History: Coral was born and raised on the island. Having a decent-sized port, pirate ships (usually disguised as merchant ships when in port) were not uncommon. Pirates frequenting the shops, inns, bars, and pleasure houses weren't really a surprise, either. It wasn't exactly a safe-haven for pirates like Nassau, but the island itself received little attention from the Royal Navy that the pirates were largely left alone.
Coral was fascinated by the life of a pirate. Being a merchant sounded less fun then the freedom of a pirate ship. Merchants had deadlines and were beholden to clients (she assumed). Pirates, however, were beholden to no one outside of their ship.
She grew up in a loving family, but with a sense of adventure. When she stumbled across a scary cavern that looked unexplored, Coral was the type to go and explore. She knew most of this island like the back of her hand and craved adventure and knowledge of the rest of the world. She'd seen maps, but wanted to see it in person.
Her family was not well to do, and extra coin was always welcome, so the moment she saw an opportunity to join a pirate ship and earn a bit of money to send home, it seemed like a no brainer.
Pirating Experience: None, but I'm a fast learner! Probably
Weaknesses: lack of experience, aquaphobia, and a fondness for her best friend (which one could argue is a strength, but also it made her vulnerable).
Strengths: tenacity, willingness to learn, and decent enough physical strength

Physical Description: short and lithe, Jojo is a mere wisp of a girl with a giant pom pom of auburn curls that halo her heart-shaped face in a way that neither looks messy nor kempt
History: Jojo is desperate for some excitement in her life. The rebel child of a rich family on the island, she has always had the easy life at her finger tips. Being that she fell into the all too familiar trap of teenage rebellion, she rejected much of the expectations put on her in favor of skulking around the island and getting into some illicit substances (mostly rum, let's not go crazy here).
Seeing that a pirate ship was hiring, and wanting to see the world in a way that made her stomach clench, she signed up right away with her best friend.
Pirating Experience: None — however petty theft and general shenanigans may be on the table
Weaknesses: short temper, brash, impatient, and direct
Strengths: love for her best friend, loyalty, "ride or die"-ness, pickpocketing
Age: 21
