Hello! I used to roleplay a LOT a few years back. Life got busy and stressful though. I have a little more time for myself now and I'm really trying to reconnect with hobbies that brought me joy in the past. If you're a girl or non-binary and want to play a male character, it does not matter to me!
Anyways! About the roleplaying, I love romance! Always have. I usually like to develop a plot/prompt with my partner and then we can create our characters from there. Back in the day, I developed a full profile with photos from Google I felt captured my character so we could do that, but just like a brief breakdown of your character is great. I feel like they'll develop more over time in the plot anyways, but just a sense of who they are is a good start.
I'd say I'm pretty descriptive and I enjoy writing in first person, but I'm flexible! I'd love to hear your ideas. I'm more of a slice of life writer, but I am open to a little fantasy/supernatural. By a little, I mean like if one character was a vampire or one of them had the power of invisibility. Something not too crazy, but just interesting enough to make a cool plot! Here's some romance trope/story ideas (that are by no means super original, but they're just fun!) to get the ball rolling:
Enemies to lovers - work rivalry, a prince and princess from different kingdoms, two contestants on a talent show of some sort (oooh or a reality tv show lmao).
Childhood friends who moved away from each other and they end up back home and one of them is in a relationship, but they can't deny the connection they have and it gets messy, but also a little steamy hehe.
high school sweethearts, but the guy leaves to follow his dream of (singing, acting, becoming a politician ((LOL idk about that one, but whatever your heart desires)). Now the guy is back and he finds out the girl had his child and never told him she was pregnant.
I also loved the book November 9th by Colleen Hoover, and it would be cool to do something like that plot. Essentially about a couple who meet on November 9th and decide they wont see each again until November 9th the following year and it continues as such. (might be a short roleplay, but could have a nice beginning and ending!)
A coma character who's a ghost and the other character is the only one who can see them might also be fun!!
I tend to follow the flow of my partner's writing as well, but please no 1-4 liners. I like nice paragraphs that move the story along and let me get into the head of your character (: I feel like it's also important to break up paragraphs when you write, I'm not a big fan of 1000+ word blocks of texts. Writing 1000 words, so amazing!! but sending it all in one block, makes it difficult for me to concentrate. Not saying you have to write 1000+ words right away, but I think a good indicator we've found our groove is when we start reaching those word counts. Let's just see where it goes naturally!
I also understand that you have a life so please also understand I do as well. I work full time so while my hope is to be able to write to you more often than not, there may be weeks when I do not get to write until the weekend. On the frequent side, I'll write back everyday, on the less frequent side, it may wait till the weekend. I'm pretty chill about your life getting busy too so if you want to let me know you wont be able to replay in a hot minute, that's cool! If you don't reply, I'll just assume you're busy though lol.
If you've read this far, and you're interested in a roleplay with me, send me a PM and we can discuss! Thank you! I am also EST if that's important to you.
