Hey everybody! My name is article. Just call me Art for short. If you're wondering about my profile picture, I picked Arty Smartypants from Between the Lions because it just fits my username. I am based on the West Coast in the US, so I'm PST. I don't want to say how old I am, but I will say that my birthday will be soon. I am over 18. That is all I will say ;)

I've been writing in my spare time. Mainly poetry. When it comes to roleplaying, I've been writing on and off for over a decade. I'm looking to grow as a writer, so I'm always looking to improve my prose. To keep this section brief, I tend to write multi-paragraphs, and I strive to be Advanced-Lit to Novella. I personally don't believe in the idea that the word count and the number of paragraphs equivocally make great writing. To me, writing is a paradox where there are rules and no rules at the same time. I don't necessarily have a favorite genre, but I always like to try out new settings and genres.

fun facts
Here are some fun facts about me:

• I watch a lot of sports. Primarily basketball, football (soccer), baseball, hockey, and American football. Ask me about my favorite teams because they're all over the place
• Outside of writing, I listen to a variety of different music genres. Right now, I am on an alternative R&B and jazz binge
• One of my favorite classes when I was in college was called "Postmodernism and Metamodernism." I enjoyed reading some works from Bret Easton Ellis, David Foster Wallace, etc.
• Big fashion head :) I thrift often. I also love photography

I just want to say that it's a pleasure to be here, and I can't wait to make new friends and learn from others. I am unsure about the prefixes for the intro threads here, so I went with Lord because Lord Article sounds cool. Second! I bet you're wondering how to start Role Playing and where to go! I think it's pretty fun to explore the forums, and I highly recommend doing so! Most thread homes, if not all, have a pinned post at the top of them to tell you what goes there!

However, the Request Threads are pretty self explanatory; Here's a Link! There's plenty to look through, but you could also build your very own! Tell people what you're all about and get those writing partners! Take your time though; there's never any pressure! My advice for Newcomers:

Read the rules.
Read a few Request threads ( RT) .
Make your own RT.
Explore the site, discover it has a ton of resources to make your stuff look cool .
Go back redesign your RT.
With regards to request threads, remember sometimes is as important to say what you really do NOT want as well as what you do.
If you are stuck , drop by chat or look for names in staff colours. Green , Blue or Purple.
