Ferelden has just suffered a devastating defeat at the Battle of Ostagar; King Maric is dead, all the Grey Wardens perished in battle, and at least half of Ferelden's army died. Loghain Mac Tir declares himself Regent, and as Regent, he closes the border and labels all Grey Wardens as traitors.
There were some survivors from the Battle of Ostagar. This is the tale of two of them who were forever changed by that battle and the friends and enemies they make along the way.
