Howdy! I'm Wren/Ren, 20 years old, and currently suffering from too much free time. I've been RPing for five years now, but I've had the itch to write for as long as I can remember (there is a truly god-awful "book" I wrote in kindergarten lurking on my father's old computer somewhere, and I pray it never sees the light of day). I write all things fantasy and sci-fi, but I'm happy to stray into other settings if you have a strong craving and we have good writing chemistry.
I'm very laidback and not the grammar police, so don't stress out about trying to make your writing perfect. RP is a hobby; it's supposed to be fun! My only request is that your responses are at least a paragraph or two, so no one-liners, please! Quality over quantity. My responses are usually 300-500 words, but my starters get much longer (1,000w), and scene descriptions tend to possess me now and then...
My yucks:
- Romanticized rape/non-con (Meaning between our characters)
- Pain play (Intentional bleeding, knives, etc)
- Hate sex (Makes me sad, lmao)
- Hentai stuff (Just... No, thanks)
- Excessive bodily fluids
- Weird nicknames (Kitten, daddy, mommy, etc)
- Non-negotiated BDSM (BDSM is fine, but it needs to be discussed.)
- Overly "cute" characters. We're both adults, right? (Stuff like "plwese
" just gives me the ick.) - Too large of an age gap. My character is 32; please have your lady be at least 20.
But enough of the boring stuff... Let's plot!
Arranged Marriage Plot...
My current craving is an arranged marriage plot set in ancient Rome. I'm very flexible on the exact date; we could go heavy into the world building and setting, or we could focus on our characters romance, whichever sounds good to you. I already have a plot in mind, but (once again) I'm very open to your input if you want something tweaked.
Pairing: Retired Primus Pilus x Your Female Character
L. Aleius Severus
A man with a mysterious backstory, Severus is the retired Primus Pilus of the 5th legion of Rome.
He was honorably discharged after fourteen years of service due to receiving a nearly fatal injury that left him partially crippled.
Most days his leg works just fine, but far too often he finds himself needing to pick up a cane, or even worse--stay in bed all day. (Could you imagine?!?)
Severus has retired to Corsica, a modest island known for it's sheep exports and... little else.
Most would have considered this a horrible fate or a downright banishment being so far away from civil society, but Severus truly enjoys the solitude of his villa and needs only the company of the house staff, the horses he trains, and his loyal hound Faust to be satisfied.
He lives simply and quietly off of his ample accumulation of savings and the generous stipend he receives from the empire.
That is, until a wife is practically forced upon him...
Privately, Severus is looking forward to having someone to spend his money on...
He's never really known what he's supposed to do with his hard-earned riches, but... women like dresses, do they not? And... other expensive things?
It is only his job as a husband to provide.
Some context for the plot: I don't want this to be an enemies-to-lovers story.
There can be some discomfort between our characters--as living with a complete stranger who's now your spouse is likely not the most comfortable thing in the world--but there won't be any hatred between the two of them. Severus very much goes into this marriage with the mindset of, "If we can't be lovers, I'd at least like to be friends," and will treat his wife with nothing but the utmost respect and chivalry.
I'm looking for a slice of life, with much emphasis on building their bond and kindling their romance. Which also means that there won't be any devil's tango between the two of them for a little while. Though whether or not they consummate their marriage first thing is up for discussion. (They could lie and claim their marriage was consummated if YC isn't comfortable with having sex with him right off the bat.)
Your character's backstory is totally up to you. She would most realistically be of some kind of Roman nobility, but if you have something different in mind, I'm all ears!
