CURRENT IDEAS AND STORIES
These are various ideas I am interested in playing, along with a few tags, themes, and keywords relevant to them. These are meant to be jumping off points and generally are not set in stone. That said, for many of them if you remove or alter certain elements they can lose the part that made them interesting to me, so I can't promise that everything is up for alteration.
These are only meant to give a sense of some specific ideas, and are not the only things I am open to playing!

━━ Welcome ━━
Hello lovely reader and welcome to my search thread! I am looking for partners for a variety of potential roleplays, both in long-form and episodic style, to make new friends, or to simply brainstorm and create anew (or anything in-between). If anything in this thread sounds interesting, I encourage you to message me.
Who are you, how long have you been writing and what kind of things do you like to write?
You can call me Kate or Cactus...or really any variation thereof. I have been roleplaying off and on for around fifteen or so years.
How long do your replies tend to be and what is your writing schedule like?
I tend to aim for the 300-1000 word response and I don't like to confine myself to a set number of sentences for paragraphs. If the characters are just bantering, maybe it's even below 300. I tend to try to match my partner.
I try to reply at least a few times a week depending on how busy life is, and don't mind at all a nudge if it's been a few days.
Do you write sexual content? If so, what are your kinks? Limits?
Absolutely. That said, I generally want to have at least some story with the smut. I don't mind if the ratio of smut:story gets to be 60:40 or even 70:30 in some cases, as long as we have some underlying narrative and are moving our story somewhere.
As for kinks and limits, please see that tab, but I'm pretty depraved so it's unlikely anything is going to shock me. That said, I don't demand extremely kinky stuff in RP; certainly won't be disappointed if we include it, but I am also mainly looking for writing partners and story (even if very smutty story). I also tend to somewhat think of my characters as having their own kinks, so some may or may not get played based on the character.
What's your tolerance for gore/violence?
Generally speaking very high. I have no problem if characters fight, or even injure each other, even during sexual scenes to a point. That said I find it a turn off if the gore/violence itself is the kink. That is, if gore/violence is there a part of the relationship or interaction, great! If it is sexual in itself, not so great. Hopefully that makes sense. Happy to discuss if it doesn't.
Do you have any pairing or setting ideas?
Right now I am really into the following, but they aren't exclusive. I should note that I tend to prefer FxF pairings. I've warmed up to FxM and even some MxM pairings but I have to warn upfront that I am very picky about them (and I've been told my M's tend to be fairly feminine):
Vampire [M/C] x Vampire [Y/C]
Vampire [M/C] x Werewolf [Y/C]
Vampire [M/C] x Other Supernaturals [Y/C]
Royal [M/C] x Bodyguard (secretly lover) [Y/C]
Deposed Royal [M/C] x Captor/Enemy Ruler/Distant Ruler [Y/C]
Apocalypse Survivor x Apocalypse Survivor
*Note re: Vampires/Werewolves/etc.: World of Darkness ("WoD") was my introduction to supernatural and urban horror, so I tend to start with that as a baseline and work from there. I am happy to make changes and don't have a particular need to hold WoD's setting or rules, but I tend to use them as the baseline for how various supernaturals work and what they are capable of. Absolutely happy to branch or diverge from them, but would want to talk about it so we are not making any mistaken assumptions.
Do you have any detailed plots prepared?
See below!
Do you roleplay fandoms?
Generally yes, though I have a strong preference that the rules/canon of the fandom come second to our ideas, and I am not interested in playing opposite canon characters as main characters in the plot, though they can show up as supporting cast. I have had some negative experiences with fandom in the past so I might also be slightly wary. The fandoms I am comfortable playing in are:
- A Song of Ice and Fire
- Potterverse (This one is complicated because I am extremely uncomfortable with who Rowling has become, but the setting was a cornerstone of my childhood and it's hard to give up completely. If we play this, I would strip out as much of Rowling as possible, leaving only the basic setting intact. Hogwarts would be a universty, for example)
- World of Darkness
- Bridgerton
- The Elder Scrolls

PREFERENCES & WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM ME
◆ First and foremost, anything you find in "What I Expect From You" you can and should expect from me. I will never hold my partners to a standard I do not meet.
