Hello everyone! I'm Yonaka Tsuki (obviously), but you can call me Aka for short. Or anything you want, really, so long as it isn't too insulting. I'm not picky about nicknames. Anyway, I'm new to this site, but I'm not at all new to RPing (I've been doing it for oh, about 12 years now), and I'm definitely not shy when it comes to putting my plot ideas out, so I figured there was no reason for me to waste time in getting my request thread up! Now, I'll kick things off with this warning- both of these ideas are based off of animes/mangas I like because, you know, why not? (Edit: Just added a third idea that isn't anime-inspired! So for all of you out there who aren't into that, I now have something for you. Yay!) So I prefer anime-style elements, and inspiration photos, that sort of thing. I'll also be specifying which animes they are, just on the off chance anyone has ever actually watched them. However, my intention is not to write anything canon, so you do not have to anything at all about said anime to write the idea! That said, here's a little about me, and my expectations.
Ahem. And now that I've got all that not-so-fun background stuff out of the way, why don't I get on to the actual ideas, huh?
Whew! I think that about covers it for both ideas. Sorry, they're a bit long. But anyway, if anyone is interested, message me, and I'd love to write with you!
- Just occurred to me that I never addressed my availability! So... The most I will ever promise my partners is a rely a week. Will I often reply more frequently than that? Sure! Might I sometimes even be able to get out multiple responses in a day? Occasionally! But I don't promise anything more frequent than that. Also, please do not bother me for a response unless it's been at least a week without a reply. If you bother me before then, it's going to make me less likely to reply, not more likely.
- Talk to me! Communication is a huge deal for me. Huge. I like to talk to my partners, and not just when we're setting up the story. If you have an idea, or aren't happy about something, tell me! And if neither of those are the case, feel free to come up with something to chat about! My inbox is always open! And the more I get to know my partner, especially outside the story, the more I'll enjoy writing with you.
- I'm usually a multi-paragraph writer. Often at least three decent sized paragraphs. I can even write quite a bit more than that, when inspiration strikes. So yeah, I can write a lot. I'd love to find partners who can match that. I'm adaptable, though, so that isn't necessary or anything. However, I do require that my partner write at least one paragraph. And lest you think that's picky, I still go by the middle school 2-5 sentence minimum (depending on sentence length- if the sentences are really short, I'm going to want like 5.) I simply can't handle less than that, because it doesn't give me anything to respond to, short of my characters just interacting with each other. And if I just wanted my characters to interact with each other, I would write solo. Seriously, I'm not mean, honestly, but if you can't manage one paragraph per post then we just won't make good partners, simple as that.
- I like to think my writing level is, well, pretty decent. I still make mistakes, of course. Everyone does. But I would like to request that my partner at least make an effort to keep up with proper spelling and grammar. Even if it's something as simple as running your post through a spell-checker (some browsers even have them built-in now!), avoiding text speak, or just plain proof-reading your posts, anything will help. Constant errors will distract me from enjoying the story- it's a weakness of mine. Obviously, I don't expect perfection, especially if English isn't your first language. But just knowing that you're trying will go a long way for me!
- Plot versus smut. A lot of people on here talk about plot to smut ratios. I'm not going to. Why? Well, I feel that my view on that is something that's a bit more complicated than a simple ratio. I'm someone who will always put story progression first. My writing focuses heavily on plot and character development. If there's romance and the characters work well together, can smut happen? Sure, why not? But not until we've had time to set the story up and get a feel for the characters, and not at a point in the plot where it doesn't make sense. Simple as that. As long as it makes sense in the context of the story, though, I'm fine with it.
- On the topic of smut, what am I into? Well, I'll be honest, I'm not the most experienced at writing smut, mainly because most of my writing is so plot- and character-centric. However, I can say that I'm open to trying just about anything at least once. The only things that are a hard no for me are bathroom play, anything involving permanent injury/death for sexual gratification (for plot reasons is fine), or anything that is against site rules. Other than that, I'm probably open to it, unless it for some reason doesn't suit the plot idea.
- I prefer to write as female characters. Why? Well, because I'm female myself in real life, and it feels more natural. That doesn't mean I don't write as male characters- I can, and will if circumstances call for it. But I prefer not to, and will almost always have at least one strong female lead. That's why this is in the "Females Seeking Companions" section.
