This is dead.

Ferelden has just suffered a devastating defeat at the Battle of Ostagar; King Maric is dead, all the Grey Wardens perished in battle, and at least half of Ferelden's army died. Loghain Mac Tir declares himse lf Regent, and as Regent, he closes the border and labels all Grey Wardens as traitors.

There were some survivors from the Battle of Ostagar. This is the tale of two of them who were forever changed by that battle and the friends and enemies they make along the way.

Markus Mac Tir.jpg

Titles: Mage

Age: 23

Height: 6"0

Weight: 190lbs

Hair Color: Black

Eye Color: Brown

Class: Mage

Species: Human

Brief Bio: The son of the infamous Teryn Loghain. Markus was shipped away as a child to the Fereldan Circle where he resided until his recruitment to the army before the battle of Ostagar. While growing up in the Circle proved to be a trail for the Teryn's son, he exhibited his father's determination and ambition by throwing himself into his studies with wild abandon. Passing his Harrowing at the tender age of eighteen, and building strong relationships with the higher faculty within the tower. His reasoning being that if he couldn't leave the Circle, he would rule it as The First Enchanter instead. He was visited on occasion by his father and sister, and although their exchanges were pleasant enough, there was an undeniable distance that grew between them as the years passed. And although Markus would not admit it; he harboured a quiet resentment of his family enjoying such powerful positions in the great wide world beyond the barred doors of his prison for life.

Naturally he jumped at the chance to represent the Circle at the battle of Ostagar, seeing it as a chance to prove his worth to his fellow mages, his father, and the world at large. The disaster that followed however, was something no-one had counted on.

Name: Elodie

Age: 22

Appearance: Elodie Elf DAO.png
Height: 5'7
Weight: 140
Hair Color: Blonde
Eye Color: Grey

Class: Rogue
Species: Elf

Brief Bio:
Elodie was born in the great city of Val Royeaux, with it's towering white spires, beautiful people, and music playing constantly. Any traveller there would marvel at the city around them, bask in the splendor that was the capital of Orlais. But that was not the Val Royeaux that Elodie knew, hers was cramped and poor and struggling just to get by. She grew up in the Alienage of the city, tucked into the shadows. There were ten thousand elves living in an area the size of a market place, stacked a top of one another. It was a sad existence, but there were some joys in there too. There was the comradery that came with being with one own's people, there were the celebrations of the good times, and there was family.

Eventually, Elodie wanted to try and find a way out of the Alienage, to perhaps find a way out of the impoverished life she knew. Her chance came when a noble women by the name of Eustace Richelieu sent someone to the Alienage in search of new servants. Despite knowing it was little better than slavery, Elodie took the chance, as at least the servants got fed. From the age of ten upward, she would live in the manor, serving the mistress of the house in whatever way was requested. Over the years, Richelieu would notice the elven girl and she became one of her favored servants, accompanying her to events, balls, and on journeys. The Lady would eventually send Elodie off for training with a Bardmaster, wanting to get as much out of the girl as she could.

The elf would become a great bard, skilled most with her voice and the lyre, as well as with a pair of daggers. She would attend parties and events at Lady Richelieu's request, handling whatever deeds it was that wanted done. For the most part it was spy work, but she had a few assassinations under her belt as well. Elodie could see a life with this moving forward; she had a comfortable home, a doting mistress, and a purpose. That all fell through, however, when she messed up a job. She was meant to assassinate a young woman to keep her from marrying a noble man, but despite her hardened emotions and training, she couldn't do it. Instead helping her escape Val Royeaux. When this was found out by Richelieu, all of the kindness Elodie had been shown was imediately taken away. She was accused of thievery from the noble house, found guilty and sentenced to death. So, she ran. Elodie fled from Orlais to Ferelden, starting first in Redciffe, and intending continue moving through Ferelden until she reached Denerim and could disappear better. But a Blight and a battle in Ostegar left her stuck in Lothering.

