So I have this detailed plot idea that's been sitting on one of my other rp websites for some time now with no progress. I figured why not?
Some info before you read: I prefer a 80-20 plot-smut ratio (smut being pretty vanilla for the most part though we can discuss details much later on in pms). I typically average out between 3-7 paragraphs, preferring detail over anything. This is very plot focused with romance eventually coming into play. I normally respond at least once a day (I work crazy hours especially with this coronavirus stuff happening) but will try to respond more. I'll message if I'm going to be gone for an extended period of time.
There's tons of ideas for y/c, just send me a pm and we can get this started!

At the beginning of time, there only existed pure, raw energy. From here there is often debate over what came next whether it be the divine intervention of a higher power or simply the next step in evolution. Regardless of the cause the result ended up being the same. Dragons. Specifically five dragons.
These dragons came into existence at a parallel time to the first of mankind. They themselves were made of energy only they now controlled specific elements of life that fit together to create unity. The humans grew to worship these dragons in glorious feasts and washing them in awe and dedication. People began to cry out in prayers to these beings and little did they know every prayer was heard.
These dragons began to see the humans as deserving. After all, if they were committed to a life of devotion for them now, they should be even more so after receiving a gift. So the dragons converged one fateful evening known as the First Dance; an event where the five dragons spun through the air and combined their energies into a controlled force with a common goal in mind. Their intent was key and their profound connection to one another vital in this ceremony. It was then at the same time around the whole universe that rain started to fall and magic was born.
Magic seemed to serve its intended purpose for awhile which was bringing the dragons and humans closer together. Devotion continued to spread as humans learned to harness these newfound talents. Prosperity spread to many lands and happiness befell the most cynical.
Yet, as we all know, darkness is born out of the absence of light. The great dragons themselves would soon be victims to that.
Selfishness, greed, lust, need I say more? Corrupt hearts began to use their magic to sate their hunger for more power, conquest and glory. The dragons became saddened at the world they were seeing start to unfold. Unfortunately, when the dragons had initially transformed from simple energy to physical bodies, those came with limitations. Religious scholars would go on to state it was a curse designed by the gods to maintain balance. Others would say it was a reminder that everything could be fragile if you just learned how to break it.
These unspeakable evils rose in alarming amounts, and nothing could be done to stop it. The dragons had thought removing the magical essence they had given to the humans might be the solution but it was a gift that could not be undone. Magic had seeped into the fibers of the soul; to remove that was to ruin both all the evil and the good. So they hoped by balancing the world with storms and plagues they could weed out the bad. As we all know, storms and illnesses have no preference for humans so long as the environment is right for them to thrive. It was at this point dark magic began to thrive through the lands, magic that could only be conquered by the small traces of lingering energy left behind by one of the five dragons.
As stated previously, there are five dragons born of pure energy. When they were given (or developed) physical bodies, each of them was bestowed a unique trait. We call them "elements".
First born was the fire dragon. The infernos from their flame encased the universe in warmth and are the reason for the stars that line the night sky.
Next was the water dragon. When the universe was created, there required a certain energy to even out fire. It is thanks to this dragon that we have the raging seas and stormy skies.
Water's twin is earth. They were manifested at the same moment, a complimentary force. The universe was littered in planets and moons upon its reincarnation.
Wind is the second youngest and sometimes unpredictable. It is the very air we breathe and the breeze that carries a birds wings through the sky.
Finally, the youngest of all the dragons, is spirit. This one is one of the main components as to why the world has life. While the other dragons provided the basic necessities for life to exist, there was this essence of "soul" that was needed and spirit provided.
When the First Dance happened, the spirit dragon was responsible for ensuring the gift given would be compatible among mankind. After all, if energy was transferred incorrectly it could have resulted in many, many deaths.
Anyways, the lingering rain that didn't litter the skin of humans and animals was absorbed into the soils of the earth, eventually reaching the core. It was with the heat of this core that the magic was manipulated. After all, planets have spirits too, spirits that want to live. Is it so impossible to imagine that hidden energy could be pulled and used for evil intent? I wouldn't think so. With the humans longing for more and more magic, magic even the dragons were unfamiliar with, there grew to be many wars. Some humans fought in allegiance with the deities they'd come to revere. Many wanted to take control of the dragons and use their powers to conquer the universe. A select five, who would come to be known as the Chosen, truthfully wanted to understand the make-up of their creation better. They wanted to protect the sanctity of magic. There were more people like them that existed but is these crucial five who come to aide the dragons in their desperate time of need.
It was known as the Great War of Avon, the central planet for where this chaos was bred. While other planets had just as intelligent life on it, the dragons invested large portions of time into Avon, hoping to perfect it before moving along to the rest of the universe. This war lasted two hundred years with millions of lives lost. Texts would eventually lose track of whose side held a higher moral compass and countless heroes would be portrayed on either side. In the end, it would come down to the simple knowledge that there was no more good versus evil but rather whose thirst was greater than another.
These two hundred years tired the dragons, who had been the subject of assassination attempts and imprisonment. The Chosen would assist in their escape during their last recorded sighting and seemingly taken away. They would vanish and never be seen as the fantastic dragons floating through the clouds. Yet they would not be gone per say. Simply, taking on a new form.
