Hey all, my name is sky & I'm an illustrator with two decades of roleplay experience. I like home-spun worlds, secrets, and the unknown. I write romance and intrigue. I create characters that feel like living people.
I prefer writing that is substantive, often with romance and relationships as a heavy element, but I like for there to be some plot to push us forward & help our characters grow. I can be convinced to do almost anything with a well-thought plot, but I also love inventing and collaborating on worldbuilding. My ultimate goal is to write something we can both be engaged with.
I'm presently (as of October 2025) looking for someone to write medium to long-term with, but also open to short & sporadic engagements. I have health issues that can sometimes cause me to take long pauses from writing (my last post here was about a year ago OTL), but if we have a good rapport I'm always open to return to a plot whenever so desired. I prefer to write either a few times a week or multi-posting every few nights, though my reply times may vary.
Personally I'd MOST prefer to do any of my specific plots, but you can ask about or suggest anything here or not here idc. I'm pretty flexible.
Also, if I have ever written with you before (either here or on another site), I am always down to pick up something left behind. Don't be afraid to reach out if you recognise me and want to write again!
If any of this sounds intriguing, click through the tabs for more details (:
of me
I write in third person past tense and would prefer my partner to do the same.
I usually write 6-10 lengthy paragraphs for starters and set-piecing, and average 3-5 paragraphs for normal responses. I write more or less depending on what's needed of each post. If rapid-posting, I'm totally fine with 1-3 paragraphs per rapidfire response.
You can expect replies from me at least once or twice a week. My favourite method of posting is actually rapid-firing, so if you're down to do a few posts in one night once or twice a week you're probably going to be my new best friend.
I am disabled and sometimes can't post as regularly. I usually try to be communicative of when I can't write, but if I happen to forget you're always welcome to gently prod me!
I'm ditch-friendly. Just let me know if something isn't working out and it's cool. My response times may not be the best, but I'll always let you know if I need to ditch, too!
I prefer something between a 80:20 and 60:40 plot:smut ratio. I enjoy writing smut more the better I get to know my partner & the further on we are in character development.
I'm fine with writing more than one character to fill out a setting or plot. I'm fine with those characters being secondary main characters or npcs.
I don't have any preference or requirements regarding face claims and character sheets. I exclusively use illustrated face claims. I have a few characters with approximate real-life face claims, but my drawings are always going to be more accurate to my characters' appearance.
I will only make character sheets as requested, and I'll usually follow whatever format you set. My preference is to do a little plotting and then jump right into writing.
of you
I would ideally prefer at least a solid two or three paragraphs per post+ from those I roleplay with. Even more is just an added benefit!
If your replies are substantiative content-wise, don't worry about post-matching.
I'm cool with any response time within two weeks. I know this isn't always possible, however, so communication takes precedence over anything else.
I love plotting, but if a starter isn't posted within a week after plotting I'll definitely lose interest. Sorry :(
I like to plan overarching plot together, then allow improvisation to pull us from one plot point to another. I find writing most fun when there is ebb and flow between who is "in control" of the narrative.
I'm down to do lots of the heavy ideating and worldbuilding on my own, but I really love to write with people who want to have a firm hand planted in the world, too! I can build up a plot for you to explore a character in if you'd like, but for me, the more planning and cooperation, the better. If you can't contribute to the plotting and worldbuilding in some way, we're not suitable partners.
I do not tolerate transphobia or other queerphobia. The same goes for other kinds of bigotry as well. Please abide by site rules.
I don't have any triggers but please inform me if you have anything I should avoid/be aware of.
characters
I play characters of all genders, but typically prefer m/m, m/f, or nb/m, nb/f pairings. I do like f/f, but I prefer to only write it with people I'm familiar with. Most of my characters are queer in some way.
I really prefer to roleplay with humans or human-adjacent species. I do love the supernatural but I find it hard to write around the anthropomorphic. I'm fine with supernatural things, but I can't write furries.
