"I care about you on purpose. I have never loved you by accident."
CHARACTER SUMMARY/SHORT BIO:
Daniella had an average life growing up, from an orphanage to a loving foster family, life was nice. Most of her life was spent growing up next door to Alex, a boy a few years younger than her who she watched over like a mother bear would a cub. There was nothing one needed that the other was ever unable to help with, if one got stuck in the mud the other got covered in it while digging them out.
When he met his wife, they both knew the day he saw his future was a family with her. Dani had expected them to naturally grow apart after that but instead, the girlfriend fell in love with Dani and refused to let her grow apart as they each went their separate ways for college. What Daniella did not know was that they were both keeping one shared secret from her, that they were not human. The two agreed that while they were not sure what it was about her, the human had a pull they could not fight. Inviting her over as often as possible, every free moment not with the pack was offered to their favorite human. Dani just assumed they were touchy people with her because they had been close for years, never knowing they hugged her so tightly and so often to ensure she was smothered in their scent for protection.
As the years ticked past Alex and his wife started their family, 1 child quickly turning into 2 and while Dani was off at school their packs new alpha began making and carrying out plans to grow their lands and secure their company, which meant being very strict on who was allowed to work there and who was allowed what personal information of each pack member. With so many pack members having children, it was only natural to start being more careful.
The two could never keep Dani away though whenever things fell apart, emergencies came up, Dani was in the car or on the first flight and wherever they needed her to be within hours. They tried to keep her low profile, just a kind friend who never asked questions, was overly clever when needed and just happy to help as she always had. Not anyone the alpha needed to worry might cause security issues later.
Then Dani's life fell apart just as Alex and his wife were expecting their third child. Her foster parents passed in an accident and after hearing how much of a handful the two toddlers were on the expecting parents, the trio agreed instead of jumping from office to office as she had been, Dani would switch to being their nanny. Within 48 hours of being home, Dani had their schedules straightened, the children back on semi-regular sleep and their parents relatively back to sane. It was here they could no longer keep her a secret from those who didn't want her around.

QUIRKS:
- Never seems to be paying attention to conversations she's not a part of, but she hears every single word spoken in a room she's in.
- Seems impossible to upset, both or panic when emergencies come up.
- Never one to assume anything, she refuses to read the signs or between any lines, people have to be very direct with their intentions and actions or she will simply assume everything is coincidence or accidental.

MAJOR FEARS: Making a mistake that results in anyone getting hurt, losing their job, causing anyone to suffer without intention really.
MOTIVATION: Being good at her job and watching a place thrive as a result of it always bring her a sense of pride and accomplishment that no other job seems to bring.
Traits: Patient, kind almost to a fault, gentle, fiercely protective of those she cares for. Terrified of great heights.
"Hope has dirt on her face, blood on her knuckles, the grit of cobblestone in her hair, and just spat out a tooth as she rises for another go."

