(magic, friends > enemies > lovers? Hero/villain dynamics. MxM or MxF)
The world is divided into two categories. Humans and sorcerers. And sorcerers are again divided into two; those with magic to help, and those with magic to hurt. MC is one of those in the latter category. His magic was unique, though dangerous. The ability to hurt whoever he wanted, by staring into their eyes and digging into their emotional pain, he could extract that pain and make it physical. How could a child born with such power even imagine being good?
Well, the answer is YC. Childhood bestfriends, YC is everything good with the world and helps MC navigate through life, staying on the light path. Although, when they start their time at the magic academy, the two are segerated into their respected groups. One group learns to expand their magic, learning new ways to use their magic to help those in need. The other group learns to keep a lid on it, conceal and control. With this huge gap between them, will YC still be able to keep MC from following the path down dark magic? Or will YC be swallowed whole and join?

MC is a lawyer, ruthless in his ways. He's textbook workaholic, and always finds himself in tricky situations, where companies want to build in wildlife reservations, sacred lands or community centers and he's usually hired by the big guys with the boulders. He was a hard negotiator and doesn't give up until the job is done. One day, he's hired by a big company who wants to even out a building YC likes or works at. Who will win this time?