I write sexuality and sexual preference purely based on what is best fitting for the character. I'm not going to force my character into a kink or role for no reason. I prefer not to determine what characters are played based on sex dynamics. Assume my character is a switch/vers until it becomes relevant.
settings
I love plot & conflict a lot. I cannot stress this enough. I really like to place my characters in worlds where they can react to a well-established culture. I also love planning & discussing conflict & setting, and although I have some preferences, I can be swayed to do most anything with enough consideration. Below are some settings I find interesting with a short description. For some specific plot wants, check out the wanted section. Starred settings are what I currently find most interesting.
A Re-Imagined History: Turn the real world upside-down and give it a sprinkling of magic. Vikings who ride upon the backs of megafauna. The Islamic golden age where magic is common but oppressed. Industrialized cities where no one visits the haunted mountains.
Rebuilding from Dust: What do you do after the apocalypse hits? You make something better. Drowned cities with scavengers wading through the kelp. Telescopes still on, searching the skies. Apocalypse turned utopia.
Red Light Horror: The mundanity of trying to move through life is interrupted with a gunshot. A time loop in a strip club. Stained motel carpets. A white van and too much cash on hand.
Vaguely Supernatural Slice of Life: Sure, there's hard fantasy, but what if our world was almost the same, just a little bit more inexplicable? Superstition and mysticism, crumbling old houses, and inhuman races blending seamlessly with the general populace.
Cyberpunk Dystopia: Soft Sci-Fi with a heavy hit of late-stage capitalism. Government monitoring, body enhancements, dissipated neon, and underground anarchist groups.
Fantastical Americana: America is a liminal space and you can't convince me otherwise. Bonus for small town, rural, and Appalachian settings. I can go for modern ±10 or 15 years. Secret societies, cryptids, dead gods, and twin peaks-esque supernatural intervention.
Middle Industrial Pseudo-History: If there's any historical setting I like to play in, it's the floating range of 1890-1930. But who needs to adhere strictly to history? What if the world was a little different, a little more enigmatic? Trains to nowhere, slipping out of stays and combinations, velvet curtains, human hearts in the icebox, smoky factories, and the uncertainty of a world that's becoming more and more global by the moment.
Tolkien and Forgotten Realms-esque High Fantasy: What it says on the tin. I don't like to write explicitly in pre-existing settings, I love settings where humans aren't just human, where magic and mystery rule, and where ancient kingdoms fight for power. The dead rising from ancient graves. Men tempted by the gods. Magic and monsters threatening mundanity.
Edo period Japan: Though I don't usually write in strictly historical periods, I just think this era is cool. I also like writing in East Asian inspired settings broadly, not necessarily just Japanese settings. Daimyos vying for power. Spirits in the mountains. Serenity interrupted by smoke.
This section is a perpetual WIP and in no way a definitive indication of what I will and won't roleplay- don't feel restricted by this list. I'm down for anything so don't be afraid to message me!
general plots
These are some nonspecific ideas we can build on to make something cool! Feel free to bring your own thoughts if there's a concept that intrigues you.
A religious leader who has sworn themselves to celibacy ends up in a romance with one of their advisors, and the two work together to dismantle the oppressive systems in their ranks with their newfound positions. Lots of secret meetings and flirting. (fantasy utopia type setting preferred)
Two mages who have spent most of their lives in the arcane tower must decide what to do when non-mages have declared war on the arcane council. Will they stay and fight for their right to do magic, or is there a bigger picture that they're missing outside of those ancient halls? (alt history persian empire/mediterranean preferred)
Two people meet after the burning of a village; one a perpetrator, the other a victim. How will they reconcile the horror of these actions, their difference in ideology and allegiances, in the midst of falling in love? (give me some viking/celtic romance for this one please yes)
Two people of completely opposing classes/cultures pursue a forbidden romance. How will they escape the notice of those around them? Will their differences bring them closer together, or push them further apart? (would prefer a fantastical historical setting for this, of any era up to the industrial revolution)
specific plots
These are very, very specific cravings that I'm having, to the point where I might even have a shadow of the character I'd like you to play figured out already.
