I let people know about my social anxiety by presenting It as something to laugh at. It gives me a sense of comfort. If i make a joke of myself before anyone else can, I wont have to worry about people making fun of me. They'll just be laughing at the me I've made of myself. Turning my need to over-explain myself into an elaborate self referential caricature places a barrier between me and the imagined danger of an interaction or introduction gone wrong. A wall a thick as comedy, made to keep laughter away from the joke I've think I'll become.
I'm not a very outgoing person.
If you explain a joke well enough does it loop back around and start being funny again? I hope so.
I like writing because it helps me sort through emotions I didn't know Id be slogging through at three in the morning. I'm completely new to role-playing but I'm fascinated and eager to learn! This site seems like a wonderful community and i cant wait to get to know it better!