Class: Warrior (Templar/Reaver)

Species: Qunari

Brief Bio:
Katari is a former Sten turned Tal-Vashoth who eventually left the Qun after being sent to the Ben-Hassrath twice for re-education. He just oddly never seemed to fit within Qunari society. As a free-spirited individual, the rigid structure of Qun was not for him. So when he turned 18, he fled his native country of Seheron and wound up in Rivain. He only spent a few months in Rivain before deciding to move south because of his close proximity to the Qunari base of Kont-arr, though he loved his time there because of the nature of its people. After leaving Rivain he travelled to Nevarra where he requested solace with the Chantry. They took him in after he was able to convince them of his disdain for the Qun and the Qunari ways. He then requested to be trained as a Templar. Because of his exceptional martial prowess, they Nevarran Chantry decided to take the risk and allow him to become a Templar despite his disinterest in the Andrastian faith. Within 2 years Katari completed his training and became a full fledged Templar. That winter, he joined a dragon hunting party and killed his first dragon as well. He already knew the ritual to become a Reaver from his time back in Seheron, so he drank the blood of his first dragon kill and further transformed himself.

A few years later he was relocated to the Ferelden Chantry. At first he was located in Denerim but eventually they sent him to the small town of Lothering.

Name: Garon Merlmas

Titles: Warrior Caste

Age: 26

Appearance: TBA

Height: 4"11

Weight: 205

Hair Color: Brown

Eye Color: Brown

Class: Warrior

Species: Dwarf

Brief Bio: Born into the Warrior Caste in the city of Orzammar, Garon was the youngest of five siblings and was never allowed to forget it. Life is tough for the middle caste, even one as highly regarded as the warriors, and even tougher for the baby of the litter. Garon was forced to endure being a punching bag from his older siblings during the military training he was expected to endure. However, after reaching maturity, the not-so-friendly sparring sessions became fewer and further between. The young dwarf cut his teeth in battle by aiding the Legion of the Dead during one of their many excursions into the deep roads in their never ending quest to regain the old Thaigs. After years of these sporadic trips to the forgotten depths, and coming to accept that he was unlikely to ever recieve much in the way of inheritance, Garon decided to become an official member of the Legion. However, the news of the Blight on the surface reaching Orzammer ultimately made him change his mind. The dwarf, along with a squadron of Dwarfish warriors, elected to leave the city and take the fight to the darkspawn directly by seeking to join the Grey Wardens.

Equipment: Red steel heavy armour (full helmet)
Merlmas Family Battle-axe (expert silverite rune)

Name:Katrin Wallner
Titles: Grey Warden(Former Captain of the Denerim Guard)
Age: 26

Appearance: Warden.jpg
Height: 5'8
Weight: 250
Hair Color: Red
Eye Color: Blue

Class: Warrior
Species: Human

Brief Bio: Katrin was the daughter of a high ranking Ferelden noble that could trace it's lineage back to the First Blight. The Wallners were responsible for safeguarding the south western port of Ferelden and as a result, grew rather rich. Their navy was regarded as fierce but Orlais would have destroyed them, if they hadn't sided with the invaders. Her parents were executed by the rebels after a pitched battle for the port and the almighty Wallner family was gone. Their names? Erased from history. The port? Reduced to rubble during the fighting. Their fall was massive. She was born as a penniless woman who depended on her brother. Her brother was somewhat decent with a sword and shield. His work as a sword for hire took them all over the kingdom but it was mostly guard work. Her brother started to drink whatever pay he earnt and at the age of 15, she had enough of taking care of him. She left him at Highever and never looked back whilst posing as a caravan guard.

She joined the Denerim Guard as soon as she was able to and worked her way up over the decade. She had only been a captain for a mere 6 months when noble politics happened. She was framed for the murder of several merchants and framed for stealing from the Guard. However, her skills with the Greatsword was known and her raids on bandits had a high success rate, often with her taking on two to three bandits at once. So, she was given a choice: Join the Wardens or rot in prision. She immediately agreed to join the wardens and their trials were some of the toughest things she ever did.

Since then, she has served them well and was sent to the Kirkwall Wardens. However, she was sent to Ferelden to help bolster their numbers and her four years of service had helped to develop a decent eye for potential recruits along with her short lived position as Captain. She failed to arrive in time for the battle due to several leads and is sorta stuck in Ferelden.

Full set of Gilded plate armour(see the picture)
