Lu had been up since dawn. Combining through the local phone book, with a pen in hand, and the internet on her well worn but loved laptop, for auto parts stores, pick n pulls and other such things. See Lu is a mechanical student at her local university. Finals are fast approaching. This year the mechanic professor decided to add to the hellscape. If you want extra credit, if you got a make and model of car you can't stand up and road worthy. Extra points if you got the car looking nice as well.

If it's one thing Lu lives for, its a challenge. She'd managed to find the body of a 1970's Cadillac superior. It wasn't in half bad shape either. Now it wasn't quite a car model she doesn't like. Yet who likes a hearse? Truly? At the very least it'd make for a legendary final for sure. Especially if she got it done in time, to give it the paint job she wants.

She chuckled to herself, as she waited for yet another autoparts store to pick up their phone. She had a local car enthusiast chat room up. Along with the slew of tabs necessary during finals prep. A couple of her fellow students were in the chat room today. Most going on about how hard good parts are to find. Along with trying and some failing to get information/tips, parts and so on.

Well apparently someone has said something funny. The chat was honestly moving too fast for her to keep up. For in the blink of an eye, the room was getting flooded with dad jokes. The worst yet being.

"Why should you always carry peanut butter in your car?...In case of a traffic-jam!"

Lu had to cackle at that one, despite how terrible it was. The chat room exploded with dino emojis. Which was apparently the chatrooms mascot. As most members were vintage car enthusiasts. Several emojis of the adorable green dino, were of it either gagging or wielding some kind of hammer. Several messages had both and a few had the lil guy eating popcorn. As though they were watching the shenanigans unfold.

Of course, lu decided to add to this, by replying to the joke with a dino holding a heart. The chatroom exploded again, this time with boos, exaggerated nos and pleads to not encourage the joke maker. Which of course made Lu cackle all the more, she does love a good shenanigan. Well, apparently the worker of the autoshop had answered, for they were laughing right along with her.

It took a few minutes for both parties to catch their collective breath. Lu closed the chatroom fully, because the jokes were still going, and Lu did need to get started for goodness sake. Perhaps it was the laughter she brought the store employee that brought her luck. For when she asked about parts for the cadillac, they happened to have quite a lot in stock, and at a steal too! Lu wasted no time, packing her things away and getting ready to go shopping.

The weather was perfect for a roller skate ride too. That's exactly what she did, to get to the shop. Not only did they have the parts, but the employee she spoke to happened to also be very cute. Lu even got to reuse the dad joke that had got the two of them laughing in the first place.

She left the store rich indeed, with several parts in her gunny sack, the employees phone number and the small portable radio she always kept with her, blasting her favorite oldies songs. Oh yeah. This day was a great day to be alive.