When the Chosen rescued the dragons, they sensed their exhaustion and offered a solution. A place for them to safeguard their magical reserve in the last place anyone might detect: themselves. The dragons, understanding the true intent of these Chosen decided to do just that. The transference ceremony was rumored to have taken place in mountains that grazed the sky. The Chosen would come to be known as the strongest magic wielders in history, guardians of elemental energy and proponents of peace. Though no one ever saw them fight, there were only whispers in the shadows, their deeds would always be noticed. They watched over the common people especially, completely innocent to the world around them being torn apart. It was thanks to the Chosen that the war eventually ended with both sides kept in a tentative peace. It was far from ideal but the Chosen were tired. It had been an especially gruesome task to bear and it was fifty years after the war ended that they decided their watch was over.
The dragon's magic had allowed the human vessels to live as long as they needed to. Once they felt secure in the world they left behind, they allowed the energy of their dragons to be passed down to another worthy. So the watch continued for another five hundred years.
Now there are stirrings of unrest. Dark magic is starting to seep into the lands once more as a powerful king rises, claiming that he alone should wield the might of all five dragons. So he starts a hunt for the current guardians of such energy. He hopes that with that kind of power he can control the universe and bend it to his will. A perfect utopia. Unfortunately, with the many years passing without a need for the dragons, they've been separated. Generations have passed since the dragons have been united in a sacred bond but the energy knows it is needed. It can feel the sadness of those who have become oppressed. Yet their guardians hide for now there is fear. This dark king has implanted the notion that the dragons are unsafe when left untamed. Even the most devoted have turned their backs on the long lost heroes, leaving them to their own devices.
A rebellion has started to spark the midst of this massive witch hunt, a rebellion calling for the return of the five dragons to unite and firmly end the war. There is some small talk among villagers that one of the leaders of the rebellion may be a dragon himself, issuing a cry out for his fellow kind. Regardless, eyes are now peeled for individuals who bear the Sacred Scars, a series of runes depicted all over a Chosen's flesh that harbor the magic within.
With war on the horizon, the question remains as to whether or not the dragons will truly reunite, or if they've lost hope in the world they've created.

Full name: Princess Calina Danaye Montgomery
Nickname(s): Cali, Snow
Age: 23
Species: Half-human, half-fairy
Dragon: Spirit
Parents: King Damien Montgomery and Queen Amellia Montgomery (both deceased)
Home: The Fallen Kingdom of Demalia
Height: 5' 3"
Weight: 132 lbs
Physical appearance (human form): Upon looking at Calina, she is the true depiction of regalia and grace. Like most fae, her hair is a silvery blonde and falls just above her waist and every strand is perfectly straightened. Her facial features are soft with wide eyes and full lips. At the tender age of nine she was gifted the spirit dragon, giving her intricate Sacred Scars that trail from her collarbones to her ankles in swirl patterns detailing everything from constellations to the seas themselves. What sets her apart is the symbol emblazoned to her chest, the spirit circle. Upon the transference of energy her eyes changed from a bright green to a stone grey, everything about her almost ghost-like.
In her time as a princess, Calina was typically seen in beautiful gowns that proudly showed off her markings. Nowadays, she wears dark clothing that conceals every inch of marked skin and hoods. Her hands have become calloused from surviving in treacherous conditions.
Physical appearance (dragon form): Though she has yet to unlock her dragon form, drawings show that the spirit dragon was a stone gray, much like Celina's eyes now. The same markings that litter her skin were present on its scales and wings but in even greater detail. Exact measurements of wingspan and height are unknown.
History: Born to a life of seemingly unlimited luxury, Celina was doted on to be the perfect princess. Although her homelands were war torn, her parents did their best to create a strong heir. They had hopes that by the time their time as rulers was done, th world might be a better place for her to take the throne.
When Celina was almost nine, an elderly man visited the castle under the guise of a priest. He revealed to the royal family the markings on his skin and insisted that the next dragon guardian be someone with the right power and influence. Marveled at what they now held, her parents organized a transference ceremony without much consultation on their daughter's part. Nonetheless, Celina was receptive at first to the challenge. She was but a naive little girl with dreams of peace and prosperity, like so many well-intended rulers before her.
Shortly after her scars appeared, her parents boastfully proclaimed their weapon to the world. They thought the incoming invasions by the rumored "Dark King" would cause hesitation, perhaps even fear. Unfortunately for them, their pride would be their downfall. However, it would not be by the Dark King.
Other greedy kingdoms soon began a fiery war that young Celina didn't know how to stop. In a moment of panic, her parents ushered out via the servants quarters and had her sent away to a trusted family friend. It was from the hidden carriage she'd watch her world burn and the kingdom of Demalia fall. She would eventually learn she was also one of the few left of her kind.
Understanding now the seriousness of who she was, Celina soon became accustomed to a life on the run. She traverses between lands now, unsure of what to seek. She wants revenge for her parents, her lost kingdom and throne, but she knows blood being split will only sate for so long. Does she aid the world by ending the war or letting it rip itself apart, and hope to start anew?
Personality: stubborn, cold, articulate, snarky, compassionate, strong
Abilities: Can sense the presence of magic throughout the world, especially in connection to people's inherent abilities -She can see/read auras -She can extract magical energy from others at a great cost (essentially, she can forcefully remove people's magic but it greatly weakens her) or repress it for short amounts of time (without it taking as much of a toll) -Can help dragon guardians shift into their dragon forms -Mind reading (she can hear whispers of voices constantly and usually actively represses that) -Enhanced speed, strength and agility (she's not OP though, don't worry. She's not even close to being a trained warrior) -As a fae, she can perform magic which is enhanced by the spirit dragon. She also has knowledge of dark magic as well. Most of the spells she knows are offensive and earth based (drawing from rocks and trees). -There's other abilities the spirit dragon is capable of, but she hasn't learned them yet.
