Greetings, my name is Rye (like the grain). I would say I've been roleplaying for ~8 years, though I have only ever done it with a single person, so I am not very familiar with how other people tend to go about it. I typically aim for 2-3 paragraph replies, but I feel sometimes it's better not to force a length, especially if dialogue is heavy. I could see that sentiment changing when writing in a forum, however. I love fantasy and darker themes, but I'm not too strict so long as there is a good idea involved. I try my best to write eloquently, but it's not something I stress too much about (though I am a chronic synonym googler). I enjoy a strong focus on character development, so I attempt to make very flawed characters.
I primarily came on here to browse around and maybe gather some inspiration to help me get back into writing. Because so much of my work is objective and logic-based, I've lost a lot of the creativity and expressiveness I used to have (not that there is no creative work in my field, I'm just usually not the one doing it).
I'm frequently busy, as I am a full-time college student and a pharmacy technician. I'm usually not free until after 8pm, and Sunday is my only day off. It is what it is. I would say I'm very shy and somewhat socially inept, but I'm trying particularly hard to get out of my comfort zone and try new things. I don't bite. You can think of me as you would a spider: I'm 100% more terrified of you than you are of me. Unless you have arachnophobia, in which case you can pick some other mildly timid animal and use your imagination. If you are familiar with the stereotypes for computer science students, you're basically already familiar with me. TLDR; I long for human connection much like everyone else.
I have a plethora of nerdy, stupid interests which you should be wary of mentioning around me unless you're prepared for yapfest. I love math, coding, keyboards, metal music, computers, video games, v8 energy (highly recommend, actual nectar of the gods), and pharmacology.
I don't really have any expectations, but I'm hoping to meet some people and get some more writing experience. Many thanks for reading my autobiography.
