Important note: I like the males opposite to my female characters to be beautiful, I highly appreciate beauty and I find it fascinating when a beautiful face hides a dominant and aggressive personality.

In the future, Earth's climate has been in drastic decline without scientific breakthroughs to stop it in sight.
An alien species has reached out to Earth with a message of peace, wishing to use some of their technology to heal the planet in exchange for friendship… and one other request that they stress only involves volunteers…
This alien race is in severe decline as it seems over the past few hundred years, fewer and fewer females are being born to their species and in their advanced scientific state, they know way better than to involve inbreeding.
However, their research has turned up that the only other species close enough to them in the universe that would be biologically compatible enough for reproduction is the human race. A young and versatile species seemingly capable of breeding just about any other species in the universe.
So in exchange for their planet saving technology, among other useful technologies that could heavily benefit the human race, the aliens request that human female VOLUNTEERS, NOT FORCED, agree to come aboard their mother ship and go through a compatibility program that will match each human female volunteer to an unpaired male and those two will be married, they will journey to the alien homeworld and begin work on starting their family.
MC is an eighteen year old orphan being kicked out of the orphanage for being too old, though she was in the process of applying to work there in order to keep a safe place to live... at least until the whole alien 'volunteer bride' thing came along...
It got MC thinking, she has no family left alive and working for the orphanage wouldn't really pay very much, she really only considered it to avoid the streets... so before she can chicken out, MC submits her application to the government to be one of these volunteers. It's no shock that she is quickly accepted after a doctor visit provides confirmation that she is clean of any diseases or health concerns, plus no family to protest her decision and make her back out.
When MC applied, she thought she'd get paired with some nice alien of their middle class equivalent... she never thought she'd get paired up with their crown prince!!
