I don't know what I was thinking, downloading what is essentially a story-telling app with my muse lurking anew after such a long time away from writing. Do I regret it? No. Do I desperately need help hotwiring the ol' brain and jumping back on board? Yes!
If my introduction and title isn't a dead giveaway, just yesterday I downloaded the game 'Me Chat' and consequently have found myself itching for a story. I adore many of the characters, but Phoenix Miller - the sweet and gentle, ginger soldier - snagged my heart chords instantly. I've loosely created a character who I'd like to play and ship with him, and I would like to add that if you don't know his character well, or really at all, that's fine! I'm just as open to writing with a separate, military branch -based character. My direction with the story follows two childhood friends, crossing paths and eventually rekindling the unadmitted feelings they had for each other, years after they've stopped talking. I am open to plotting a ton of additional pieces to what can be our story!
Sailing by on another boat entirely, I have two varying, original characters, DaEun and Ollie.
DaEun is trouble. She didn't start off on the wrong foot, born in Korea as an only child to two loving parents, but she definitely veered far off the beaten path in her early years. Shortly after she and her family moved to America, where her father found a much better job, the country's bred hatred and racism seeped into young DaEun's life, troubling her-- and as she grew further from herself, her family, and her heritage, challenging her. Fast forwarding through years of chaos, she is much different than the helpless, uprooted girl from before. Now you might say she is vile, being quick to anger and ready to fight. She is cold, and merely existing for the chase of a high, be it found in/with someone else or whatever substance she can get her hands on. With DaEun, I do have a general direction for her story, and it can start either before or after a certain incident in her life, taking place either in the USA or in Korea, freshly after she moves.
Note for DaEun: I have a slight fxf preference in her ship, as I've been getting fruity vibes from her for some time and wanted to explore that side of her. That being said, male counterparts are also welcome! I mostly just want to write my beloved baby! In addition, if anyone is familiar with or fond of the KPOP (any Korean music, really) "community", it is within my interests to pair her up with either a troubled and rebelling artist, or one who is just trying to have fun and happens to tie themselves up with the wrong person (her).
And now, Ollie! Despite being born into a loveless relationship, Ollie grew up very much a romantic, all thanks to her father. The two travelled together separate from her city-bound mother, moving state to state and only rooted to one another. She found her education through her father, who taught her not only the popular curriculums, but how to cherish life and find success in herself, instead of an inconsistent and fluid society. She was an adventurer, a dreamer, with an eye for the future and an ear for only the best stories. And though she so freely experienced all of earth's smallest gifts, she could not keep herself distanced from reality for forever. She soon became a victim to the same inconsistency she challenged before, and had no choice but to leave her beloved life and move in with her mother. Ollie found herself rooted and lonely among her mother's ladder, a big city full of modern theories, hierarchy, and emotional rot. Mindless games of Follow the Leader, Simon Says, Duck Duck Goose. Still so young in this advancement of her life, she struggled to find truth within her father's teachings, battling the reality she was met with, and grew into her own theory of creation and concept. Now, Ollie is an aspiring actress. She's been berated and harassed into bitterness, but she knows what she wants. She strives for a golden image and household name so that she creates her own identity and reality. However, before she finds such power, she's got to make a name and a footing for herself, so she isn't purely sexualized or patronized.
Note for Ollie: She is strictly open for male counterpart. With her story, I'm looking for someone to play a 'co-star' in her most recently cast movie, however said co-star being an up-and-coming heart throb, who may be wholly unaware of the industry's imbalance, that's up to you. See, Ollie's typical casting is short-lived and often villainized as mistress or 'sleazy', and despite her talents that's all she manages to land because of her appearance. She's tossed aside, easily written off as a pretty face and nothing more.
To wrap all of this up! Assuming you've read through everything (or whichever portion you're interested in), I want to kinda run over my interests in a writing partner. I've been doing this for a long time, and in majority my very accidental break was due to the difficulty of finding a consistent or wholehearted literary counterpart.
I'm looking for someone who writes multi-para+, though I do understand simple dialogues can take a toll on length and ultimately it's quality over quantity. It's also important to have literacy and a love for the craft, because it's hard to keep the passion going if it's unmatched and you're running a story on your own, dragging someone's character along. Plotting and fangirling has always been a favorite of mine, from plotting pending drama to discussing the viewpoints and curtained feelings of characters. And lastly, the best thing about story-writing with others is creating a diverse, dynamic universe that can submerse you in the story, emotions and all!
I hope to hear from at least one of you, or many of you, because I really do miss writing with others! I've done so since I was a sad, sappy little fetus, and it just helps me feel like myself. Regardless, have a good day, stay safe, and tip your server!