CHARACTER SUMMARY/SHORT BIO:
Raised in an orphanage there is little known about her real parents, she was left on the doorstep in the middle of the night with no note to indicate where she had come from. Despite what should have been a very lonely and miserable childhood, Briar seemed hell bent on staying kind and positive regardless of what terrors the world might try to show her. She and the rest of those children were also lucky to have a caretaker who cared for them, always doing her best to make sure their home was in the best shape it could be, everyone had their own set of clothing and they ate at least once every day.
That woman helped shape how Briar wanted to be as she started to grow, watching someone with very little trying to do the most for those around her encouraged Briar to do the same. At first she was reluctant to let Briar go, with how helpful she became around the home and how the rooms just always seemed brighter with her in it it was hard not to feel a little selfish wanting to keep her. However the town apothecary had started to grow and the siblings that ran it agreed it would be a place Briar would flourish not only in studies but with a kind family watching over her.
True to their word the siblings taught Briar everything they knew and even encouraged her to ask the others in town about subjects they lacked. By the time she was an adult, Briar was the face everyone in town looked forward to seeing, even going so far as agreeing amongst themselves that the goddess of kindness had given birth to her and left her with the mortals as a small blessing. Between her skills within the shop and always being happy to lend a hand with anything that required an extra set of hands it was no surprise to anyone that her eventual marriage was to someone in desperate need of her help.
Briar had not intentionally looked for a husband, however when the royal family ended up in their little apothecary shop she caught their attention in both the worst and a wonderful way. The youngest princess, who had insisted they stop by, was one of the happiest and sweetest people Briar had ever met. The young girl's concern for her older brother, second in line to the throne, had driven her to seek help outside of the castle walls with their shop being the most highly recommended.
An old injury had clearly become infected and yet, nothing that had been attempted over the weeks had done anything to help. While he was a short tempered, war hungry brute, Briar did her job as she always had. The prince returned home that evening fever free and was back to his usual ways within the week, a public execution was held to punish the person responsible for mixing toxins into his bandages and stitching.
When the princess returned a few weeks later, excited to announce that her new friend was going to be offered a position as a royal physician, it shocked her when Briar dropped to her knees and begged her for a way out of it. Having to deal with the pressure such a position would bring was unbearable, to risk making any of them angry or being accused of treason over some small mistake, it terrified her beyond reason.
The king had insisted on rewarding the woman though and the princess was certain they would not take a simple 'no thank you' as a response. Both the king and the prince wanted to bring her closer to the court and thankfully, the king also had a recently retired knight in need of a reward as well. The man had won a battle that most had been convinced would be a slaughter for their men. He took an arrow to the shoulder and still managed to bring the troops in line to turn the tides and win.
When the injury refused to heal properly he was given a new home and land to manage while he recovered and within a few weeks of moving in, the king announced he would be getting married. Marrying a stranger in pain and having such a large home and lands to use sounded far better than condemning herself to the court so Briar did not hesitate to agree.
QUIRKS:
WANTS: A marriage with joy or at least peaceful understanding and a business that is successful enough to continue donating to those with less.
MAJOR FEARS: Being forced to join the royal physicians or to give up her profession.
MOTIVATION: Making medicines available to all who need it, not just who can afford it.

Rolled Traits: Hopeful, Dreamy, Mischievous, Talented, Productive, Petty
"You do not yield."
View attachment 128017-Same face as Briar as they were both different versions of the same plot
CHARACTER SUMMARY/SHORT BIO:
Paige's family was never rich, however through their kindness and good deeds, they had made plenty of powerful friends to keep their kitchen from being empty, their homes always warm. Her mother passed while the children were young but they remembered all the little things she had taught them in their little home by the woods. Mushrooms safe to eat, little traps to set for rabbits, what plants were best to harvest for eating and others for drying.
Then her father saved the king's life and suddenly the small home went off on its own to a cozy home on the outskirts of the castle grounds. Believing to look out for those around you, the family quickly made friends in their eagerness to share whatever they had in abundance. No one in their village starved or went without medical care and encouraged the king to visit his people more often to help ensure they were all well taken care of and their surrounding lands thriving. The king and her father grew close enough that one day they made a jest about marrying Paige to the prince.
The king's eldest didn't take the joke lightly and instead, encouraged his father to offer the girl's hand to a lord who was still in need of a reward after helping to put an end to a cult rumored to be dealing in dark magic and hellish rituals. Unaware that the reason he'd been able to disperse the group so quickly, was because he had been the only one truly involved.
Married off to a man trying to gain power from the darkest source he can find, Paige find herself doing her best to be a good wife and take care of the people who share the home with her.
QUIRKS:
WANTS: A life filled with love and kindness, like she once had with her own family. As well as to make her family proud for enduring and overcoming what they feared was a doomed marriage.
WHAT THEY THINK THEY NEED: For their husband to die.
WHAT THEY ACTUALLY NEED: Money. After spending most of it she must stabilize her husband's spending before there's nothing left.
MAJOR FEARS: Being sacrificed to, or at some point by, whatever dark forces her new husband has been trying to conjure.
MOTIVATION: To avoid causing her family to fall to ruin and take care of those who work in her new home.
"You do not yield."
