Hi, I'm Vampiress!
I have been writing for 15+ years, covering a wide range of genres, topics, characters, etc. I've written just about everything, even if I've only tried some things once. Supernatural stories are my bread and butter, but I also enjoy slice-of-life stories that carry heavier and darker themes, hence this request thread!

I aim to reply to stories weekly, though sometimes I am able to reply more frequently. I am a full-time graduate student, sometimes things get hectic, other times I have a more open schedule. My posts average five to eight paragraphs, somewhere between 800 to 2,000 words. The more I am given to go off of, the more I am able to write in return. I write in the third-person perspective, and will not write in the first-person, as I find it to be uncomfortable. I am not my character, so I do not write as though I am. Romance is something included in most of my stories. While this story is a bit darker than most of my other stories, romance (in the loosest of definitions) is something I anticipate, even if it is beyond broken. Hate sex, drug fueled relations, and maybe even some fleeting moments of real happiness/connection (likely further into the story.) That being said, while I normally do not mind if my partner wants to fade-to-black, this is not one of those stories.

Below I have a new character, along with a prompt for the type of story I am interested in writing for him. This story will involve darker themes. I do not have many hard limits. One I do have, is that I do not write any kind of bathroom play, urine, feces, etc. Other than that, I find I am able to write most other things. Expect violence (both towards random people in the story and domestic violence), substance abuse, emotional/verbal abuse, self-harm, obsession, endangerment of others, and more.

Name: Elijah “Eli” Greyson
Age: 28
Gender: Male

Good examples were something Elijah had gone his entire childhood without. Parents who fought, the flames of anger fueled by whatever substance ran through their veins on any given day. Money spent on alcohol, cigarettes, and pills of various shapes and sizes. Food came last and Elijah often went to be hungry. School provided him most of his meals, making weekends particularly hard. Friends might have helped him, if he had any.

Elijah hadn’t started out being unpopular. In fact, Elijah’s lack of friends growing up was of no fault of his own. People of the town knew his parents– they certainly didn’t want to subject their children to such an environment. Nobody ever thought to help, Elijah. Instead, they shunned him.

Reaching high school provided some relief, if that was what one could call it. No longer was he stuck in small town schools. The local high school only accommodated so many kids, which meant that Elijah was bussed to the nearest city school. Nobody knew who he was there, or who his parents were, but the damage had already been done. Elijah fell in with the wrong group of people and before long, he found that he might have been just like his parents.

The alcohol and drugs served as temporary relief from the misery that was Elijah’s existence. Any party he was invited to, he attended. Any substance he was offered, he would take. Any reckless dare was just another way to feel alive, so of course he would accept. How he had managed to survive, much less finish high school, was beyond him. Yet, he had– just barely– and certainly not with the grades to get into any kind of college.

As soon as he was legally old enough, Elijah had left home. He started out staying with friends, while working whatever trash jobs were thrown his way. Eventually, Elijah landed himself a factory job… lets be honest, this would be his career. He was going nowhere fast. To secure the job he had used the urine of a friend to pass the required drug test, the company none the wiser. It paid enough to allot Elijah the financial means to afford a small, one bedroom apartment, located in the worst part of town. Except, Elijah fit right in. Just one floor up in the deteriorating apartment complex was the man in which Elijah bought the best pills from– it was quite convenient, if he did say so himself.

With the money of the factory job came the ability to buy even more of the substances he regularly abused and even those he didn’t. Somehow, Elijah had yet to hit rock bottom, but soon he would. Missing days of work had already landed him in trouble; if he didn’t pull himself together then they would certainly let him go from his position.

Unresolved trauma severed to mix with everything wrong that Eli was doing to himself. He found himself wondering what point life had. Shortly after, Eli overdosed. Unfortunately for him, he had done so in his car, parked off the side of the road. Somebody had found him and called for him. It had saved him. Where relief should have been, he found himself disappointed. Did Eli want to die? He wasn’t sure. Partying and drugging were fun– he wanted to keep going, living life “to its fullest.” There was also no denying that they no longer made him feel alive in the ways they once did. Something else would have to do that. He needed something more.

Fighting was the next best thing. Fights with strangers in bars. Fights with romantic partners, who were just as strung out and broken as he was. Elijah was the spitting image of his father. Drinking led to anger, which led to abuse, followed by a shift in emotions where he would sob and beg forgiveness from those he hurt. This was especially true in those he found himself sleeping with. Who would fall victim to his instability next? Was anyone going to come and save him? By now, Elijah knew the answer. There was no being saved. He was in Hell and he would drag everyone down with him.
General Plot Idea: For this story I am looking for something on the dark side. Think domestic violence, substance abuse, angst, obsession, self-harm, etc. I imagine two character types to play against Elijah. A female character just as broken and damaged as he is– hooked on various substances, no steady job/housing arrangements, keeps falling into doomed relationships because it’s just a habit at this point. OR A female character who is innocent, maybe even a bit naive in her strongheaded belief that she can help make him better. Has dabbled with something less serious, like marijuana; maybe she partied in her college years, but is by no means an addict. The classic good girl meets bad boy, etc. For either female character, I want there to be an obsession addict (going both ways). The two get together, just can’t get enough of each other, won’t ever allow the other to walk away. Think, “If I can’t have you nobody can” and “only I can hurt you like that,” all rolled into one!

I also would love to hash out a more solid plot for the story with any potential partner. The above is more a prompt, rather than a realized plot. So, if you have ideas, let me hear them! Plotting and OOC are perfect for me. If you have a character you think will go good with Elijah and the prompt you can also share that with me!

Feel free to shoot me a message!