A demigod falls for a mundane woman who he believes to be the reincarnation of a past lover. Chaos ensues.
I would be playing the demigod (Dionysios, shown here), and you would be playing a human.
Dionysios has a cult of vampire-like beasts that follow him around and would present a bit of a threat. You're welcome to play some if you like, too (:
I'm not very particular about the time period or setting for this, but I would prefer either:
Ancient roman to renaissance european setting, with the past lover being either grecian or akkadian
Modern setting, with the past lover being either roman or grecian
I'd LOVE to interstitially insert some vignettes of Dionysios & his past lover to reinforce the similarity between her & her more modern counterpart.
A man has awoken in the desert with memory loss and a voice in his head that purports to be a god. Where did he come from? How did this happen? Can he ever be free again?
I could play either character but I'd prefer this setting to be ancient, from something ancient sumerian to ancient grecian in time period. I'm cool with any cultural influence but would VASTLY prefer something near eastern, african, or north asian.
Whoever plays the voice in the head/god would be bound physically to the other character's body, but we can discuss and decide what sort of influence that allows the voice to have on the host's body and perception. I'd love to do some absolute fuckery with the voice pushing the host into alternate states of mind/forcing and creating hallucinations/taking control to manipulate npcs and the like.
the host's past will definitely become plot relevant at SOME point (perhaps he was a criminal? a man running from something? a lost soul with a family that misses him?) but we can decide what precisely that was as we go. from the get-go, he will have amnesia.
Yes, they will fall in love, that is a given.
Pulled out of a snowbank, a prince ends up in the hands of a peasant. It becomes quickly obvious someone tried-- and failed-- to assassinate him.
I would be playing the prince (Konstantin, shown here). He is a Visovek, a goat-like race of giant horned men. Because their culture is heavily inspired by eastern russian and mongolian culture, I'd prefer a setting that is fantastical but inspired by central or northern asian culture.
Your character, Konstantin's savior, can be whatever race, from wherever-- they could live in the city, in a remote town, in a teensy village in some remote mountain. They can be human or something more fantastical, more animalistic. Accentuate their differences however you prefer-- Konstantin is charmed by the novel and exceptional.
We can decide together who the assassin was and what their motive was as we progress.
I'd love to go from Konstantin getting to know YC's more modest daily life to Konstantin bringing YC into the palace. Where it goes from there we can decide together!
It's the year 2468 and a time-traveling assassin has come for his next target: one of the many power-cursed youths he was raised alongside. This time, though, he fails to kill them and gains a new ally-- and potential love-- instead.
I would be playing Arlo, the time traveler (I don't have a drawing of him atm, but he approximately looks like this.). You can play someone of any gender with any sort of gift/power/whatever wording you prefer, though we should discuss its strengths and weaknesses beforehand.
This is one of the settings I have more thoroughly explored and thought out-- the world is a cyber-dystopian megacapitalist society with a council of corporations and mercenaries that broadly rule over most of the world.
In this world, the biggest corp, a once-tech company turned security giant, NVision, has utilised its resources and wealth to experiment on human embryos and infants to find a sort of "superpower genome". They are secretly holding captive and raising those who express powers to use them as a future mercenary force. The oldest of these individuals are in their early 20s-- broadly, they were all test tube babies who are parentless and have no memories outside of these facilities.
A group of hacker-anarchists, called Arcadia, are attempting to thwart and expose NVision for these cruelties. They have managed to kidnap a small number of these gifted people and have them within their number, but NVision doesn't see them as much of a threat, and personally, Arlo thinks they're a little stupid.
They'd be assassinating people together and time traveling, but the specifics of what happens, where things go, and who they kill is very flexible. Their targets are other gifted people, but who, and in what order? we can figure that out!
