Cheers!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: He is a tall, lean, and mysterious young man of around 25 summers. His eyes glow with crimson light at all times, and his body is as close to physical perfect as one can get. His shoulders are broad and taper down in a classic "V" shape to his waist, and he walks with his back straight and head held high with the utmost confidence in his abilities. Because he has next to no body fat his various muscle groups are easily identified and singled out from one another when and if he is seen with little to no clothing. In fact it's so much so that one can sometimes even see individual muscle fibers when they get close enough... If they get close enough.
Name: Shadow (no birth name is known to have been given by his mother, so the Grandmaster of Te'i Sai called him Shadow and that became as good a name as any as far as he was concerned)
Age: Unknown (25)
Sex: Male
DOB: Undisclosed Date (Only the Grandmaster of Te'i Sai knows), year 574 M.E. (Modern Era)
Birthplace: Roda Valley, Cre' Est
Height: 6' 2" (~188 cm)
Weight: 190 lb. (~86 kg)
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Original Eye Color Unknown, Current Eye Color: Crimson
Ethnicity: Falthruan (Caucasian)
Body Type: Mesomorph
Voice Type: Baritone
Personality: The Red-Eyed Demon is a calm and unassuming, though incredibly vicious individual. He will move with calm swiftness and speak in a calm and controlled tone of voice, but at the same time he will look you in the eye as he slices you from your groin to your neck effectively cleaving your body into two distinct halves. He has little in the way of remorse and cares nothing for the lives of others save for the literal handful of people whom he has allowed into his circle. If a child he didn't know bumped into him on the street, he'd snap the child's neck without a second thought and continue walking as if nothing happened.
However, he does have a softer side though it is reserved for those few mentioned previously. Around them, and around them only, he is a curious, inquisitive, and very blunt individual. He doesn't know how to lie, as he never had a reason to in the first place at any time of his life, so he tells them the honest truth even when he knows it's not what they want to hear. For example Linde, the beauty of the group, asked if there was anything about her body that he liked the most (as a way of testing his sexuality and sexual preferences). His answer left her confused and more than a little flustered. "I like your hands because they're highly dextrous, perfect for using blades or fighting empty handed in close quarters."
Strengths:
* Unimaginably powerful (can lift and throw objects in excess of 3.5 tons in weight)
* Fastest reaction time in the world (5 milliseconds)
* Can sprint a mile in 34 seconds(105 mph/170 kph)
* Heals from injuries almost 8x faster than a normal human
* Can leap a gap of over 50' (~15m) from a standstill, and almost 80' (~24m) at a sprint
* Incredibly perceptive
* Human lie detector (he can hear your heartbeat and smell your pheromones at any given time when within around 6.5' (~2m))
* Can speak the ancient language of the Assassins (Hrit'h Ma)
* Feared by all
Weaknesses:
* No formal education (he knows only how to be an Assassin)
* No knowledge of socially acceptable behavior (he will stand out in a crowd if allowed to wander about)
* Can't stop his eyes from glowing
* Very little emotional control
* Long-Term thinker, and he sometimes overlooks or loses sight of the major details that are important in the short term
* Craves violence, even with his "friends" though he keeps it to a very, very controlled minimum to avoid hurting them too badly or beyond their ability to recover naturally from it during and after training
* Feared by all
Greatest Strength and Weakness: Roda I'l Lousta (Demon's Blood Lust)
Roda I'l Lousta was born during his training as a child. Having been literally tortured into the perfect killing machine, the scent of his blood and that of his peers and instructors always surrounded him and soaked into his clothing. The constant scent became as a drug to him and acted as a calming agent setting his mind and body into a peaceful sleep-like state when not on the training floor.
He has now been separated from the combined scents for many years thanks to his advance in prowess to the point where he stopped receiving injuries. Today when he is exposed to the scent of his own blood and that of someone else, it acts as a catalyst triggering a relapse into that same calm and sleep-like state of mind. This state is what allows the Demon, who's spirit has fully rejuvenated, to take temporary control of his body and do what it was born and summoned to this realm to do: slaughter all living creatures in its sight without mercy.
It is indiscriminate, uncaring, unflinching, unrelenting, and utterly unstoppable...
Training History: The Red-Eyed Demon was trained by the Grandmaster of Te'i Sai himself. Every facet of the life of an Assassin, down to the smallest detail, was beaten and tortured into the child from the day he learned to walk at 4 months and 6 days into his life. The first few years saw little progress due to how young and underdeveloped his body was, but by the time he turned 4 years old the child was becoming much more adept at adapting to the training and the torturing. He'd already become highly desensitized to pain and no longer cried or so much as grimaced when damage was inflicted in a minor or moderate degree, though more severe injuries warranted a reaction.
