Late May 2018, just over a month ago, I joined Inner Sanctum and have yet to introduce my self so here I go.
I started with role-playing back in the mid1990s I was fresh out of high school and was also active in amateur theatre and improv. The role play I have participated in over the years have been varied some romantic in nature some protect the world from this evil secret society focused on world domination. To give an insight into my tastes, my personal reading has often rotated between science fiction, fantasy, romance (Yes that involved the occasional bodice ripper and Regency from tame to X rated) as well as world literature.
The forum type of roleplay is new to me. I have roleplayed in Second life and the many different instant messaging platforms that have come and gone. I think I like the format of forum posts giving me the chance to take my time to reply as well as being fast enough for an occasional back and forth rapid-fire writing. So for all my characters have been OC for each story and most have been male, not ruling out female characters, but I think for now I will at least for significant characters stick to what I know.
The reason for me to look for a place to roleplay again now is that I needed a creative escape from real life as well as a place to get over my fear of writing. I am dyslexic, but with the help of a mixture of tools, I think I have now found a way to at least write mostly spelling error free. I will mix up British/American English, as English is my second language, and may have a comma or semicolon in the wrong spot but that will be it.
What I am looking for in roleplay is simple I love to create a story and in doing so explore people and what drives them. I prefer to write 3 to 5 paragraphs unless the characters are engaged in dialogue then they can be shorter.
I don't have particular genres I would like to work in but would prefer, with some exceptions here and there, to limit the amount of smut. Sex and sexuality are topics I enjoy exploring but more from the emotional sides of the characters than the physical mechanics. As I from real life experiences am most familiar with straight relationships, I write my characters from that point of view, but if you have a great story idea and you would like to roleplay a different pairing, I am always willing to try.
I will try to post daily but as I work full time and have a life outside of roleplaying a few days can be in between posts. I will let you know it it is going to be longer.
