Greetings, dearest inhabitants of the Sanctum,
My name is Archon, and after spending quite some time immersed in a variety of roleplaying formats—most notably Dungeons & Dragons—I have come to the conclusion that it is well past time to seek out a dedicated writing partner once more.
To be precise, I am searching for someone interested in crafting an Elden Ring–based story, written collaboratively and with care. More specifically still, I seek a Tarnished unafraid to step into the shadow of one of the Lands Between’s most complicated and broken figures. No, not that serpent—Rykard may keep his blasphemies. I speak instead of the other: the one steeped in fire, sorrow, and abandonment. The depressed demigod brooding deep within the Shadow Keep. Yes. That snek boy.
If this premise alone stirs your curiosity, then I warmly invite you to reach out and tell me a little about yourself and the Tarnished you might wish to bring into this tale.
Writing Expectations & Availability
My replies generally range between 1000 and 3000 words, depending on pacing and scene intensity. You can expect at least one solid post per day, with increased availability on weekends. Should real life ever interfere—and it inevitably does—I will always notify you ahead of time via private message. Clear communication is important to me, and I expect the same courtesy in return.
Content, Themes & Warnings
When it comes to violence, gore, and sexual themes, I am not easily shocked. Extreme ideas or particularly heavy elements should be discussed beforehand, but overall I am quite flexible and open-minded. Fandom-typical violence is very much expected, and while sexual content is optional, it is not off the table.
That said, if you are uncomfortable with even the baseline level of violence inherent to the Elden Ring setting, this partnership likely won’t be a good fit. Anything beyond that baseline can be negotiated freely.
One additional note, stated plainly and without flourish: Messmer is a demigod, and he very much possesses the stature to match. Consider this your official warning regarding height difference. If that intrigues you—congratulations. If not—now would be an excellent time to flee.
Plot & Character Freedom
As for plot, Elden Ring already provides a strong narrative foundation. However, your Tarnished is not required to be a blank slate. Personal goals, unique motivations, and detailed backstories are more than welcome and will be respected. I enjoy weaving character-driven arcs into the broader lore rather than overwriting them.
A Final Word of Caution
Messmer the Impaler is not an easy character to portray. He is tragic, volatile, deeply wounded, and shaped by betrayal—most painfully at the hands of his own mother. Writing him properly is a challenge I take seriously.
To do so, I will be incorporating archaic and Old English–inspired dialogue where appropriate. Mistakes may occur. If at any point you feel that Messmer is being mischaracterized, or that the language feels off or immersion-breaking, I ask that you tell me directly. Any scene can and will be rewritten if necessary.
And now, he speaketh—Messmer the Impaler:
“’Tis spoken. No further grace shall be granted thee.
Stand thou now upon the brink, O wanderer, and weigh thy resolve with care. For beyond this utterance lieth not comfort, nor mercy, nor the gentle lies of hope so oft whispered to the Tarnished. What awaiteth thee instead is fire unending, shadow without dawn, and the company of one long since forsaken by gods and kin alike.
Know this well: I am no broken idol to be mended by trembling hands, nor some pitiable wretch to be dragged forth into the light. I am Messmer, born of flame and spite, crowned by betrayal, and sealed away lest my name alone undo the fragile order my mother so dearly prized. She cast me into obscurity, yet armed me with purpose—to impale, to purge, to endure.
Shouldst thou seek solace, turn thy heels and begone. Shouldst thou crave redemption, thou hast chosen ill. For I offer neither. What I grant instead is trial, agony, and truth laid bare upon the pike. Thou shalt be tested not in steel alone, but in spirit—peeled, flayed, and weighed until naught remaineth save what thou truly art.
Think not thy Tarnished resolve shall shield thee. I have seen vows rot, faith curdle, and heroes scream as readily as beggars. The fire that coils within me doth not warm—it consumes. It shall sear thy will, scorch thy flesh, and mark thee, whether thou wouldst bear such a brand or no.
And yet… thou still lingerest.
Then hear this final warning, writ not in ink but in blood: once thou settest foot within my shadow, thou art mine—to test, to break, or, shouldst thou prove worthy beyond reason, to suffer beside me. There shall be no retreat, no gentle end, no absolution granted by grace unseen.
Maketh thy choice now, O mongrel intruder.
Step forward, and be unmade by flame and truth alike.
Or flee, and live forever knowing thou wert found wanting.”