◆ When I mark something as "FxF" or "MxF" etc. I only mean in terms of the characters involved, I have no restrictions as to the gender identity or sex of my writing partner.
◆ LGBTQIA+ friendly.
◆ I prefer not to double; since I almost only play OC x OC, I would prefer to structure the RP so that we are both getting what/who we want. That said, I love having extensive supporting casts, and am happy to involve them.
◆ I like developing the worlds we play in, and love introducing lots of side and supporting characters for ours to interact with. Once I get my teeth into a world I will think about it constantly, and love creating and suggesting new things to fit in.
WHAT I EXPECT FROM YOU
◇ Someone looking for a long-term roleplay who is interested in building characters and worlds. While not required, I am always looking for friends to create and share with.
◇ I want a partner that is as engaged in the ideas as I am, and is also interested in my ideas.
◇ Communication; if at all possible tell me if you aren't going to be available or need a break, we all do sometimes! If something isn't working, I would love to know as well.
◇ RL comes first. If RL has left you wiped out and unable to RP that's perfectly understandable, and I hope to be afforded the same consideration. If you want to break off for a while, that's all you need to say. Just let me know if I should check-in later on, or if you want to reengage when you are ready.
◇ If you have a specific kink you are looking to explore, please tell me up front. A few times now I've started talking about what I thought was story or character-driven RP with someone only for it to become clear they want to focus a specific kink. I don't appreciate this; it feels deceptive. If you are looking to highlight a specific kink, I'd really appreciate it be said upfront, like "I was wondering if you would be interested in a smut-driven roleplay emphasizing [insert kinks]?" -
In General
- Original OC x OC; sadly I am generally not interested in playing with canon characters.
- Some amount of a romantic element, but it should be accompanied by an ongoing story between our characters. I enjoy angst and drama too, but I also want to get to play out sappy, satisfying moments for characters.
- I tend to prefer FxF (trans and NB welcome), but sometimes am okay with FxM for some pairings, which has expanded lately.
- My favorite settings are below, but I enjoy many others and am happy to discuss ideas outside of these:
- Modern Supernatural (e.g. inspired by World of Darkness, Underworld, Supernatural, etc.)
- Alternate-reality Modern (our world, but with some things changed)
- Historic (ideally pre-0 CE or between approx. 1800-1925)
- Alternate History (same as above, but different!)
- Low-magic Antiquity Fantasy (Ancient Greece or Rome basically)
- Low-magic Medieval Fantasy
- Modern Post-Apocalypse
- I generally prefer original settings or carving out our own niche in an existing one.
-
My kinks and limits; still a WIP.
Yes - Always happy to include
Maybe - Usually just want to clarify some details first. Just ask!
No - What it says on the tin

FATE OF A DEPOSED ROYAL
Royal [M/C] x Conqueror or Foreign Ruler [Y/C], Historical, Medieval/Antiquity Fantasy, Low Magic, Slow burn
A young royal woman has been deposed and must try to survive her new circumstances. (Most desired storyline!) -
Setting ‧ Medieval or Antiquity Fantasy
Characters
- Deposed Royal [M/C] - A member of a royal house whose kingdom has collapsed; she might have been a young queen or a princess, but the definite part is that her power is gone and she has either been taken captive or sent into exile.
- Captor/Foreign Ruler/etc. [Y/C] - A highly variable role or many roles. Your character could be the ruler that usurps her power, or a foreign ruler of a place she is sent in exile...the options are many.
If you're familiar with the story of Daenerys Targaryen from A Song of Ice and Fire this story is very similar; a young royal is forced to leave her home due to usurpation. Her exact fate can vary; she might have been taken as a wife by whoever deposed her power, maybe she was spirited to far off lands, or maybe she was sold as a slave and must somehow rebuild herself from there. This idea is very open ended; the real key factor is the royal who is no longer such and must make the best of her circumstances. My preference is for her to be very far from home, in lands where she (and any companions with her) are outsiders.
