I never would have thought that I'd be writing this. Especially not about this place. First because I never thought I'd be "one of those", but when you win a free trial from a work raffle, you do all sorts of things.

Okay so whatever, on to the review of "Future Endeavors".

First of all the astethic is a little bonkers when you first come in. The place looks like a retirement home for six year olds, but I guess that's a bit fun.

I will say Betty, the front desk receptionist is the BOMB. At first glance I was a little worried to walk up to her. She looked about a hundred and fifty and like a strong breath might blow her off her seat, but the second she lays eyes on you and starts to check you in, you can tell she's got some metal to her. Not to mention she makes you feel like her favorite grandkid from the second she opens her mouth.

Anyway, so there's that and then things don't get more normal from there. The waiting room they move you into is a little less elementary school and much more "here have a comfortable chair", which was nice as you sit in there for a bit.

After you finally get taken back to your "experience room" well, I'm not sure if they set them up based off the questionnaire you fill out before your appointment or I just got lucky again, but the room was completely to my comfort and taste. I'd guess it was more about what they learn about you, so that you'll be at ease when they come in with the equipment and start hooking you up.

Like I said at the start, I didn't think I'd ever do this kind of thing, but once I was offered the chance to see what life would be like twenty to thirty years into my future, well, it's hard to pass up.

I can't say that it's one-hundred percent accurate to what my life will be like, but it was great to see that the dominant parts of my personality only seem to take greater root in my forties.

I loved getting to see that what they say about caring about what people think of you does kind of slip away. It doesn't go all the way away, I think I'd need to be a more confident and secure person and personality to have that happen. But by my fifties it was great to see that the things I love now were still a part of who I'm predicted to be.

I ended up leaving my two hour session with a new perspective on my current life as well. I can't say I'm fully changed, that I'll give up trying to fit in or make people happy, but I think I'm more comfortable letting my weirdness out with those I am close with, and encouraging them to do so as well. I hope I don't lose this feeling, but I'm sure that's why they try to sell you on the return visits, to remind you of it. Gotta say, I think I'll be saving up to return again- if not soon, then at least in the next couple of years. I'd like to see if I'll be as cool as Betty when I'm her age.
