Hello Hello! I am Cooks! and I am looking for a long-term story with a new friend! I have been at it for many years, I write third person, past-tense, and average adv-lit - novella.
Here is the idea that I came up with. I've been kind of wanting to try it for some time, so if you're interested, please reach out!
(The Lord can be changed)
It's a period romance! Taking place in the mid to late 1800s- Something Jane Eyre-esque with the possibility to go from SOL to horror. It begins when Sophie finds a job as the head housekeeper at the Briar Manor out in the countryside of England. She is of an immigrant mother and found it incredibly difficult to find a job so that she could have a bit of independence. At first, the relationship with the Lord of the house is strained and awkward. He is aloof and mysterious. But as their romance blossoms, an evil is brewing beneath the manor, oozing through its walls. A curse.
Long before the Lord took over the manor, his great, great, great uncle made a deal with something nefarious in exchange for wealth and power. The Lord's family had owned that land for many years, poor farmers. WHen they suddenly came into cash, they built a large manor with a garden and nearby pond. They hired farm hands and lived comfortably.
But now, the deal must be completed. The first born girl would be sacrificed to this evil. There had been nothing but boys for many decades. Will that continue with the Lord's lineage?
When this evil is not satisfied, it decides to take revenge on the Lord, Sophie, and all they come into contact with. The torture grows until they have no choice but to fight back. But, how? And will they accomplish this impossible task?
