Hey! I'm rana. I am gril, co-owner of a ginger cat with one braincell, and resident of Britain. I've a keen interest in music, and used to play the violin, though I don't have much motivation for that recently. I've been writing since my teenage years, and I'm currently 28, 29 next year. I used to write a lot on a different site; since then I've been trying to write my own stuff for a couple of years. However, I enjoy collaborative writing too much to stay away.
I enjoy writing fantasy mainly, as well as sci-fi. I'm not so comfortable with other genres as I don't have as much experience writing these - but I like to think I'm fairly flexible!
How long do your replies tend to be, and what is your writing schedule like?
Several paragraphs usually. I tend to feed off what the other person is writing. My writing schedule is weekends, and my lunch break during work. Occasionally on my way home on the bus. Sometimes I can be pretty speedy, sometimes not so much. I usually try to communicate with my RP pardner if I'm going to be away for a while though.
What is your tolerance level for gore? Violence?
Fairly high, and willing to test the limits!
Do you write sexual content?
Nope, I do not. Romance and flirting is okay, but only if it builds up naturally between characters.
Do you have any pairing or setting ideas?
I do! I'm trying to get back into the swing of things, so I'm looking for someone to do a short-ish RP with me (if anyone's willing), based on :
The setting - you're dreaming, but the dream world you're in is different to normal. You feel lucid, awake, despite knowing inherently that your body is sleeping. The dream world feels like it isn't actually your dream, like it belongs to someone else. However, as you explore, you discover that your actions are causing strange ripples in the very fabric of this peculiar world. Are there monsters lurking in this fantastical place? Or is it just your imagination? And is there someone here with you?
Do you have any detailed plots prepared?
My idea is to have a fantasy-esque dreamscape where our two characters meet, get into some kind of scenario/difficulty, and have to figure out how to wake themselves back up. The idea is that the dream is actively working against us to keep us sleeping, whether that's locking us in an inescapable room, or sending monsters after us, or making us unable to talk or use our limbs or whathaveyou. However, we also have the ability to manipulate the dream world, whether that be with magic, or physically, or with interfaces that we conjure. That's about the long and short of it! I just want to see where the story takes us.
Do you have any characters you want to write?
I'll either want to write my character Ssanya, or just make a new character for this. Happy to decide in PMs if anyone's interested.
Any additional notes you want to add?
If anyone likes some aspect of this idea, but not others, please let me know. I'm fairly amenable to change things up.
Or, if anyone wants to write about anything else, hit me up!
