I Pull Levers
The Concept: The Human Covenant war is over. With the Sangheili Ceasefire of 2552 and a combined attack by human and Sangheili forces on the Ark, the Covenant was shattered. Now, humanity seeks to drive what remains of the genocidal alien pact out of the milky way entirely. After dedicating numerous battle groups to hunting down and engaging various ex-Covenant warlords, humanity makes one of its first major discoveries since the beginning of the war in 2525.
A lone Epoch Class Heavy Carrier, dubbed The Spirit of Harvest, in remembrance of the first human colony to fall at the onset of the war, comes across an uncharted planet on the very edge of the galaxy. Little is known of the roughly Venus sized find, accept for one crucial fact. It is transmitting a Covenant signal.
The Planet: I wanted this planet to be one of fantasy, something similar to that of the atmosphere presented in DND, but minus most the magic from the franchise and with reverse engineered covenant weaponry added. Whether the contingent of covenant that fell to the planet are still alive or not is still something I'm trying to figure out. But surely the combination of their tech and likeness would've propelled them into godhood amongst the world's population. Perhaps some kingdom was better at figuring out their tech than others, allowing them to wield laser staffs and create plasma infused potions. The possibilities are endless really.
All that being said, the reason I want to limit the magic (mainly the casting of unassisted spells like shooting lightning and throwing fireballs) is because it would make these technological jumps less impactful in the world. Again, I still am figuring out the details, but the atmosphere I'm trying to create is one that mixes medieval tech with ranged lasers.
In Closing: It's a crazy idea, I know. But it was one that a really wanted to try out, considering that Reach just dropped on PC and MCC for other platforms. I'd also been tempted to do a modern/futuristic military meets fantasy world rp for some time. The fact that there are literally hundreds of colonized worlds in Halo, with not even the entire galaxy discovered yet, makes that something pretty easy to do in that universe.
