Hello! Call me Mia. I used to roleplay online frequently up until about 6 years ago. I am not entirely sure what happened, but my online endeavors reached a swift and sudden end. I am looking forward to getting back into the swing of things here!
I have found in writing I have a wonderful time writing as one specific character in any story. Coming up with the inner workings of a character and figuring out how the interact with the world they live in is a fascinating process for me. I do find, however, that I have trouble creating other characters and figuring out how they play into the story at large or how they would interact with a character that I create. This, as I am sure you can understand, is why I have never successfully written a story on my own. I discovered at a young age, however, the story telling power of a group of people.
D&D is a love of mine and will remain so for the entirety of my life. Although combat can be fun and the game system is designed specifically for combat, my favorite element of playing is the character growth and interaction. Even when I think I know exactly how my character would react in a situation, it is fascinating to see how wrong I can be when it comes to interacting with other players. I also love seeing how my character, as well as everyone else's characters, grow into almost real entities throughout interactions in the story.
This being said, I also am infatuated with the written word. Although I am not an expert in prose or poetry, I love to write or type. I also love to read or listen to audio books. The magic that I find in immersing myself in a world foreign to my own is intoxicating. I often find myself wondering what life might be like in Middle Earth or how I would fair in a zombie style apocalypse. The joy of fantasy can be so easily welded to the joy of writing and I love nothing more than seeing how a character of my creation might interact with a creation of another.
I am excited to have found this wonderful forum and am looking forward to playing with all of you on this site! May your pen be ever poised and your imagination never falter!
Yours, Mia Faye
