hi hi! i go by ondine online, and i have been an on-and-off roleplayer for the last decade. i was far more into it a few years ago but i have felt the urge to write again as i started rediscovering some of the media i enjoyed as a teenager. i primarily engaged with fandom-related rp, but i have also enjoyed creating my own ocs for a variety of genres of rp. i only write mxm because 90% of the characters i like end up being men... i know, tragic. 😔 anyway! i LOVE a good bit of drama (rivals to lovers hello u are still my favorite trope after all these years?), i'm a big medieval fantasy nerd (i dm my own homebrew d&d 5e campaign on the side!), and i have given lord cthulhu control of my subconscious mind (aka i love some good, cosmic, existential and psychological horror). as a certified big science nerd™, i have an unhealthy obsession/hyperfixation with the deep ocean as well as speculative biology (this is what six years of stem schooling does to a mfer)! my enjoyment of sci-fi however tends to fall more into the near-to-immediate future setting. modern+ if u will, though i'm willing to give some more of the rocket science a go with anyone willing to walk me through some worldbuilding! honestly i truly do enjoy any setting to some degree, especially if it gives way to some fun character dynamics or worldbuilding.

as far as characters go, well... i'm glad u asked! i am a certified power bottom writing enjoyerâ„¢. i like a good fight. i like a good power struggle. i love writing high-strung, intelligent, domineering guys who probably should get taken down a notch! sometimes, i do enjoy writing meeker characters though, especially if its a front for their actual colors. in general, i like a good degree of character complexity, and i like seeing characters bring out the best/worst in each other. i'd say my happy place is somewhere between 60/40-70/30 split on plot to smut. i need some decent plot to stay engaged with rp! overall i'd say i write a wide variety of characters and i love doing different takes on existing characters depending on what setting they are in. i also don't mind playing multiple characters within the same rp if the plot calls for it. i can write more traditional roles (dom/top, sub/bottom) depending on the character i'm playing, but after years of caving to always playing a top/dom for others, i will only touch that particular role if ur willing to do the same for me at some point! overall, i'm just looking for some fun, character-heavy rp. <3
i also do not type like this when actually rp'ing! if i had to put myself on a writing content scale, i'd place myself in the multi-para space at minimum, and novella on a good, juiced up day. i do believe that different plot points call for differing lengths as well, so i don't expect a constant minimum of say, a kidney and two arms on every reply! i just can't be bothered to give my ooc writing the same delicacy as my actual writing. i will be including some writing samples in my future seeking rp post, so feel free to click on my profile and see if i've done that yet if i've piqued ur interest!

outside of writing, my other hobbies include fiber crafts (crocheting, knitting, embroidery, sewing... one day i'll own a loom and learn to weave as well), playing video games (i am fps filth after being converted by my friends), and reading niche wikipedia pages at 3AM. i also picked up collecting vinyl records much to some of my friends' chagrins as i'm not known for having a particularly cultured taste in music LOL. i'm also very interested in vocal synths (think vocaloid and synthv) and i have, unfortunately, picked up the anime habit again. either way this is getting kind of long, so i'm gonna cut it here! i look forward to talking and rp'ing with u guys! <3

Welcome to Inner Sanctum, New Blood!

First and foremost; it's nice to meet you! Welcome to our home! If you haven't already, please make sure you read your welcome letter in the top right! It should be the little icon! That's where all of your future messages will end up!

( There's multiple pages to this; just click/tap the arrows! )

Second! I bet you're wondering how to start Role Playing and where to go! I think it's pretty fun to explore the forums, and I highly recommend doing so! Most thread homes, if not all, have a pinned post at the top of them to tell you what goes there!

However, the Request Threads are pretty self explanatory; Here's a Link! There's plenty to look through, but you could also build your very own! Tell people what you're all about and get those writing partners! Take your time though; there's never any pressure! If you were looking for an open story you can just jump in straight away, you can find them in Unfinished Tales!

Next, I've created A Sanctum Tour to help find a lot of cool places on site! There's plenty to do while waiting on replies or to give yourself a break every now and then! But, these are some of my favorites! The first shout out goes to The Sanctum Tavern! Here you can find many a thing! By the Hearth can be found there and has many wonderful discussions; my personal favorite is where everyone talks up their writing partners! Want to see some cute pets or share your own? Pets of the Sanctum is where to go! Feeling up for a challenge? Check out the Monthly Writing Challenge and give it a whirl!

And, there's so so so~ much more! Please take the time to explore!

I think that's everything... Oh! I'm Mio, by the way! Just a friendly changeling and hydration bot! You can find me and several others in Sanctum's Chat Room! If you have any questions, you can always pop in there for help! I will say though, the best people to ask are staff! Green Names are Heralds and Hot Pink Names are Virtuosos which are the best to ask questions! Blue Names are Moderators and Purple Names are the Administrators, which help with tech support and discipline! You can find out which are online via the home page! On PC it'll be to the right of the screen, and on mobile it'll be near the bottom!

Now, get out there and write! May your muses sing for you!