He received the Te'i Sai concoction at age 3, and his body had a hyper-receptive reaction to it enhancing its already miraculous and potent effects.
The first things he was taught during his time after receiving the concoction included the following, all of which he mastered by age 7 thanks to his prodigious talent and photographic memory:
* How to move while generating as little sound as possible
* Identifying and targeting all major muscle groups
* Identifying and targeting all major arteries
* Name, placement, and weaknesses of every bone in the human body
* The nervous system pathways and major nerve clusters
* Basic psychology
* Basic CPR (unused, but learned)
By age ten he was a full fledged Assassin, and already considered one of the Elite members despite his youth which generated a lot of animosity and jealousy from his peers. A few challenged him to test whether or not he really was everything the Grandmaster said he was, and out of the 30 some odd members who challenged him only 2 escaped with their lives due to the Grandmaster's interference. Had he not interfered, the Red-Eyed Demon would have killed them as well. By age 12 he was no longer being challenged by anyone, and in place of the previous feelings of animosity and jealousy was pure unbridled fear. A child of twelve was now a Master Assassin with abilities beyond what even his peers could achieve as fully grown adults, and he would only get stronger as his body grew from there.
Come age 15 the legend of the Red-Eyed Demon, a youthful Assassin sporting eyes aglow with crimson light, was born and already in full effect. He was then taught to use his reputation to his advantage as well as by then having received all the rest of the information he'd ever need to function and succeed in his missions:
* How to use the environment, fear, paranoia, greed, and love to his advantage when hunting his victims
* How to identify the most important targets and any perceived chain of command
* How to infiltrate any facility no matter how fortified
* Herbology
* Basic politics
* All manner of strategies of war
* Hand-to-hand, weapons, and ranged combat methods (all of which he perfected and maximized for greatest effect discarding anything that was fluff or flash)
* How to disappear when his mission was complete
And thus the Red-Eyed Demon became the perfect killer. Powerful, merciless, and unstoppable...
Biography: The Red-Eyed Demon was born on May 12, 574. His birth was meant to be a momentous occasion for a cult worshipping the Demons of the Nether Realm, and his body was meant to become the vessel for one such Demon to enter their mortal world. The Demon's arrival would be celebrated by all followers of the cult, but their wishes of seeing a Demon rise were shattered when the sacred ritual was interrupted by the Grandmaster of Te'i Sai, the largest and most organized Assassin organization in the world.
But why the Grandmaster of Te'i Sai?
The ritual was performed in the mountains of Roda Valley where the Assassins of Te'i Sai made their home, and thus the Grandmaster's daily meanderings chanced to bring him into contact with the ritual during the height of the ceremony. Being no fool, he recognized the importance and danger of the ritual's success and thus interceded. Slaughtering all save the infant and his mother, he spared her life and hers alone before taking the child with him back to the Mountain Fortress. At first he didn't know what to do with the child, but upon discovering the infant's inhuman strength for one newly born and seeing the glow of those crimson red eyes he saw new potential in the boy and decided to train him as an Assassin of Te'i Sai.
Early on it became apparent that the boy was special, and not just because of the Demon's presence. The boy's intellect was above average, proven by his ability to walk by the age of four months and his demonstration of advanced special awareness and problem solving skills. For a boy of only four or five months, he was nearly on par intellectually with a child of four or five years. He lacked only finer muscle control and the ability to speak. At the age of three he was given the Te'i Sai concoction, and his body had a hyper-receptive reaction enhancing its already miraculous effects on his mind and body... Within days, the legends of the Red-Eyed Demon were well underway.
On his tenth birthday he was inducted into the organization by the Grandmaster of Te'i Sai as an official Assassin, and this did not go over well with his peers and fellow Assassins. Because of his youth and the lack of belief in the Grandmaster's word that the child deserved his place the Demon was challenged regularly by his peers. Several Assassins challenged him during his training to a bout where the loser was the first to admit defeat. However, because the Demon viewed death as the admission of defeat, several of his challengers lost their lives before the organization seemed to get the message that the Grandmaster's word about the child and his inhuman prowess was worth listening to.
The nail in the coffin to the whispers and doubts came when the boy, then twelve years old, was challenged by a Master Assassin who was gutted and skinned before the Red-Eyed Demon was through. There were hundreds of witnesses to this challenge, and thus the myth of the Red-Eyed Demon's prowess came to an end and was accepted as fact.
