since i'm returning to the site full force, there is one story i've been dying to write with someone since ... forever, basically. as the prefix says, it's going to be a mxm story, taking place in ancient china ( picture danmei, wuxia, xianxia, etc. ), where the emperor falls in love with a captivating courtesan who dances during a banquet that's being thrown for said emperor's birthday. the plan is for the story to be a mixture of romance, heavy angst and some political content.
now, i don't claim to be an expert in chinese culture or politics and it doesn't have to be 100% realistic and we can include low fantasy themes, such as cultivation, magical swords, spells, etc.
the plot follows this youthful courtesan, famous for his good looks and majestic dance skills. during the emperor's birthday, his general secretly invites said courtesan to dance for the emperor as a small gift. the emperor is captivated by him and takes instant interest, despite his cruel wife's distaste for that and her desperate desire to remove the courtesan from the equation, in fear that her husband will dethrone her and have her replaced. we can have other NPCs in the story, sunch as the emperor's cruel or kind offspring, servants, the general who invited the courtesan in the first place and even servants who take a liking to him due to his kindness.

- you must be able to write a dominant, monarch character.
- replies must be 200+ words at least. longer is fine, but please, no one liners.
- i'm a slow replier at times, so patience is appreciated.
- 3rd person, past tense.
- smut will be present, so you must be comfortable with writing it out.
- you don't need a faceclaim, but it helps me visualise the character.
- nothing taboo, or against TOS.
- no noncon or dubcon, the courtesan will be willing to sleep with the emperor.
- must be somewhat familiar with the ancient china setting.
- you must be comfortable with violence, language, alcohol and other potentially heavy themes that might be mentioned in the story
- while certain canon characters from danmei / wuxia / xianxia may be alright, i won't write against moran from 2ha. generally oc's are preferred for this
