Has it stopped following us?
Like most clockwork-automata, the Clockwork Avian is a creatures that was originally artificially created but has since bred and expanded out into the wilds of the world. No one is sure how automata became "wild", but some have speculated that the forms created the gods enough to grant them the ability to reporduce.

Unlike normal animals, Clockwork Avians (and all automata) do not breed in the traditional sense. The "male" and "female" of the species will collect pieces of metal over time before breathing life into the husk. These automata do not go through an infancy and are considered fully mature the moment they become "alive". This means that seconds after the Clockwork Avian's birth, it is already one of the most lethal predators of it's environment. The ire of a Clockwork Avian can be exceptionally dangerous as they hunt without the need for rest and will pursue a target without stopping until it either loses interest or the target has died.
