Pie Spiderfoot walked into the Missing Minotaur with a sense of wonder, but also wariness. While most of the city Everlund seemed to be pretty well regulated by the elves , orcs and other races that lived in the forest bound city, this neighborhood was a little more sketchy. He walked to the bar and hopped up on a seat, eyeing a rougish elf that seemed to be openly inspecting him for anything of value. Pie sighed in relief when he shrugged and turned back to his drink when he failed to notice anything shiny on the little goblins person.

It was due to this shifty elfs attention that that the strange clicking from in front of him startled him to attention. Before Hime was a bug like person wearing a leather apron and wiping off an ale mug. It had four arms and was covered in armor like plates that clacked together as it moved, but not nearly as lound as the large mandibles that were clicking at him to get his attention.

~* What will it be? *~ The thoughts planted themselves directly in his head.

Pie thought his request back and waited. The insect person tilted their head and a tin membrane slid over the large multifaced eyes.

~If you are trying to think your answer, it doesnt work that way. Use your words.~

Pie gasped in embarrassment. "Oh I thought ... I thought it was like wisp, you know, never mind. Do you have Honey Mead? I wanted some but the other Taverns and inns all serve fancy elven wines and stuff that I can't pronounce. They said I should go here, " He whispered the next part, which wasn't really a whisper since even as he stood on his chair, he was still more than double his size. It was almost as tall as Miss Nyxia who was an 8 foot tal Top Shelfer. "Along with the other rabble." He looked around to see if anyone had heard him and the elf to his right was snickering and a woman in dark leathers with long black hair on his left was just shaking her head at his obvious attempt and failure at stealth.

"I don't know why they would say that, it's pretty rude." He sat again. The insect barkeep just nodded and turned to prepare his drink, seemingly uncaring.

The woman next to him leaned over. "Don't mind Betty. She means well, I just don't think she was around people much. The Thri-Kreen, that's the name of her kind, they talk right into your head, but you still have to speak back to them." She shrugged. "As for what people say about this place," she gestured to the assorted rabble of rough and tumble patrons filling the room, "This is where people that aren't welcome anywhere else in town go to drink." If you had a purse, I'd tell you to watch it, but it looks like you keep everything in those neat little pockets. " Pie noticed the woman's lavender colored eyes as she winked at him slyly.

Pie pulled his cloak a little more tightly about him as Betty came back with his drink. "Oh, you warmed it! That's even better! Thanks Miss Betty!" The insect woman Just nodded again and went back to her tasks at the bar.

"So you know why I came in, what brings you in here all alone?" Pie asked her as he happily sipped from his mug. "Oh, My name's Pie! Hi there!"

The woman dipped her head, spilling her hair over her face momentarily. "Lilah. I came," she sighed heavily as she tossed her hair back over her shoulder delicately, Because I was hungry." She smiled knowingly.

Pie didn't know though, so he asked, "Oh, is the food here good?" She laughed and slapped the table a few times.

"You're funny little man. I am hungry, but not for the stale bread and old cheese on the menu here. I'me looking for something a little more thrilling. I'm came to find a nice lass to spend the night with. "

Pies eyes widened, and this time matched her knowing grin. "Oh! I see!" He glanced around the room, then looked around again more slowly. "Uh..."

Lilah groaned. "I know. None. Not a single one besides Betty."

Pie patted her hand gently. "That's too bad. Have you thought about ... " He trailed off, but looked toward the bar.

"No! No way. I don't even know how that would work." She shook her head, as if to clean the image from her mind.

"My girlfriend would probably be ok if you wanted to stay with her ... and me... tonight if you aren't exclusively interested in ... yeah. Unfortunately we are staying at her parents tonight and her dad is already on my case a bit for dating his daughter. I thought elves were open and all free love, but this sea elf, he was glaring at me worse than some of these shady guys." He thought a moment. "I'm not to worried though, her mom is really nice and I bet she'd sneak us in the back door if you wanna come ..."

Lilah laughed. "Sorry little man. I was looking for something a little ... different tonight. It was sweet of you to offer though."

Pie was finishing his mead at this point and the comings and goings of the other patrons were beginning ot unnerve him. He pulled a coin from his pocket, without fishing around.

Lilah, with a gleam in her eye, watched intently. "I see. I know your trick little man. " Pie smiled as he hopped off the stool. He turned to her, ready to take his leave.

"Are you sure? About coming over I mean? Or are you going to stick with Betty? I had a crush on a goliath woman once, her name was miss Nyxia. She was so pretty, she had black hair like you, but it was so curly. It never happened though, she knew this arch fey, and there was no way I could compete with that."

Lilah shuddered. "You know what. I'll come with you." The lithe woman practically leapt from her seat and took his hand and pulled him towards the door. "Your girlfriend is cute right? I really don't want to spend tonight alone ... so maybe I'll double dip on the menu after all."

Pie smirked up at her as they headed toward the door. "She sure is! Miss Aleita is beautiful, with long hair all the way down! You'll really like her she is fun, and gets really freaky in the ... Wait, you sure you're not just trying to see where I keep my gold?"

Lilah laughed again, a musical gesture of mirth. "Gold you say..." She smiled. "That makes this even more of a saving grace than a night with Betty. Seven foot tall women deserve to be eaten too. Just not insectiod ones."

We have Miss Croia to thank for the finishing line.
