Any sharing ideas

So I haven't actually role played in the better part of 4 years aside from a few short DnD campaigns. I need to get my creative juices flowing. I am open to pretty much any sort of Role playing and I do have a few things i want to try out.

- I can adapt to pretty much any type of writing, but I'm more comfortable keeping it at around 2-3 paragraphs.
- I'm not really particular on how my partner writes as long as they are okay with how I write.
- I don't have great grammar but I do make an effort to try to make what I write look good.
- I'm pretty okay with violence/nsfw in general but I don't like it getting too intense.
- I do prefer LGBT themes as far as romance goes. specifically FxF. Regardless of romantic themes or not my character most times will not be straight.
- I usually stick with using original characters



Things I want to try out:
- Pirates
- Murder Mystery
- drama
- daily life
- paranormal

I am also open to other ideas! Lets brainstorm!


Things I want to avoid..:
-incest
-rape/sexual assult
-kinks (depending on what it is really)

This is definitely subject to change once I've had a bit more experience. Again, I haven't role played in a few years. So this is definitely a refresher for me and I'm not quite sure about what I'm best/comfortable with aside from the obvious stuff. I hope you guys can bare with me and I look forward to exchanging Ideas!

I think it would be really fun to play a murder mystery type thing! I'd be interested to play a partner in a detective agency or something! I also like Pirates and Paranormal stuff, preferably paranormal slice of life. Please let me know what you think of any of these! I'm pretty flexible, but I do definitely prefer to play female characters. I also prefer to keep it non-sexual, if possible.

both of those sound like great ideas. also i dont mind keeping it non-sexual. im interested in hearing about what kind of paranormal topic you are thinking of. i have kind of a broad knowledge in ghost/demons. i know a little bit about some folklore.

i am also interested in hearing more about this detective agency!

Well, I haven't played a vampire character in a while, so I wouldn't mind playing out the daily life of a vampire. I also think playing a demon or something along those lines seems fun. Maybe, two paranormal friends living in a city together and trying to get through life or something?

I've been sort of kicking around the idea of a detective agency for a while as well. Just like, a group of friends are sort of not fond of the way the law does things where they live, so they start a detective agency to actually get things done or help people. Or, they're just really nosey and they want money.

Let me know if you have any ideas to bounce off of these, or anything to add! I'd love to start one, or even invite other people to whatever we come up with! <3

ooh. i kind of like the detective agency plot. I deff think it would work better with a group of people so that theee are varying personalities. you mentioned maybe detectives wanting to help people and get stuff done, or detectives just being nosy and wanting money. but i think there would be a lot of fun controversy and discussion towards whats moral and what isnt if there were both mindsets in that sort of setting. maybe even a a few people kind of leaning more towards vigilante. and i dont know too many people on this site but i would love to start something with that!

as far as the paranormal goes. ive never really tried any plots containing vampires and im not sure that i would be able to fit the role too well. though i think a plot containing a vampire would be interesting. or more or less any sort of human skinned humanoid. ive never role played as a demon either but i think that dabbling in it would be awesome.

The detective agency would, I think, definitely have to be a bigger group, maybe a thread where people can show up to have us solve a mystery, and have other people play possible suspects or other people in the place we operate, so we can investigate and gather clues and interrogate and whatnot.

I'm pretty open to anything, as I haven't roleplayed extensively outside of DnD for a while, so I'm dying to stretch my legs!

Pretty much the same here. Aside from DND I haven't really role played much at all for the past 3 or 4 years.

Two paranormal friends in an apartment sounds like an amazing idea. especially if its anything like What We Do in the Shadows. Like theres this whole community of humanoid creatures living secretly in society and two people from that community happen to live together.

the detective agency sounds like it will require a bit more thinking and planning

No I like the idea of a present day city setting!

Also I do think it would be a good idea to brainstorm a bit more with that detective roleplay. And we could create a thread recruiting people. I know theres forum for recruiting groups of people rather than one on one. Im not sure that a lot of people look through it though. Im kinda excited about it haha

It's okay if you're busy! I know rp isn't everyone's first priority.

I think the detective setting could be really any time period. If we do historical, I'm not going to be able to be super-accurate, but I don't mind playing it! I think maybe we might need it to be a place where there's a really high crime rate, where the cops are really known for being corrupt. Like prohibition-era Chicago type things, where just about everyone is living outside of the law. I think that the detective agency could be about trying to get the right thing done, even if it means working outside the bounds of the law, or even working against the police at times, since they are known to be corrupt. We could be helping people with real problems caused by people paying off the police, that type of thing. People who wouldn't normally be helped without the agency. There could also be slice-of-life outside of the agency thrown in: interpersonal relationships, daily struggles, moral conflicts, etc. I think that the criminals, victims, law enforcement, detectives, and all could have their own personal reason for doing things. It would be interesting to see rp from all points of view.

Then, if you're interested in the vigilante debate, there could be elements thrown in to involve that. For example, the PR department of the law enforcement agency could run stories slandering the agency, saying they're just criminals in disguise, etc. If we expand it enough, there could also be revolutionary factions working against local government, and things like that. Let me know what you think, and feel free to PM me!

I'm just going to put this in here to denote interest in the Detective setting, especially prohibition Era. I think it'd be a good setting to practice a few different characters as "side" pieces.

I'm also going to throw in my hat for a pirate setting @SeraDev , if you have more specifics worked out I'd love to hear them, if not we could sort that out.

i do have a few ideas regarding the pairate setting i wanna throw out there. I was thinking of a settikg where two oposing governments have these privateers that heavily also obviously participate in piracy and keep themselves under the guise as a pirate so other pirates dont suspect they are kind od forcably working under their government which is obviously a no no. At one point these two privateers/pirates meet eachother. it would be interesting to see what goes from there. i also want stuff like pirate lore and superstitions to be incorporated more in it. could i dm?

I'm always a fan of reading into what I'm roleplaying so incorporating lore and superstitions would be great. I like the idea of privateers trying to keep a low profile with other pirates. You are more than welcome to take the reigns.
