hello there! my name's alister, a bored college student majoring in english literature. i'm not a native english speaker but i'm proud of my fluency. when stuff gets stressful, i prefer to run off to roleplaying to escape reality. it's the only hobby i'm very passionate about. i love creating original characters, talking to others about theirs, coming up with plot twists and doing character studies. i've been roleplaying for 4 years, a very short time as compared to experienced people on this site but i believe i've considerably improved over the years. from a couple of sentences to multiple paragraphs. speaking of paragraphs, i'm very much into advanced long-term literate roleplay; 800 words or more. it just feels more professional and creative. a character's thought process, their emotions and mannerisms being explained in the responses are just so good to read.

i'm too lazy to be a part of any fandom, so original plotlines are what i stick to. i'm more into roleplays based around the modern world rather than medieval or dystopian. i prefer to explore characters, not worlds. something too complicated like D&D-esque stories and i start to tweak out lol. i'm a big sucker for romance, be it dark or light, in roleplays. my favorite pairing would be mxm but i guess i kinda lean towards mxf too? i don't know, it depends on the plot and the character.

i think that's about it. this intro is getting too long and i don't want to start yapping. i'll admit that i posted an intro late but i got distracted with exploring the site! have a nice day ^^​

Second! I bet you're wondering how to start Role Playing and where to go! I think it's pretty fun to explore the forums, and I highly recommend doing so! Most thread homes, if not all, have a pinned post at the top of them to tell you what goes there! However, the Request Threads are pretty self explanatory; Here's a Link! There's plenty to look through, but you could also build your very own! Tell people what you're all about and get those writing partners! Take your time though; there's never any pressure! If you were looking for an open story you can just jump in straight away, you can find them in Unfinished Tales!​
Next, I just want to share some of the other wonderful places in Sanctum! There's plenty to do while waiting on replies or to give yourself a break every now and then!
