You and I
have something in common.
We both have something
[locked] inside.
We keep them in the corners of our minds that so few know exist,
and even fewer know how to find.
Need they be of Fantasy, Horror, Erotica, Satire, Sci-fi, or any of the other countless names...
we sneak away like guilty children to breath life into them.
My name is
Traith
and I believe we are well met.
After all,
you and I have something in common...
We both have stories [locked] inside.

Who I am is not of an importance in this moment. How many years, though they are considerable, under my belt matters not a lick either (at least to me). Rather, I would engage you with the thought of what we do in places like this. I do not believe that it is simply writing, as one could achieve that goal by opening a blank google doc page. Dancing, Dear Reader, that is how this newcomer sees what so many simply deem as 'roleplay'. have something in common.

Letters strike notes only to grow into a symphony as the paragraphs build, and with every story our fingers move across the keys in rhythm to that which only we can hear. Worlds are born, shaped, and die within the pages that spill from the simple rhythms of our minds from behind our screens. Heroes are made, demons are fed, and entire universes turn on the unseen gravity of our thoughts twining against each other.
So, the crux of the problem with such an idea is finding the right partners. Those who can sway with expectations, and shatter them with a breath taking twist of motion. It is how across the stories we can bend, twirl, and delight ourselves in the motions.
Why am I here then? Why this place? Well, that is simple to answer. I have a question of my own that haunts the very edge of my tongue every time I see someone who can make me tap my foot in the pattern they show me. It is a question, though simple, that has stayed with me for years on years, and it is time to find more to ask it of.
I am here, Dear Reader, simply to inquire...
May I have this dance?

"Story, as it turns out, was crucial to our evolution -- more so than opposable thumbs. Opposable thumbs let us hang on; story told us what to hang on to." - Lisa Cron, Wired for Story
