Hello, Sanctum.
My name is Lanis, and I've deleted the first three attempts I've already made at writing this introduction. No wool to be pulled over anybody's eyes, I'm going to do that as your writing partner. I overthink, quantify, and sweat the details - I won't drop a mediocre post. I mull the words over; I murmur them until they taste right.
I started roleplaying in 2001... On the Neoboards, god forbid, when I was 11. I was obsessive and passionate about it for more than a decade, and wrapped myself into years-long story arcs with my writing partners. Character development was my f*cking lifeblood well into my twenties.
I hate - hate - to admit that an unfortunate and abusive IRL relationship really smothered that flame. My ex-partner systemically eliminated my passions and hobbies. I've been slowly clawing them up out of the ashes over the last 5 years, and this may well be the one thing I want back the most. No joke, I am so rusty... but I'll polish up quick.
I am genderfluid, fluxfemme, and queer. I have a much more extensive history of playing men and nonbinary individuals than I do women, but I currently bear no preferences therein. Sexuality and violence are both in my wheelhouse, but I generally prefer their presence to be a 'natural' part of the story progression, rather than super-centric. I lean more toward LGBTQ+-presenting relationships than heteronormative ones, but the latter have their place and purpose. *shrug*
I can't exactly pinpoint a genre for y'all, but tend to prefer Extraordinary circumstances of some kind, elements of magic or science fiction. Witchcraft, the occult, multidimensionalism, futuretech, etc. I have a dark, wry sense of humor, and a lot of weird, niche knowledge. Period pieces, modern concepts, and certain fandoms all appeal to my sensibilities.
Thanks for reading! I hope this catches someone's eye - I would love to write something cool with you.
