's up to them to either free it, with all it's dangers, into their world, or protect it, keeping it hidden and both worlds safe, or even destroy it. [*could also be archeologists during a dig, or a vacation shared by distant family-friend acquaintances, a class reunion, etc...]

Muse A's family is a family working against the non-humans that hunt human-kind in the shadows. Despite being brought up to see the monsters as a danger to be removed, Muse A has been having strange symptoms they've been trying to hide from their family, so far to a success. Muse B, however, was raised as a human specially selected to lead into a new age, where humans are subservient to the magical races once lost to time due to their in-fighting... but now those so-called "monster races" are banning together under a common crown, Muse B. Little do they realize, Muse A and Muse B were switched immediately at childbirth - with the help of magic - to help facilitate this process. Muse A is secretly not human, and Muse B, while "human" hold the secret the hunters have kept in their blood: they're not normal humans either, but sorcerers.

A secret child of the King is denied after the King's death by a sibling that has a legal right, but is otherwise unsuited to the throne. So this secret child comes up with a plan to get the kingdom, but has to make a deal with a rather unsavory and suspicious character to do so, unintentionally making themselves a villain(ess) in the process. (Dragon x Royal, Monster-Shifter x Royal, Djinn x Royal, etc)

Muse A is quite lonely after being betrayed by their ex and humiliated very publicly, ending in a horrible break up. [Or, optionally, a personalized backstory to escape from.] To get away, they move out to their friend's relatives semi-abandoned old property quite a long ways away. To their surprise, however, this property turns out to be more than it appears: after living in the abandoned property for a week or so, Muse A starts noticing strange happenings of the most pleasant kind. The broken things are repaired as if by magic, and technology slowly stops functioning. They discover soon the property exists in a timeless field, and is in fact not abandoned at all, but instead houses (one or a few, optional) semi-imortal being(s) such as Muse B, who harbors quite the interest in Muse A and how they arrived at their home / at their time. **Variations include time-travel, betrayal by friend, prophesy, etc, anything we can thing of. Being could be vampires, or a similarly inspired being, or whatever else we want.

Fandom Options (usually AU and/or OC, some exceptions)
* Harry Potter

Usually original main characters in an alternate timeline, but I do love the Malfoys. (Note, I'm not a Gryffindor, and can't play the true Gryffindor very well. I'm a Slytherin, but I absolutely love Hufflepuff...) I can't stand Hermione. Not a fan of cannon-Harry either. If we play in this universe, I have the idea that Household Spells (and other general every-day background easy spells) as well as some Family Magics can be taught at home or through tutors, along with things like Magical History, and Magic Theory - or else there's a separate school / location for underage students, starting at 11 years old. We would join the Hogwarts we know and love after passing our OWLS at 18, and be sorted, Hogwarts picking up on teaching serious and more versatile or obscure magic from there. Same for other magic schools. Our Hogwarts Experience ends with taking the Newts. That way we can have the Hogwarts experience 18+. In this version, Witches & Wizards live twice as long as Muggles, to make up for the time lost learning all this magic the first 25+ years of their lives. Otherwise, our other option is all play in this world will be POST Hogwarts.

* Pokemon
I would love to experience a Pokemon Adventure with Original Characters (because all cannon characters other than James suck or are boring). To keep things 18+ (and, you know, not arguable child neglect?) a person learns about pokemon and their care, battling, breeding, and stuff during school, but they can't become trainers or legally own their own Pokemon until they are certified, which is at 18. Hence, we start our adventure as adults. Details on the world can be ironed out between us. Changes to pokemon can be discussed.

* Zelda
Majora's Mask, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword are my favorite games. Windwaker and it's sequals are my least favorite. I don't like the newest one(s) including MARIO in the universe. Gross. Breath of the Wild is a Zelda themed game, not a cannonical Zelda game, and while very fun and addicting is overexaggerated in my personal opinion (but there are things I like about it... or at least things that amuse me). The Yiga Clan are stupid... if the concept exists, fine, but they're not clowns and goofy. Ghirahim is unapologetically evil, but he's highly entertaining, my favorite villain (and character). This is one I would be most interested in keeping cannon characters, and not using original characters, as this franchise is about the characters and not the world. Also, needlessly to point out, we'd just say whatever world / story line / original incarnation we choose to use are 18+ as nothing needs to change by aging up the characters... and it makes more sense anyways. Maybe the Master Sword has been destroyed, plunging Hyrule into darkness, and Ghirahim is a broken sword spirit that is changed by the betrayal of his old master, and the Hero must partner with him to restore and turn his broken sword into a new, light-powered Master Sword in oder to defeat Demise / Gannon this time. Gender-swapping Link and Zelda are possible in this sort of plot, optionally.

Hello! I would be delighted to be a willing and capable role play partner for you. I enjoy a lot of your theme ideas and even some of the fandoms. I am leaning most of my interest towards your fantasy and Medieval themes. I have an idea for one if you are still looking for someone to partner with.

I am Open, looking for one, maybe two more roleplays, depending on the plots chosen and how quick or slow people are to go back-and-forth. Feel free to post here or send me a PM if you are interested. Tell me what you're interested in, specifically.

The early inner sanctum member gets the plot-bunny.
