Hi there, I'm Elm.

I'm coming off a hiatus but I have been writing for ten years and would really love to get back into it. Recently I was inspired by the game Dispatch, it just made something in my head click and I really loved it. It inspired me and maybe it inspired some of you too! This story is inspired by the game and will have some similar aspects, but this is out own universe without any of the original characters. If you're familiar with the game I'm hoping for a relationship similar to Flambe and Robert, total opposites. One heroic and drawn to doing good to a fault and the other an ex Villain trying to make up for his mistakes and trying to become a Hero, but he's hot headed and a bit of an asshole. I want them to butt heads and bicker but grow closer despite that.

I'll be quick summing myself up, but I've worked on my writing quite a bit to get it to a level of quality I really enjoy. I go for both quality and quantity and I'm hoping for a partner that has a similar writing style to myself. I write third person/past tense. 500 words is usually my minimum but depending on the scene it can vary quite a bit. I like solid writing but I'm not a stickler for perfect grammar and typos don't bother me. Gods know I make mistakes. As long as your writing isn't riddled with them and you've put good effort in, then I'm happy! I really just need a partner that pushes the story forward because I will definitely be pushing us in the direction we decide on together, I just don't want to be the only one moving the story along. I'm a big fan of fantasy, romance, adventure, and slow burns.

Expectations/Preferences for you and myself
-500 word minimum per post. My range is 500-1500+ depending on the scene.
-Third person/past tense
-Communication (For both plotting and just general communication about wait times between posts)
-Posts like once a week, more if possible of course, but this is a hobby and it should be fun. No pressure. Just let me know so I'm not constantly checking for updates.
-18+ themes like sex, drugs, violence, ect... I like detailed writing so things will get nitty gritty.
-A solid story that also includes smut where it fits. I don't have a preferred ratio but I'm big on sexual tension and slow burns that sometimes erupt suddenly. It should be organic if our characters have chemistry.

Onto the story idea;

In a world where superheros are common it only makes sense that villains also exist. Like yin and yang, always fighting for dominance. Heros and Villains are often born with their powers. Shape shifting, invisibility, flight, super strength, wielding fire and other elements. The different powers seem endless. But in this world normal people also exist, regular every day people that are just trying to live their lives. Villains are constantly throwing the world into chaos but heros are always there to put it all back together again. But just standing around hoping a Hero shows up was never a good system, so they created SDN: The Superhero Dispatch Network. SDN works like a police call center. People call in emergencies and Dispatchers send out Heros to handle them. Of course there are still Vigilantes though, independent Heros who work alone, but many rely on the Network so their heroic duties are paid, they get benefits, and even a pension. Its allowed people to work as Heros full time and it's had a huge positive impact on society.

One of these Vigilante heros is known as The Raven, an all black wearing hero that is assumed to be a man. He is known for his fighting ability and use of robotic gauntlets to make his hits harder and faster. Because behind the disguise, he is a she, and she has no powers. She was born a regular person with no super human abilities, but her Father was a Hero. He was well known and respected until his untimely death five years ago. She didn't inherit any of his powers, but his death drove her to try and fill the void he left. She designed the gauntlets to make up for her lack of super strength. That along with her life long training in combat made her a formidable foe. She went to university for engineering and made all her tools herself. With her skill and the tools she designed she quickly became a well known SuperHero despite her lack of powers. She disguised herself as a man, taking that extra step to keep her identity a secret. Because as a hero without powers it made you an even bigger target, and if she was ever caught without her gauntlets... well, she could hold her own with her fighting ability but without the added power from her gauntlets she would be at a huge disadvantage. She couldn't lift a finger against super strength and speed. And that weakness is one of the things she hates most about herself.

In her years busting bad guys though she's gained more than a few enemies, and one night theres an accident. While tracking the Villain that killed her Father she gets caught in a trap, and the only way to survive it was to use her gauntlets as a bomb. She escaped, but now weaponless and unfortunately out of money, she can't just jump back into Hero work. She goes into temporary retirement when she is approached by the leader of an SDN branch. They offer her a job as well as support rebuilding her gauntlets. How can she say no?

So she begins working as a Dispatcher to a team of ex-villain heros. Ex-villains full of sarcasm and attitude. It's not going to be an easy road but to make matters worse one of the guys on her team is a Villain that she busted years ago. The fight from that night is still fresh in her mind. The chaos and fire from the building burning around them. It was one of the hardest fights she'd ever won. She took a couple fingers off the guy's hand, left a cut on his face deep enough to scar, and had him tossed in prison for life. Or at least it was supposed to be for life until he was offered a deal with SDN to rehabilitate and become a Hero himself. It was the only way out of prison, and the only way to redeem himself. He doesn't know the past he shares with his new dispatcher but the two bicker and argue despite that. She decides to keep it a secret, but how long can she keep that secret? When the team starts to really come together and build trust they start asking what Hero she used to be... and it's getting harder and harder to keep it in. Revenge is also on her mind, returning to her hero work is always at the back of her mind, but can she leave the team after so much progress with them?

Let me know if this seems like your jam! I definitely want them to bicker and be smart asses to each other, to purposely get on each others nerves just to rile each other up, but I don't want it to cross the line of being outright crude and mean. A nice balance of good chemistry and sarcastic personalities. They butt heads often but they can't help but start liking each other.

Let me know your thoughts! Send me a message if you're interested with a bit of an intro and writing sample if possible. Thanks!
