Eden is the first planet discovered to have intelligent life aside from Earth with an atmosphere and gravity being similar enough to support humans. YC is sent to this planet as part of a research team, with military backup to protect against potential threats.
The mission: Make contact, collect information, and send it all back to Earth.
The problems: All contact with Earth is cut off and the team is stranded on Eden. While this world's natives are fairly primitive worship a race of extraterrestrials who aren't fond of trespassers. And MC is an outcast from her people who gets caught stealing food from the camp.
