MODIFICATIONS //
Lochlan has two major modifications done to his body:

- His neck -
When Lochlan was a kid he suffered from severer asthma, and became part of an experimental treatment. His parents signed him up for getting an implant around his neck that would help him breathe properly. He has had to get it replaced every year until he was fully grown. Because of its placement he is now entirely reliant on it, and goes to yearly checkups.

- His right arm -
When Lochlan went to the police Academy he was introduced to various cybernetic programs, and the students started to dream away of getting the best gear when they graduated. Lochlan was chosen for an apprenticeship with some of the elites - which he later joined. And when he was hired he was funded to get his arm replaced with a cybernetic for work purposes - according to his contract, the arm is confiscated if there is ever a termination from the force.

the story

Early years:

Lochlan was born unexpectedly while his parents were still young (his mother was in medical

school, and his father was studying environmental science), but despite the sudden circumstance there was always an abundance of love in their household. His early memories were living in a small flat with practically no money, but his parents always made it work. It was a house full of plants, art and books; because of his father's love of nature and urge to protect their island from pollution (and sinking). Lochlan grew up with a father who wanted to change the world, and a mother who saved people for a living.

It was only when he grew older that he learned that the rest of his family scorned at their views, and it was why he rarely saw the rest of his richer family members, and his parents were left to fend for themselves financially. In his early years his parents raised him to be kind, grateful and emphatic to people around him. He was taken to charity events, and helped raise money for the less fortunate on the 'sinking islands'.

One big problem in his childhood came when he started having trouble breathing at home. He would wake up at night gasping

for air, and his parents soon learned that he had severe asthma and allergies. It devastated his father to have to get rid of the plants that were so prominent in their home, but he did it. Yet as Lochlan became a teen, it only got worse, and especially when visiting the towns with terrible air quality he couldn't go long without medicine. This is when his parents invested in his first cybernetic surgery. As Lochlan entered his teens, they were fully educated and working, so they had the money to invest in getting Lochlan implants along his neck to help him breathe better. The cybernetic was implanted into his lungs and helped filter in oxygen when needed. It was bulky as a kid, but as the technology advanced, and they could afford it better it became a more subtle part of him.

In his social life, Lochlan made friends easily as a kid, and seemed to have endless energy - physically and socially. He did well in school, and always seemed to have a large circle of friends. However one person soon changed his whole life. His name was Reeve.

Reeve was loud, somewhat snarky and a somewhat mysterious enigma in his perfect life. Reeve was also the first person Lochlan ever had a crush on. The two met him in high school during a shared class

, and they bonded naturally. However, even if Reeve was like a best friend to Lochlan in school, Reeve would never take Lochlan home to visit his parents or speak about his family in general. They went to a "nice" private school, so Lochlan was confused about his closed off behavior for a long time, simply unused, to it, and he confronted him. Their argument was intense: Lochlan trying to force him to open up and Reeve biting back nail and tooth. Yet, eventually Reeve broke down, and admitted to his life at home. His father's addiction to underground drugs, and connections with the gangs in the sinking cities, and how his mother had withdrawn from it all - Lochlan listened to it all. Really listened. Reeve was surprised that someone from Lochlan's background was emphatic to his situation and this opened a whole new door for a world he invited Lochlan into. One of these things were, illegal hoverboarding.

Reeve always arrived to school on a hoverboard: the legal kind. These were hoverboards that just fly a few inches off the street and could maybe do a full rotation and skateboard tricks. These could be purchased by anyone and were regularly used by the rich. Lochlan had even borrowed it for the fun of it.

But they could be tampered with.

One evening Reeve had pulled Lochlan along for a "surprise", and brought him to a street where there was a line-up of ' night flyers' who did hoverboard racing in the city streets. They had engineered their hoverboards to take flight and be able to soar much higher in the air. Lochlan was reluctant at first, but curiosity (and honestly his giant crush on Reeve) urged him to give it a try. The first time he took flight was like an adrenaline rush like no other. It felt like actual flying. The two of them started sneaking away and go for flights on these illegal boards.

It was after a wild chase, after almost being captured by the authorities, that they landed on a rooftop and Lochlan kissed Reeve for the first time.

Becoming an Enforcer

Lochlan's relationship with Reeve was soon public.

Yet, as they approached their time to choose career paths in life, the two of them started to steer very different paths. Reeves started going out more and slacking in school. His main crowd of friends were from the illegal hoverboarding crowd, and he was introduced to shadier and shadier people. Nevertheless he was still loyal and kind to Lochlan.

This was around the same time that Lochlan started admiring the world of the enforcers. Lochlan's teachers urged him to channel his good physique and kind heart toward a good career, but Reeve was always vocal about how much he hatedthe enforcers so Lochlan brushed the idea aside for a long time.

Yet, after hearing his faint interest Lochlan's parents arranged for him to meet up with a good friend of theirs: Officer Atlas Varen. At first Lochlan was reluctant. A part of him didn't want to be intrigued by the enforcers that his boyfriend so passionately hated, but eventually... he started liking the man. Atlas had hopes for the force, and he was overall kind-hearted and idealistic, like many adults in Lochlan's life.

When Atlas asked if he wanted to come see the kind of work he did in practice, Lochlan agreed. He was taken to the station, shown the weapons (even shot a few shots), and talked to the people there. His inspiration was skyrocketing the more stories he gathered from the enforcers there. It made him create a dream scenario, which would help his father's dream of essentially creating a better world for the islands.

When Reeve heard of his definite choice of career he was furious. They fought. Lochlan said some nasty insinuations about Reeve ending up as a criminal if he continued like this, and gave him back the illegal hoverboard, saying "he was done with that world". Reeve didn't take it, but he did storm out. It triggered Reeve into breaking up with him, and their relationship officially ended from there.

Lochlan entered the Academy and excelled in the training. He worked hard to earn his place and climb his way to the top. He had many late evenings were he almost broke down and quit from the harsh environment, but battled through it. He earned friends for life there, dated around and kept helping his parents with charity work on the side.

As his time at the Academy came to an end, he was reached out to by Atlas Varen, who had heard how well he did in the Academy and wanted to offer him a rookie position as an enforcer. The only catch was that he would be stationed in the sinking islands, which had the most gang activity of the city.

Yet, Lochlan being eager to prove himself and proud to have been approached: naturally took the offer.

Not to mention the other perk of the deal: funding for cybernetic enhancement. More specifically a specialized equipped arm, that worked as armor and licensed weapon.

Joining the enforcers:

Now, Lochlan works for the enforcers and it was a reality check like no other.

While people on the sinking islands had been grateful to him while he handled
charity work, no one liked an enforcer. He realized they had a rumor for cruelty and corruption. But even then, Lochlan was not "high ranking" enough

to be useful to the gang members, so most of what he received was scorn. Inside of his own force he also saw people cover things up and make deal. It was normal, but Lochlan started reporting them, and his fellow officers soon learned not to share as much with him specifically. It meant he for the first time had difficulties making friends where he worked.

He went through a very low period, where he questioned his entire dream, and almost quit. Yet after talking with friends, and a few good co-workers he sucked it up and continued on his path.

Now, he is at an in-between stage mentally, where he tries to follow his morale compass at work, and navigate in the system to the best of his ability, but there are still many things he has to learn as an enforcer.