Alternative
If we are open to long-term and really align in our writing and interests, I think it would be fun to combine this with a "Princess x Bodyguard" type where the two are together. In this case, [Y/C] might be the bodyguard (or a similar close confident, an aide, lady in waiting, or even a sibling). If the two are in love, they may have to struggle to keep their relationship even as fate forces them to do things they definitely do not want. Perhaps they even get separated. In this situation, we both might occasionally take on GM/Storyteller roles for each other's respective character. -
NEWLY SIRED VAMPIRE
New Vampire [M/C] x Vampire [Y/C], Modern, Supernatural, Sire [Y/C] x Vampire [M/C], Non-Consensual Siring
An elder vampire sires (or adopts) a fledgling youth and teaches her the ways of the undead -
Setting ‧ Modern day world with supernatural elements inspired mainly by World of Darkness (but that setting is just a starting point and is not required)
Characters
- "Young" Vampire [M/C] (possibly, but not necessarily Calliope Teague) - A relatively young vampire that was recently sired, either by [Y/C] or someone else who is out of the picture for one reason or another.
- "Older" Vampire [Y/C] - A bit more open-ended; the only requirement is they be a vampire and older than [M/C]. Could be also relatively young themselves, or a powerful old elder.
Y/C has decided to sire a "childe" as the vampiric parlance goes, and has spotted a Calliope, a candidate that stands out for a variety of potential reasons. Perhaps Y/C liked the idea of siring an office drone to see what happens, or found her attractive, or perhaps wants someone to help them earn loads of cash. Perhaps a combination of all three, or a host of other reasons. Regardless, one night when Calliope finally decides to go out to have fun, your character strikes. Maybe the siring happens that night, or maybe they have a few encounters before it happens, but soon enough Calliope joins the ranks of the undead, and Y/C helps guide her along. Alternatively, your character for various reasons decides to take Calliope under their wing after she is sired, perhaps her original sire died shortly after, or was killed for the act. -
VAMPIRE AND THE BEAST
New Vampire [M/C] x Werewolf [Y/C], Modern, Supernatural, Vampire [M/C] x Werewolf [Y/C], Enemies to Lovers
A vampire and werewolf, mortal enemies, fall in love. -
Setting ‧ Modern day world with supernatural elements inspired mainly by World of Darkness
Characters
- "Young" Vampire [M/C] (possibly, but not necessarily Calliope Teague) - A relatively young vampire who is trying to navigate the world of the supernatural and finds herself enamored with one of her kind's traditional enemies.
- Werewolf [Y/C] - Fairly open-ended provided they are a werewolf of some kind.
Vampires versus werewolves, a tale as old as time...or at least the 80's. A relatively young vampire navigating her kind's presence in a major city, while [Y/C] is a werewolf doing largely the same for theirs. The two sides could be embroiled in a cold turf war when Calliope and [Y/C] meet. Now they have to make difficult decisions; will they hide their relationship for fear their respective sides will reject them, or will they be open about it and face whatever challenges come their way.
Alternate
In alternate variations of the story, [Y/C] might not be a werewolf, but might be some other kind of shifter, or perhaps a "beast" (ala Beauty and the Beast) who is permanently trapped in that form. -
LOVE AT THE END OF THE WORLD
Survivor x Survivor, Modern, Post-Apocalypse, Survivor x Survivor, Survival, Slow-burn
A pair of post-apocalyptic survivors find love in a hostile world. -
Setting ‧ Modern day after an apocalyptic event that has completely devastated most civilization.
Characters
- Survivors [Y/C]/[M/C] - Fairly open ended, two characters that are trying to make it in the world after the end.
- [Others TBD] - Nothing prevents us from having other characters involved, or from forming a polycule amongst them.
Our story begins with the world ending; [M/C] and [Y/C] manage to survive the initial collapse of society and find themselves just tying to stay alive. From there the story is quite open-ended. They will ideally face struggles as simple as finding food and water, to move complicated issues when they encounter other groups of survivors. Will they join these groups? What happens if those groups collapse? The only constant will be their feelings, and how eventually they end up together again. As with many of these stories, some of the most dangerous antagonists should be other humans.
The exact nature of the apocalypse is not set in stone, but I lean towards zombies, cliche as they are, because it creates an ongoing barrier to rebuilding civilization and means the world is always going to be hostile.
The hope I have is that this story will feature a large supporting cast, and with both of us occasionally taking on a somewhat "storyteller" type role where we are guiding the characters through a plotline.
