Crossbow, A.K.A. chela greats.
Crossbow is a 22 year old man who grew up in the mountains. Having spent most of his life in the wilderness of north Carolina. He is mostly ignorant to modern technology due to his upbringing. When he was three years old his father died. Only for his mother to remarry to an abusive man. His stepfather hated disobedience, to teach his wife a lesson he took Chela into the mountains and carried a crossbow along to kill him. At this time chela was four.
Before he could be killed a mountain lion scared the stepfather away, he left the crossbow behind in a blind attempt save his own life. Chela kept the weapon. Although at the time of was much to big for him. After that he grew up by himself peacefully in the mountains.
He didn't even know about the apocalypse until an avalanche in the winter injured him badly enough that he nearly died. He was named by the elderly woman who saved him. She named him crossbow because it was the only English word he knew. They descended the mountain together.
Crossbow has bronze colored skin, his mother was Hispanic and his father white.
His eyes are Egyptian green and he has enhanced sight. Achieving him deadly accuracy at long distance with his crossbow. He has short brown hair and commonly wears a tshirt of varying colors, bluejeans, tan military combat boots, and a cowboy hat.
Although he is still learning English he speaks with a heavy southern accent, often slipping back into his first language, which he created growing up. He can't run very fast without pain due to his injury
Crossbow loves to hunt, fish, and observe his surroundings. He and nan, the woman who saved him, are nomadic and he often watches the camps of survivors they stumble across.
Crossbow is kindhearted yet wary of strangers.