- Shall we talk about pairings now? Obviously I marked this thread as being mxf, and there's a reason for that- that's my preferred pairing. I can sometimes be talked into fxf, but you'll have to have some good ideas. And ladies out there, if you want to propose a female character of your own to be played against a male character of mine, you'd best be prepared to double. I find that if I'm stepping outside my little comfort zone to write a male for you at your request, it's only fair that you do the same. I'm not one of those people who is picky about the author being the same gender as their character, so that doesn't really bother me.
- Multiple Characters. Something you'll learn about me real quick is that I almost never have only one character. It would be extremely rare to see me limit myself like that. Hell, it's not uncommon for me to have 3, 4, 5, sometimes even more than 5 characters in a story. After all, what book have you ever read that only has 2 characters? I feel like that would be the most boring book ever. So yeah, I like to collect an obnoxious number of characters. That does not, of course, mean I expect my partner to keep up with me. It would be nice if my partner could write multiple characters, say two or three, and I wouldn't complain about more if they're comfortable with it, but that isn't required! If one is all you're comfortable handling, I can fill in the other roles. Because as you'll find, my ideas call for... Numerous characters.
- Angst! Angst is life. Angst and drama are staples of my writing. If you want a happy, cheerful story, do not write with me. I think I am physically incapable of doing it. There will be a lot of deep, dark emotion. My characters will have troubled pasts. And bad things will happen to them throughout the story. That's just how I role, so be prepared for it...
Ahem. And now that I've got all that not-so-fun background stuff out of the way, why don't I get on to the actual ideas, huh?
This idea is based off of an anime/manga called Akatsuki no Yona, or Yona of the Dawn, since I've seen that some places only list it by the translated title. And before anyone comments, no my name has nothing to do with the title of the series. I used this name before I ever read/watched this. They just both happen to come from similar-sounding words in Japanese. It's a coincidence... This is a medieval-type setting with fantasy elements added.
The Kouka Kingdom. A land populated by five different tribes and held together by the king, leader of them all and appointed only by the agreement of all five of the tribe generals. In previous decades, wars with the three neighboring kingdoms made things a bit turbulent, although Kouka seemed to come out on top. Then it came time for the king to choose his successor. Everyone expected him to select the older son, a strong military general. However, to the shock of all, he instead chose the younger son, a pacifist who hated weapons, and it was the younger son who became the next king.
Now , many years later, Kouka kingdom is a peaceful place, although not everyone is satisfied with how that peace was obtained. The kind placated the other kingdoms to avoid war, even going so far as to hand over territory to them. Meanwhile throughout the kingdom conditions have not necessarily changed for the commoners, despite what the naive and blissfully ignorant nobles might believe. All in all, it's a hotbed for unrest.
But the kings only child, Kouka's Prince(ss), doesn't of the situation outside of the palace walls. They have never been allowed outside, and as far as they know, things are great! They're about to come of-age, and their cherished cousin, a childhood friend, is visiting the palace for the event! However, their world is shattered when, on the night of their birthday the prince(ss) visits their father's room, only too discover their cousin standing over his body, still holding the bloody sword he'd used to murder him! And of course, now that they have witnessed the crime, they'll have to be killed as well.
However, just before they are struck down, they are rescued by their bodyguard, another childhood friend of both their charge and the cousin, who manages to get the prince(ss) out of the castle, where they escape into the night, knowing full well that they will be hunted down by the friend who has betrayed them both. On their journey, they decide to visit a priest, exiled from the palace long ago. When they find him he tells them the legend of Kouka's founding.
Legend says the Red Dragon God came down from heaven and made himself human, becoming Kouka's first king. However, people eventually stopped respecting him, and even betrayed him. Just as he was about to be killed by them, however, the four other dragon gods intervened, wanting to save their brother. They urged him to return to his dragon form and destroy the humans. However, the red dragon refused, saying that he was human now, for better or worse. Since he could not be persuaded, the four other dragons instead gave some of their blood to four human warriors to drink. This blood gave them the powers of the dragons. The white dragon warrior received the power of a dragon in their right hand, and gained claws that could cut anything. The green dragon warrior received the power of a dragon in their right leg, and could jump high into the sky. The blue dragon warrior received the power of a dragon in their eyes, to see across far distances. And the yellow dragon warrior received the power of a dragon in their skin, becoming resistant to injury. The four warriors were tasked with guarding the king, and they did so for the remainder of his life. Once he died, they knew their powers were too great for humans to handle, so they scattered and went into hiding, disappearing from history.
