"I keep hearing about some of you that are worried... Worried that the lifestyle we're living here is gonna get you locked out on the wrong side of the pearly gates, cuz' it ain't a sinful life if you ain't having a good time, right? See... That's what I never got. Why would such a stand-up guy like God want you to not pursue the fun stuff in life? Sex before marriage? Drinking your fill? That's all stuff you like doing, but feel a little guilty about because some stupid- Because the Bible says so. I don't buy it. I think most of you do, though, so tell me. No wrong answers, what does God do? You there. That's right, he forgives. Well, why's he gotta forgive what is apparently our God-given right? Someone else. He provides! Yeah, that's a good one, provides what? Because when I see people coming through these gates, they don't look too provided-for to me. You know who really provides for you? Who takes care of you, made this way of life a reality for you? Me. While the people stuck in their little rat-races, those damn sheep that work for the man, sit at their dining tables with not enough food and pray for more, I'm helping you plant another patch of crops. When people on the street are out begging for cash, just to scrape by enough to have a roof over their heads, I'm building another shack to shield you from the rain. I have given you all of this, and yet, some of you still have the audacity to doubt what I do here! But that's fine. Because some of you see the truth, and I know the rest of you will eventually come around. Some of you see this place for what it really is. This... This is Paradise. This is the Garden of fucking Eden, y'all are my Adams and Eves, and baby... I am God. Only difference is, there ain't no fruit forbidden to my children."
-The transcribed word of Reverend Pryor, leader of the Baskerville Commune, April 17th, 1977.
Please take exactly NONE of this seriously. My intention is not to offend or alienate anybody on this site, nor are these my personal religious beliefs. Please read on before assuming that I've suddenly decided to become a cultist and want to use this as a "platform" to spread my message. This is NOT that, just a little backstory for a group RP.
The small town of Baskerville became the unwilling hub of the short-lived Escapism Movement of the 1970's, started by a young preacher known unofficially as Charlie Pryor. (No such man exists, according to conventional sources.) Immediately following the Vietnam War, Pryor and a "troupe of young women" arrived to Baskerville with an inordinate sum of money, and despite lacking the proper legal documentation, proceeded to purchase a tract of woodland area adjacent to the main road into town, and less than a mile from the city limits. For over a year, the land was left untouched, as Charlie and "his girls" moved from one gracious household to another, thanks to his uncanny ability to "talk his way in anywhere." While his female companions held up odd jobs all over town, reportedly working 16 hours a day, Charlie was often heard on the local radio station, speaking an hour a day about the plight of man and of God's teachings.
On October 12th, 1976, all four of Charlie's original female companions, as well as two local girls, Wendy Schmidt and Charlotte Philipson, were all found with slit wrists in an abandoned home by Pryor himself, who then called the police. He was suspected to have taken part in the mass suicide, but no evidence supported the theory. Even after he was compensated for the life insurance policies he'd taken out on all six of the girls. After this, Charlie resigned from his daily segment at WBVR and returned to the land he'd bought, which began to receive shipments of building materials quickly after his leaving.
In December of the same year, he mailed WBVR a recording of his voice, along with five thousand dollars and instructions to play it every hour. The recording was an invitation to his tract of land, which he now called the Shelter. To the people of Baskerville, he promised a place free of judgement, where one could do as they pleased without the judgmental gaze of their peers. Those who were curious enough to arrive were greeted by the site of a glorified campground, with nothing but a few tents set up and piles of building materials making it difficult to get around. Very few people understood then the value of being permitted to do whatever, whenever, on private property. In the months that followed, fueled by the sending of more recordings, more and more people chose to make frequent visits, indulging in heavy drug use and bisexual trysts. Some chose to stay with Charlie, throwing away their lives and "escaping" to one with less responsibility and more freedom. This campground grew, to the point that Pryor registered the land as a commune, and had over 30 people living in the area with him.
When the local news chose to do a story on the newly dubbed Baskerville Commune on April 17th, 1977, Pryor was subjected to many skeptics and judgement of the way of life he provided. And when it came time for his live interview, he disregarded the newscaster and instead chose to deliver his now-famous speech to the public, in which he made his first claim to godhood. He was mocked, but in the weeks that followed, people from all over town, and even the country, came to hear the word of their new God.
The year is now 1979, and Pryor's influence continues to grow.

Height: 5'5"
Weight: 130
Build: Lean, toned
Skin Color: Lightly tanned, peach
Hair Color: Blonde

Role: Believer
Bio: The world has always been know to be a cruel and unforgiving place, survival lay reserved only for those lucky enough to have been born both strong and adaptive, the weak left to rot in the soil to serve a better purpose in life. Although Sandra was one of these fortunate souls, she was far from considering herself fortunate. Abandoned at birth without a mother or father to call her own, Sandra was raised by her older brother for most of her life, the endless amount of benevolence and guidance from his part perhaps the sole reason she was still alive in the first place. During this period, without much money to call themselves to, her dear sibling taught her many crucial skills such as hunting, combat training, basic medical knowledge, and of course...religion. While held to a high regard within her brother's understanding, Sandra was far more skeptical to say the least. For how could she ever be expected to put her faith in an all powerful being that wouldn't even dare to show itself? The world around her is constantly filled with the ill and suffering, the so called blessings of their all powerful God never touching the lives of those in need. Yet still they were expected to have faith, to expend their time and dedication to His bidding in the hopes they will be granted a peaceful afterlife that wasn't even guaranteed. And so she turned her back to the very beliefs she was expected to abide by, choosing to view the world and knowledge within her own eyes, eager to seek out her own purpose within the world outside the reach of some unworthy God.

Height: 5'7
Weight: 120
Build: Lean/Toned
Skin Color: Lightly Tanned/Ivory
Hair Color: Light Brown
Eye Color: Brown

Bio: Georgie was raised in a strict, Christian centric family for all of her life. She was allowed all but 2 friends in their small town, as she was taught to focus the majority of her time with school and extracurricular activities. She was raised to be someone else's daughter, meaning that being her own person wasn't what her parents were looking for. Georgie was to be the spitting image of the perfect, straight-A, Christian girl if not, she was surely reprimanded and punished. Her father was controlling and manipulative, brainwashing his eldest daughter to lead a life of purity and sophistication, but she was never to be self-inclined or independent. Treated as a rag doll, she had had enough, she wanted to experience what her other friends had; love, fun, and freedom. Feeling trapped in the walls of her own home, she discovered Reverend Pryor and his teachings at the Commune grounds and sought to escape her treacherous life of a shell in hiding to follow the ways of Reverend and his people.