As the boy grew, so to did his rebellious nature as a teenager and sub-adult. By the time he was sixteen he was a typical teenager despite his training and his discipline as an Assassin. He questioned authority, ignored orders, and went about missions his way rather than by the plan laid out by the Grandmaster. But all of this came to a head when he directly challenged the Grandmaster during a meeting for a very important mission as well as battle against Roda Ah K'mht. This challenge led to his being banished for one year from the organization as punishment, though this didn't really affect him very much and in fact he preferred being on his own.
However...
As with all teenagers, hormones will rage.
The Red-Eyed Demon met Iris Di' Nelma when he was seventeen years old. She too was seventeen and working as a maid to the Di' Nelma family, having been accepted as one of their own for her sweet and charming personality and her love for the family. She was carrying a bag of groceries back home when she bumped into him on the street by accident and she fell to the ground. The groceries spilled on the ground and she looked to him with irritation and held her hand out to him. When he didn't take her hand to help her to her feet, she chided him for his lack of manners and demanded his help. Having never taken the time to actually speak to a woman before, he was intrigued and went along with her out of curiosity. Helping her to her feet and carrying her groceries by her demand, he walked along behind her watching the differences between himself and her.
The curves of her body were having an effect on him, as well as the tone and quality of her voice. The other big shock was that she knew exactly who he was, yet she treated him like a normal person and not a Demon as everyone else did. This was all so new and unfamiliar that he could not resist the temptation to learn more, and so he continued to meet her and go along with her for daily chores and outings while ensuring nobody saw his eyes... A difficult task. But he managed, and within weeks he was rather attached to her and she him. In fact she became quite smitten with the young man for his curiosity and endearing sense of interest in all things mundane and "normal" about life in Cre' Est.
However there was one who did not see things this way, and it was the Grandmaster of Te'i Sai. His spies who kept track of the Demon took note of the effect she was having, and the Grandmaster ordered her to be put to death. But not just any death. She was to be killed by a special blend of poisons prepared by his own hand. They were tasteless, odorless, and carried no visible signs of effect on the body. It was slow and relatively painless, but entirely incurable. The poison was administered on September 23, 591, and by the time the Red-Eyed Demon had managed to beat the truth out of his fellow Assassins it was far too late. He raced to Iris' side, but found her bedridden and too weak to do more than speak.
However, her speech was all she needed to reach him one last time. On September 28, 591, Iris and the Red-Eyed Demon had their final heart-to-heart chat. She revealed the extent of her fondness for him despite his reputation, and that she believed against all other expectations that he could be a truly positive force in the world if he only would focus his efforts on more constructive outlets than assassination. She also told him of her dreams. She dreamed of one day marrying a man much like him and settling down in a cozy little cabin at the edge of the forest raising two or three children. However she knew she was dying and that this dream would never become reality, and so she asked the impossible of him... She asked him to be the one to end her life.
At 8:35pm, September 28, 591... Iris Di' Nelma passed away peacefully in her sleep by the hand of the Red-Eyed Demon. He applied pressure to her neck to put her to sleep, and then let drop his Orichalcum blade through the gaps in her ribs cleaving her heart in two and assisting her in passing on to the arms of the Gods she loved so much without further suffering.
The Red-Eyed Demon returned to Roda Valley in the dead of night during a powerful typhoon, standing on the edge of a cliff contemplating his suicide at the loss of his one and only friend. However, the first tears he'd ever shed in his life for the loss of another would not be wasted. Her dream would become a reality through him. He would fight the odds and the legacy and legends he'd created and someday find someone willing to see him as a person rather than a Demon, and settle down once he'd destroyed both Te'i Sai and Roda Ah K'mht who were the only ones capable of standing in the way of this dream. He would find a way to discover what it meant to be a normal person and live out his life for her, but first he had work to do.
It would take several years of planning and careful execution before he took the first major step in the process of destroying Te'i Sai: the execution of the Grandmaster and his second in command. The date was September 28, 597, when the Grandmaster's life came to an end at the hands of the Red-Eyed Demon who gave him The Pledge that all the Grandmaster had worked for would be undone and that the Demon would regain the humanity stolen from him.
It has been two years since that fateful day, and the date is now October 3, 599. The coming of a new Century is upon the world, and Cre' Est prepares now for the festival of the Gods to welcome the new year and Century. But will the festival and turn of the Century bring new peace and prosperity as hoped, or will it bring more bloodshed than ever before as what was once a silent and hidden war becomes public and indiscriminate?
Only the Gods know... And the Red-Eyed Demon.
Cheers!!