Of course, then the priest goes on to tell the prince(ss) and their bodyguard that they must find these legendary dragon warriors, and insists that they exist and still live, despite doubts. And tells the pair that they will die without help, so they eventually decided to take his advice and set out to find the dragon warriors! He also urges them to take the helper who lives with him. They may not be a warrior, but they're skilled in practical tasks such as medicine and cooking, much more so than the pair that spent most of their lives in the castle. And so they set off on their epic journey that will change the future of Kouka Kingdom!
Obviously, this is a story that will require a lot of main characters. There will be seven in total- the prince(ss), the bodyguard, the 'helper' character (for lack of a better word), and the four dragon warriors. All characters will be at least 18 (er site rules- they are main characters, after all), and will preferably fall somewhere in the 18-25 age range, although they can be a bit older if you really want. As far as the dragon warriors, they aren't the original ones. Instead, the power of the dragon is passed from generation to generation. I can go over the specifics of that with whoever decides to take on the idea.

This idea is based off of an anime/manga called Noragami. It's a modern fantasy story.
The setting is modern Japan. A normal, modern city. Or so it seems. But there is more to the world than meets the eye. What the living cannot see is that beings of the "Far Shore" still roam this world. These otherworldly spirits are not meant to be here, and yet, for various reasons, here they remain. The most common type of these Far Shore beings are the Ayakashi, also known as phantoms, which take a wide variety of forms, with their most common feature being the multitude of eyes they all sport. These are the malevolent spirits of the dead, which have escaped from Yomi, the land of the dead. They have little to no personality left, and they cannot be seen by the living, nor can they interact with the setting. However, they whisper to the living tempting them to follow dark paths, be it through theft, suicide, or even murder, they seek to corrupt the living and turn them to darkness.
So what are people to do, with this supernatural menace that they cannot see or detect threatening their existence? Well, truth be told, there isn't much they can do. Luckily for them, though, there is someone who can help- the Shinto gods. There are many of them, for a variety of different purposes. Gods of fortune, knowledge, war... Visit their shrine, or in this modern day and age simply call their phone number, and leave them an offering, and they'll help you out. And one of the things they do is dispatch the Ayakashi. After all, if they don't do it, nobody will. This is, of course, especially true of the gods of war. After all, gods are born of people's wishes.
But there's a type of god we haven't talked about yet- Gods of Calamity. Gods are born from people's wishes, and not all wishes are good. Gods of Calamity are the ones who grant the bad wishes. Be they gods of misfortune, poverty, or death, they bring disaster wherever they go, and the things people ask of them are, well, unpleasant, to say the least...
Gods can be killed, sad to say, but if enough people believe in them, they will be reincarnated. Same god, but they do not retain the memories of their previous incarnation. However, if not enough people believe in that god... Well in that case, death is the end of the road for them. Now what do gods look like? Well, to be honest, they look just like normal people. However, normal people don't usually see the gods. Oh they can, if the god draws enough attention to themself. But the best way to think of it is to go into a restaurant. At the end of the meal, do you know how many waitresses are in the restaurant? Or do you simply not notice them all? Gods are like that- it is simply difficult for people to notice them.
But of course, these gods have a lot of jobs to do, so it would be hard for them to do it alone. They need help, especially when it comes to fighting the Ayakashi. After all, how are you going to fight these dangerous creatures without weapons? So the gods need Shinki. Sometimes called Regalia, this term means "tools of the gods" because that is exactly what they are. However, they are also spirits of the dead. No, not like this:
That's still just an Ayakashi. Shinki are different. They're people who still wanted to live, who haven't given in to their inner darkness yet. As such, they are generally on the younger, more innocent side. They aren't easy to come across, but when a god does find one, they can name them.
Shinki have one true name, a kanji character. There are two different pronunciations of that kanji character. One is used for the shinki's human for, the other for his instrument form. In addition, "ki" is added to the end of the name of their instrument form, to indicate that it is their instrument name. Each god has their own ending that they add to the end of their shinki's human names, to make them seem like a family group.
