Hello everyone! My name is Wren and just like everyone else, I'm here for plots! I am never really sure what to write in these things, so forgive me if it's all just a jumble of words and doesn't make any sense. TLDR; I like fantasy stories, MxF pairings, and any plot lines that will make me cry like a baby.
I've been role playing for a little over 10 years and consider myself super experienced in the realm of RP. I am an author - my first book was published in October! With that said, writing is my favorite hobby and I use it as a way to unwind after my hectic work days, so I like to keep things super casual. Fair warning before you decide to write with me, my replies may sometimes be a little slow if life is especially busy. This is due to a number of reasons, but usually it's because I work in a hospital and people like to call me "Dr. Wren". I will try my best to get words out to you as quickly as possible though and I adore OOC chatter, so feel free to send me a message!
My favorite genre is Fantasy (Low, High, Urban/Supernatural, etc.)
My intermediately preferred genres are Sci-Fi, Space Opera, and Cyberpunk.
My least preferred genres are Real Life, Historical (without a fantastical element), Horror, and Dystopian (Including zombie apocalypse - sorry).
I don't know much about anything outside of urban fantasy, so don't expect me to be super well versed in anything DnD, Space-whatever, etc. If not knowing details or having a solid structure in the genre is a deal breaker, I'm probably not the best partner for you. With that being said, I can promise you unlimited amounts of creativity, and I'll probably toss you some curveballs as we write our story. That's just how I roll.
I like strong male characters to play opposite my female characters. I also enjoy playing a variety of character types myself - from the strong world saving she force to a dainty, unsuspecting princess that suddenly finds herself in a new and unexpected situation. I also appreciate flawed characters, characters that are not traditionally beautiful, and characters with more substance and depth than a piece of paper.
- Someone that meets me in material quality. I am a multiple paragraph poster (4+ per reply on average) and ideally would like to find someone that can keep up with me, but I will not shy away from writing with people who prefer shorter replies as long as I have enough substance to work with.
- Assistance with story progression. Plotting is a two way street. Please don't make me direct the show alone. If I wanted to write a story alone, I would just write my novels instead.
- Your gender does not matter to me. I am here to write, not to worry about if you are a male, female, neither, or both. As long as you stick to my preferences and are friendly, we will get along great.
- Politeness, Flexibility & Patience. As you can see, my life is a little chaotic, but that's what makes it fun. Sometimes, I will reply as soon as you post for me, but there are other times where it might be a week to ten days before I can find the time to truly sit down and give you the words you deserve.
- Willingness to test writing boundaries. I need a partner that is going to push me as a writer, whether that is throwing me a world and giving me very little to work with so I have to develop it along with you or tossing me a uniquely dark, emotional story that will make me cry, scream, and laugh.
- I do prefer story over smut. I do not RP sex-heavy storylines often, but I have been known to dabble occasionally. I will definitely, 100% write mature scenes, and I am not a prude. However, I have very vanilla interests myself and I am not looking to write extremes in any capacity. Feel free to ask me for more details if you'd like and I will provide them. I typically go into stories with the intention of letting my partners drive this detail of the story so as not to make anyone uncomfortable. I'm relatively easy going and do not mind stories with or without mature scenes.
- Other specifics: I can play a singular character or multiple characters in a story. All romantic pairings should be MxF. I can play both male and female characters, but I prefer to play female characters. I won't shy away from writing a male character if you have an idea in mind so please send those to me as well!
TBH - The more heartbreaking the plot, the better. Make me want to sob in my wine glass as we plot together and write the most angsty masterpiece you've ever experienced. The following are flexible plots and hopefully, they'll give you some ideas of what I am interested in. I am always open to hearing plots that you have created as well.

HIGH/EPIC FANTASY PLOTS
- I LOVE story lines that are 'high fantasy' in nature. Bonus points if my character can be a human. Extra bonus points if you don't care that I am not well versed in weapons, armor, or even DnD. I'm fast learner and if comfortable with my writing partner, will gladly ask questions before I reply to help with these knowledge gaps.
MC's husband was a captain/commander that died in a war and fought alongside YC. MC wishes to seek revenge on the people that murdered her husband and sets out on a journey, dragging YC along with her.
MC is a half-elf who was raised by her father, a human merchant. They settled in a major human city when she was a young girl, and she grew up next door to a large family with several sons and one daughter, who became her best friend. Her father's health began to deteriorate, and MC was charged with running the family business. But unknown to her, her father was also arranging a marriage to one of her best friend's older brothers. It just so happened that it was with the older brother that she could not stand. The news gets dropped on MC and she runs off, leaving her would be husband at the alter. YC would be him, the jilted man, and unfortunately for MC, he really needs a wife. The two will find themselves on some to be determined adventure that will take them away from home and force them to work together to return to it.
MODERN/URBAN FANTASY PLOTS
- I'm do enjoy a good supernatural story line, especially if angels, demons, or werewolves are in it.
- I hate vampires - it will take a damn good plotline with an exceptionally good writer to get me to write one.
- I love playing humans. I like to write the fluffy, squishy characters.
- PLEASE NOTE: I have not been in much of an urban fantasy mood lately, so do not be offended if I say no or do not seem as interested in these potential story lines. Some of the following ideas can also be worked into a fantasy setting instead of you were more interested in that.
Just your stereotypical story of a fallen angel who toes the line of good and bad that takes an interest in a human girl. Something dark and angsty would satisfy this craving! YC would be the fallen angel, MC would be the human. She could be special for some reason or another, or just a mundane person that he takes an interest in. It is likely that they get caught in the middle of the war between Heaven and Hell.
