Description: Being the oldest of 6 children and having had his father die when they were all relatively young, it only makes sense that Sunny's naturally grown to be a bit of a...well, a bit of a carer. By nature, Sunny wants to take care of everyone, and he's definitely a bit of a mother hen. If you want to be his friend, constant "have you eaten? here, share with me"'s and "are you okay? you're being kind of quiet"'s come with the territory. Though he's perfected a sort of listless, aloof veneer, entirely capable of acting as though he's unaffected by anything and unattached to anyone, the truth is that Sunny cares about everyone an awful lot. He enjoys making people laugh, is always willing to provide a shoulder to cry on, and is the sort who would be more likely to help a long-time enemy in a time of need than to turn his back. He's ferociously dedicated to those he loves, and has made quite a bad habit of compartmentalizing and ignoring his own issues in order to provide for others. Anyone who knows Sunny can tell you that it's no surprise that he wants to work with kids; he adores them, and with his prolific imagination and friendly core, he's particularly good with them.

Just as important to Sunny's character as his naturally kind heart is his creativity. Sunny's been creating art since he was old enough to hold a paintbrush, and there's not a doubt in anyone's mind that, if he felt it would be a reliable job, he'd pursue art as his career. Though painting is always going to be his main passion, as he's aged, Sunny's branched out into other mediums: pencil drawing, whittling, and playing guitar being three of his other main forms of artistic expression. Outside of his unfortunate status as the only openly gay kid in town, his artistic tendencies are probably what Sunny's best known for. He's admired and mocked for it in equal measure, with his peers often being reluctantly impressed by the talent but prone to teasing him for it being a less typically masculine hobby.

Unfortunately, growing up poor, not white, and not straight in an extremely conservative small town has made Sunny's inherent openness and friendly nature dangerous, rather than beneficial. That aforementioned listless, aloof exterior? It was absolutely developed as a defense mechanism. Sunny's long since learned to keep his guard up and not to expect anyone to be on his side. As such, Sunny represses his instinctively outgoing nature and makes a conscious effort to keep everyone at arms length until they've proven themself, and that reflects in his behavior. Though he's incredibly sweet to those he trusts, most of Sunny's peers know him to be distant, quiet, and distinctly sharp-tongued. Every other word out of his mouth is sarcastic, and he's learned to take every kind word spoken to him with a grain of salt. In short? Description:
Having only had one son and 2 daughters, Spencer's father was always hard on Spencer, training him from a young age to play sports and be in good shape. His sisters got shopping trips and treated like princesses while he got 5am wakeups to get some extra time on the field with his dad. Despite always being treated differently, Spencer never resented his sisters, they were always good to him and tried to help him when they could. Growing up his dad had never been overly affectionate with him. Whenever he drank, which was too often, his dad would yell and scream at him, occasionally trying to start a fight, hitting Spencer with enough force to bruise. Spencer never fought him back, he knew it would only make things worse. With his sisters and mom standing by, he learned to go to them whenever he needed help with an injury or with schoolwork.

When he was 14 his dad tried to re-direct his aggression towards his younger sister one time and immediately wound up with Spencer's fist in the side of his face, the only time he'd fought back. Shortly after Spencer's father seemed to disappear, only periodically coming back home. From that point on Spencer took on a protective and guarding role in their family. Things eventually went back to normal without his father in the picture and Spencer continued with sports and school, determined not to end up like his father. Even with him gone his father's harsh words lingered in his head, things like: "Don't be a wuss!" "You're such a girl!" "You're so gay!". For the longest time Spencer resented those words, trying so hard in his own mind to not make them true. He worked hard at being a good athlete, student, friend, and more. There was one aspect he couldn't control however and it was the way he felt about women and men...more importantly men and how whenever he was hooking up with a girl, he was struggling to even stay hard.

With his academic and athletic commitment Spencer was soon a popular Linebacker for the Golden Ridge football team the Golden Eagles. Spencer was suppressing his thoughts about liking men, deep down he knew it but couldn't admit it even in his own headspace. Every time he went to his psychology class he couldn't help but think about the cute long haired guy in the back, he wanted to approach him some days but assumed he hated him after some of the things Spencer had been apart of. Spencer's charm and warm bright smile had always attracted friends and girlfriends wherever he went, his calm and relaxed nature always seemed to put people at ease.

Growing up the way he did, Spencer learned to be a really protective and caring person for those he cares about, this also means he's not afraid to get into a fight for those he cares for and is fiercely loyal. Despite everything, behind the classic jock mentality and stupid jokes, he really is a sweet guy who cares deeply for others and just tends to get caught up in the craze of being with other athletes who like to cause trouble. Spencer refused to talk to anyone else about him questioning his sexuality, in a town like his it was always such trouble and was like a target on your back. Spencer knew that he had to act straight and he was scared to see how people would react to finding out he's gay.