Now as I said, gods name their Shinki. This is because Shinki do not remember their past or their true name. The god who names them will get these memories, but they may never share them with the Shinki. If the Shinki were ever to find out about their past and their true name, they would turn Ayakashi immediately, effectively ending their existence. Thus, all information about their life must be kept secret from them, as well as the fact that the gods even know about their lives.
Now, there are two kinds of Shinki that are different from the rest. First there are Noras. These are Shinki that serve multiple gods. As such, they have multiple different names. They are generally looked down on, because it is believed that is they serve many masters then they cannot really be loyal to any of them.
And then there are Hafuri, also known as Blessed Vessels. These are Shinki who were willing to sacrifice everything, even their very existence, to protect the god they serve. And remember- Shinki are people who still very much wanted to live. So this willingness to sacrifice their lives to protect their god is a huge deal. Once they do this, it generally changes their instrument form slightly, and they become much more powerful. However, this type of Shinki is very, very rare.
Thus, the gods use the Shinki, in their instrument forms, to fight Ayakashi, as well as any other threats. If a god is touched is touched by an Ayakashi, they become blighted. What does this mean? Well, it first shows as dark patches on their skin, and if left untreated it can spread and eventually kill them.
Thankfully, the cure for this type of blight is pretty simple- you can wash it off with purified water from a shrine. Just like that, crisis averted. There is, however, another kind of blight. If a Shinki does something they know is wrong, they will blight the god they serve. This blight is internal, meaning it comes from inside the god through their Shinki, so it can't simply be washed away. Instead, the Shinki has to be punished through a ritual called an Ablution, which can only be performed by three other Shinki, since it takes humans to judge the crimes of humans. If the Shinki is not punished, or fails to repent during their Ablution and continues down that path of darkness, they will become an Ayakashi, killing their god in the process, unless that god releases their name.
This about covers the basics of the setting. The exact progression of the plot would be up to us to decide. Obviously all characters would be 18+, per site rules. Shinki tend to be on the younger side, since they are still pretty innocent and not corrupted yet. However, there are exceptions to this. Gods can appear to be any age. Depending on how many characters you feel comfortable writing as, we would follow either one or two gods and their shinki. Any farther details can be discussed with anyone who is interested in the idea!

Genre is low fantasy. Setting is, well, just about anything other than high-fantasy or the viking era (and in that area of the world- can be around the same time!). I mean, literally. You want medieval? Sure! You want Victorian era? Why not? Modern? Let's go for it! We could even go into the future, tend toward sci-fi and all that. It's honestly very open. The only qualification is that it's a setting where the magic isn't common, and the majority of people do not believe in Norse mythology. Well, there's the concept of the whole "nine worlds" thing where strange things and magic are more common in the other worlds, but in the human world, not so much. Cool? Good. Now, onto the good stuff.
It was a pretty typical day for her. Going out, travelling around, looking for dead warriors to bring back with her. But hey, that was normal when you were a Valkyrie. That w as her job, to collect the souls of the honored dead and bring them back to Valhalla. And it was going as expected, until she came across a giant. Now that wasn't good at all. They usually stayed in the other realms, not Midgard, not here in the human world. And humans had already gotten caught up in the carnage- many were already dead. So of course she had to kill it. There was no other option.
But during the fight, everything changed. Because she found someone. Someone with an aura she couldn't help but recognize. A demigod. They were so rare nowadays, in this world where no one believed in the gods anymore. But still, godly blood could be dangerous. Because those beings of the other worlds like her, they lurked in the shadows, and they could sense divine blood just as easily as she could. They would come. She couldn't just abandon this demigod to their fate. No, now that she knew of their existence, she would have to teach them the truth, and show them how to protect themself.
In case you couldn't tell, I would strongly prefer to write as the Valkyrie here, although if you're convincing enough you might be able to talk me out of it. So I'm looking for a partner to write the demigod here, someone whose parent is a Norse god. Doesn't matter which god. Doesn't matter which parent. I'd prefer the demigod be male, but again, not necessary. They wouldn't be aware of their heritage, or the fact that Norse mythology is real. So yeah, it's all about them learning the truth and training to protect themself, plus a good deal of action and adventure. Maybe some romance as well. This is one of my few ideas that doesn't require a bunch of main characters, but there may end up being some side characters, depending on how it goes.

Whew! I think that about covers it for both ideas. Sorry, they're a bit long. But anyway, if anyone is interested, message me, and I'd love to write with you!