Any type of angel/demon corruption or even redemption. Just because good turns bad doesn't mean there isn't a happy ending at the end of the story. I would love to play an angel, however I am open to either role. I can write a story with this theme in either a modern or a fantasy setting. Both are suitable.
MC is a human physician that recently divorced her husband and was forced to move back in with her parents until she finds her own place. She doesn't know what it's like to live a single life, and on her 30th birthday, she ends up half naked in a drunken stupor on her parents front lawn. Enter YC, the gruff, lumberjack looking recluse of a werewolf that lives next door to her parents. He's annoyed at such a childish display, but he cannot help but find himself curious about the young woman. Fated mates? Just a dude into a chick? I'm pretty flex on that. I'd like to develop a storyline full of conflicting personalities, and some nice, melting tension between the two. It'll be super fun to write out MC being introduced to the world of the supernatural.
MC is a witch that struggles with making connections to people. She makes friends with people over the internet, but other than that, she spends the rest of her social hours hidden away as a ghost writer. She's quirky and cute, but realizes she is lonely and would like a companion. Enter YC, a womanizing, full of himself Tom Cat. He's a cat shifter who found himself in a real bad situation after a night of too much drinking and hiding from the folks he stole money from. Caught in his feline form by animal control, he barely registers the cute woman that adopts him until it's too late. Now he's stuck between playing house cat and staying under wraps until the heat on his back dies down.
I'm usually not one to write this kind of stuff, but I've been feeling something 'fated mates' based. You know, where two people are meant to be together as predetermined by fate. I don't have any specific pairings in mind, but I thought this would be a good fit for a supernatural plot. I don't mind making an exception to my anti-instalove dislike to this, but I definitely don't want the pairing to be an easy one. Perhaps it's two werewolves from opposing packs to get that Romeo/Juliet type feel. A supernatural hunter of some sort that comes face to face with the creature that steals his/her breath when they finally lock eyes for the first time. The stoic fae guardian that can't seem to shake the image of the girl he saw from behind the veil of Elphame.
MC is a witch that is really awful at magic. This stems from a lot of things, but mainly it's a lack of confidence in her ability to not kill someone. Her whole family is known as "black widows" and any person that falls in love with them is expected to die due to an old familial curse. However, YC broke the rules once upon a time and has carried an 'unwanted' torch for MC for a long time without her knowing. The two characters are opposites - YC is dark and dangerous, MC is kind and warm, YC is rich and well off, MC leads a modest life, YC is completely capable with his magic, MC can't find her way out of a box. Needless to say, YC finds his interest in MC absolutely inconvenient and the two of them do not typically get along as a result. As fate would have it, a darkness has infiltrated their community and has started to kill off magic users and other supernatural creatures left and right. As the upcoming leaders of their respective covens, YC and MC agree to work together to stop the slaughter of their people, and as they grow close to one another, YC teaches MC how to control her magic with the unfortunate consequence of growing the spark between them.
This is probably a more mature scene type plot with darker corruption themes present. If you aren't interested in that, this isn't going to be the story for you. MC is a witch that wants to make a name for herself in a very big way. If she can master summoning a small demon, she'd easily impress her entire coven. However, her first attempt goes awry big time. Enter YC, a greater demon or some powerful humanoid monster from another realm that has been unknowingly summoned by MC. YC enters the scene as her pseudo-savior, touting tales of world domination and soul stealing abilities galore. MC is beside herself, uncertain what to do with the dark male in her midst. That's when YC decides to act and offers her up a deal too good to refuse - he'll help her prove to everyone that she's not some type of pushover witch, but only in exchange for whatever dark requests he has of her instead.
SCI-FI/SPACE OPERA/CYBERPUNK PLOTS
I don't know that I have any specific story ideas for this section, per say, but stories that take place in space have recently begun to speak to me.
I will warn you - I am deathly afraid of aliens. I do not do well with xenomorphs. I can play with humanoid species as long as they don't look like the gray aliens you see on the conspiracy theory TV shows on the history channel. I am completely cool with things like Guardians of the Galaxy and/or Star Wars. With that being said, I'd love to explore something space opera-y.
I love weird characters. I love unique settings. My first foray into this genre was opposite a space dwarf and my second was opposite a space werewolf (both are long stories), so as you can see, I am no stranger to unusual. I am not picky, but I do ask that you run your character ideas by me so I can make sure they don't push into my uncomfortable alien species range.
Cyborgs seem like a really cool concept.
So does a space-based RP based on zodiac signs.
This is a vague idea that may need a little more meat to it, but I'm a definite fan of enemies to lovers, opposites attract pairings. I want to write in a futuristic, high tech world with cybernetic mods and all that jazz. I'd like for one character to come from the right side of the tracks, the one that has been gifted with money and stability and the opportunity to have their mods done by the very best. The other character would be the opposite, coming from the rough and tumble part of the world, where certain illegal mods are easy to come by if you know the right people. I'm cool with playing either side of this, but we would need to work together to establish some conflict. A good standard is always trying to over throw that crazy biotech company that focuses on eugenics that is somehow connected to both characters. Of course, I'm open for other ideas. Please note that I have never written cyberpunk nor have I ever read/watched anything cyberpunk-y. BUT the Pinterest images are great and I'm a sucker for a reason to listen to electronica for muse.
Final Thoughts: If you're looking for a writing buddy for a specific plot, feel free to ask me about it. If it's something that interests me, I'll let you know! If you have no plot ideas and don't like the ones I have listed here, I can always come up with something new we would both enjoy with you!
And last but not least, please PM me with any and all writing requests. I may not reply to ones posted here.
Thanks for stopping by! Happy Writing!
