Unfortunately my writing partner has had to drop out. I put a lot into the plot and my character Benjamin/Brendan and I hope someone would like to write a new female to restart the story.

We’d start a new thread. So although I put my introduction post here, I’m happy to change some details as we decide.

My post:

They were in the tiny town of Treforest. A tiny, unassuming Welsh village near the bigger area of Pontypridd. There was a population of circa 5,000 in the town Swelling just a little during term time and holding up the local economy, due to the students at the local university. Bars and clubs were always busy of an evening. Especially in the deep of a cold, snowy winter.

He'd come to the town a couple of years ago. He liked it there. Nobody gave him a second glance. OK, maybe a few did, but they never asked. No way would it be him. Brendan had therefore slotted in nicely and was known well by some of the older locals. He worked in one of the high street banks, in a back office, doing coding and IT support and such. He was a quiet but affable man. 6 foot 3, a thick mop of brown hair that was wavy. It would have started to curl if he let it go any longer. It was a deep chestnut brown. Luckily he'd not gone grey yet. His younger brother had, but then his younger brother had spent some time serving in the military in some really hard places. Plus, he and his wife had been blessed with two rambunctious kids, and they were enough to turn anyone grey. But back to Brendan. His eyes were a deep brown, and they always seemed to be happy and smiling at something. He had a short, but thick beard. He was always well dressed and despite only being in IT, seemed to enjoy good clothes and expensive cologne.

As he stepped into the bar, today was no different. He had a thick wool overcoat on to protect him from the snow. No hat, and his hair was damp from the snow that was currently in his hair. As he stepped in, and the door shut behind his friend, Ryan, he smiled briefly and ran a hand through his hair, shaking the snow away. Besides the wool overcoat, navy blue, he wore a pair of dark blue denim jeans and black boots. The pair found a table at the back of the bar and he shrugged off his overcoat, revealing a red sweater.

He said something briefly to Ryan, they shared a laugh and Brendan headed to the bar just as Tom asked for another beer. Brendan knew Tom. Everyone did locally. A kindly older widow who would give anyone his last few pounds if they truly needed it. He approached the bar just as Catherine returned and waited for her to be ready. "Two pints of the usual please. And if Tom hasn't paid yet, add his to my bill." Brendan's eyes flicked to his table and Ryan and he rolled his eyes. Ryan had now been joined by a much younger blonde woman and they were deep in conversation. "I think you better make that three beers. It looks like I'm in for a long night watching my friend fail at pulling." His chuckle at the end showed he didn't really care and he was just happy for his friend really. Despite having lived here for a few years, his accent stood out as being quite clipped, standard upper class received pronunciation. The kind all wealthy families used, no matter where they came from in the UK.

Once Catherine told him the drinks total, Brendan paid in cash, with enough for a generous tip. Brendan only ever paid in cash and that was unusual.

The basic plot is that my character has come to a small village to escape and go under the radar. He just wants a quiet pace, no drama. He’s mid 30s and hasn’t settled down yet. Unlike the photo above, he has grown a beard, so he isn’t recognisable at first.

The characters fall in love and this is where she discovers that Brendan is actually Prince Benjamin, future king of England. To make it believable, she’d discover it within a couple of months. How, is largely up to you.

It would be very plot heavy and whilst we can include smut, it would be as part of story development/relationship development. I’m pretty open in terms of type of smut, but no rape, extreme violence, master/slave etc. or toilet stuff.

You would not need a knowledge of the UK royal family. We’d use fictional characters, not real life references. Any real world information we’d need to keep it authentic, I’m happy to help with.

Looking forward to seeing who PMs!!
