Hi there! Honestly I'm pretty terrible at introducing myself, but I'll do my best.
My name is Melody. Feel free to shorten it to Mel if you like. That doesn't bother me at all! I've been writing on various forums for what feels like an eternity now, so I'm well-versed in all things RP. This is the first time I've been on a site of this nature though, and I'm just returning from a long hiatus, so I'm pretty excited to dive back in and see what this is all about. I tend to favor any and all things Fantasy, but I'm open-minded and always eager to explore other genres as well. I also thoroughly enjoy delving into dark and gritty subject matter and thrive on writing characters that are irredeemably flawed or morally-grey. I always invite the partners I write with to throw me curve balls and unpredictable scenarios and surprises as far as our story is concerned! There's something about having to think on my feet (and never knowing what's going to happen next) that really excites and challenges me. I also tend to experiment with POV and tenses, but will always default to whatever my partner prefers, since I like to be flexible that way. Something that's widely known about me is that I LOVE villains, both playing as or against them. Also I guess I should mention that I almost exclusively write cis female characters, and do gravitate towards the MXF pairing. There are always exceptions of course, but it's what the general majority of my plots center around, so I apologize in advance if that offends anyone.
(Complicated relationships between problematic/toxic characters and the power imbalances between them is my thing.)
Other hobbies that I enjoy besides writing include health and beauty, pop culture, fashion, video games and travel (moreso researching various places I'd love to visit someday). Feel free to message me if you'd ever just like to chat about any of the above. I'm always open to making new friends and acquaintances.
Anyway, I think that's everything that's relevant for the moment. Looking forward to meeting and writing with everyone in the near future!
