I'm Duchess and I've been writing for as long as I can remember. I've been collaborating with other writers for the better part of two decades and I'm searching for new partners after a long career related break from anything resembling creativity.
The things I'm interested in writing:
Urban Fantasy.
Medieval Fantasy
Dystopian/Apocalyptic
Supernatural Romance (Dragons, Werewolves, etc)
I greatly enjoy world building and in depth character development. I am not a big fan of writing fan fiction though there could be exceptions if the story idea was just too good to pass up. If I were going to writing something in that fashion it would probably be along the lines of:
Christine Feehans' Torpedo Ink series
Lora Leigh's Breed Series
Harry Potter
Mercedes Lackey's Valdemar series
Supernatural (TV)
I just recently finished Patrick Rothfuss' The Wise Man's Fear and Stephen King's The Stand (for the third time) to give you an idea of the things I enjoy reading and would enjoy writing.
I can and often do post upwards of 1000 words at a time when I am writing on my own. It isn't a hard and fast rule for a collaboration, though I do like depth. Spelling and grammar are good things but are less important to me than good content.
I enjoy a good romance though my idea of "good" might differ from others. I don't mind writing "smut" if the story calls for it but it will not be the end all and be all of my writing collaborations.
I look forward to getting to know everyone!
