Give me royalwhump I need all of it.
Two kingdoms at war, one loses, it's overtaken by the enemies, the ruling family is slaughtered all but for one person. That one person becomes both a trophy and a puppet-ruler to keep the natives at bay- they can't rebel knowing that their only surviving hope will be harmed, but they are still trying to fight for their freedom resulting in their true ruler getting hurt.
(Bonus points if this is fantasy.)
