In another time, another planet there were the remains of the human race, yet again segregated by a bloody history.
In these ancient times, their original planet was dying. It was to be from a poetic supernova, however, the human race was stubborn enough and fought to survive. Even though they were the ones that brought forth the early destruction of their own home world. Years of research had been placed into finding a suitable new home for the humans, and technology had to be advanced enough to travel light years away to reach this new world. Yet by some miracle this was possible. And the greater deal of the human population with their plants were somehow transported to this new home world.
At first, things appeared hard, yet with a bright future foretold on the horizon. Humans returned to their roots, starting anew with less technology in various settlements. However, all of the knowledge of the first home world was not lost.
The dangers of this new world were discovered soon. And the difficulty of finding and maintaining resources became apparent. It would be more practical if there were only a limited amount of population to care for. And the selection was made easy under the guise of "morals."
People with past criminal records, dangerous mental illness and their offspring were immediately thrown out of the settlements to fend for themselves. Yet it was not enough, next only those that were useful with knowledge, skill or showed potential of having this were kept into the settlements that melted together until there were only four. Soldiers were trained and formed to keep the outsiders out, who formed tribes of their own. While the settlements evolved over the span of a century until great cities were built, impervious by the outsiders. The cities reached for the skies, moving further and further from the ground full of monsters and barbarians, while the descendants of those forgotten became wild and feral. Cannibals, psychos, barbarians.
And this is where our characters would start to meet.
One of the wealthiest cities of the three is governed by an old, dying man with both a son and daughter. The son, his favorite, was meant to be next minister, being loved by the public, a handsome face and charm that his older sister simply does not possess. Yet, by the unexpected early death of their father, the son is kidnapped (most likely by his sister) to prevent him from taking his rightful place as governor. Too eloquent to kill him, she simply has her people drop him off in the middle of the hinterlands below, where there is nothing but sand as far as the eye could see. The psychos would get hold of him soon, unless the sand worms got to him first.
This is where our characters meet. Our fragile boy used to wealth and luxury is captured by a tribe of frightening looking humanoids, some mutated and not really human. He is brought before their leader who offers to hand him over to a tribe as a peace offering, but the leader`s sister jumps in, having other ideas. Will he be saved, or would bringing dinner to the wastes have been a better fate?
The story could progress as to where he can return to the city to take his rightful place, we can discuss more details in a PM.
Note that also the reverse is possible! You yourself could play the heiress and I could take on the role of the insane psycho. A choice we would discuss in PM of course if interested.
(Inspired mainly by Mad Max, Borderlands, and a previous roleplay.)
And with that being the starter and hook, hello! I'm Snowblind as I'm sure you have already read. I'll do the usual intro because being creative is oddly not my strong suit. I've been roleplaying for on and off, about ten years. Mainly based in forums but with small experience in real time text chat over some games.
What would you be able to expect from me?
Paragraphs! I can confirm from personal and previous knowledge that I am able to write paragraph long posts. I like to strive for 300-500 words a post, with that usually ending up being 2-3 paragraphs. That being 6-7 sentences per paragraph. That's what I was taught in school is a decent standard and it hasn't failed me yet.
Comedy! (Good or bad.) Jokes will be told and things will be laughed at. Of course I know when not to slip on a banana when a serious moment is happening but I do like inserting comedy into my own roleplays.
Fast responses! I am on this website a lot, and will check it constantly. Does this mean you'll get a reply right away? Of course not, lets be reasonable here. But PMs are a high priority, so a message will be seen quite promptly!
Three things is all I can think of currently, I want to keep this mainly shorter so I can put this out and sit on it. I should probably at this rate put up a main request board for my roleplays but who has the time for that? Anyways.
What do I want from you?
More Paragraphs! Well, not strictly more, but at least to keep up with my own goals shown above! You are reading those, right?
Comedy! Or the ability to deal with my own comedy bits
Responses! I'm hoping for a partner that can at least respond once a week hopefully? Or every other? Lets go with every other week at minimum.
Lastly, Communication! Talk to me! We don't need to have a constant banter between each other but keep up with me if you have ideas or thoughts on the roleplay, or have something happen and need a pause for a bit! I'd love to hear ideas and be more than welcome to a pause if needed.
This is long enough, hopefully I will hear from you, yes you, soon! (Also first post request so be gentle. Do message if anything should be cleaned up!
