Gold Crows are one of the most fascinating birds in the world. Their feathers are tinged with actual gold and collecting them can be worth a great deal of money. However, in captivity, Gold Crows lose this quality and their feathers revert to a fully black/purple pigmentation. It is assumed that this is due to some element of the Gold Crow's diet in the wild, or perhaps even related to the locations in which they choose to live, but whatever the case is, these majestic birds cannot be farmed in captivity.

Finding a Gold Crow feather is often considered to be an extremely good omen.
