"Don't do it." The taunting sound of Megan from the kitchen caused David to stop what he was doing.

"Do what?" He called back his hand having been reaching for the remote, having almost sat down on the couch intent on watching the ball game but that warning tone in his wife's voice caused him to stop.

"David I swear if you sit down and start up that T.V. I'm going to drop this dirty dish towel on you." She said causing him to freeze and stand up a bit taller.

"How the Hell..."

"You remember the thing you told the kids about mom having eyes in the back of her head?" She interrupted knowing what it was that he was going to ask before he finished, "Apparently it counts for husbands as well."

David found himself standing awkwardly in the living room not entirely sure what to do. The ball game would be starting up and he didn't want to miss it but if he sat down and turned it on he'd have to deal with the rage of his wife. The only way he could think to get out of this situation was to get her to relax, "You know the kids are gonna be with my parents all weekend." He offered waiting a moment with bated breath.

"I do and we have a lot of things we can do before they get home." She said, always a busy body it was hard to get her to calm down. There was one thing that he knew he could do to get her to at least sit down for a minute.

"What if I put on the bachelorette?" He asked waiting and hoping she'd take the bait. He could hear the water turn off as his beloved wife came to the door frame a glass baking dish in hand as she eyed him. She was wearing an over sized T-shirt, his college one actually, and a pair of those yoga shorts he loved to see her in.

"Is this bribe mister?" She asked causing him to smile.

"No-" He said feigning innocents by placing his hands to his chest as he smiled knowing he at least had her attention, "The bribe." He said wiggling his eyebrowss, or attempting to since he couldn't actually do so it just looked awkward and she loved it all the more because of that, "Is that if a certain beautiful wife of my comes and lays on the couch, puts her feat up on the coffee table... I'll go to the store, and get her...." There was a moment of contimplation as he realized he needed to make it good. Her brow raised as if questioning where he was going with this and he covered his floundering by stating, "Pause for affect."

"I'm loosing my pause buttons." She told him though had a smile that said she thought he was being cute to say the least.

"Vanilla ice cream and Heath bars and I'll make you milk shakes." He told her, she about moaned just off the pure bliss of how good that actually sounds, "Yeah?" He asked nodding his head and smiling thinking he'd won this little interaction, "No kids asking where there's is... Mom could eat straight out of the tub if she wanted to." He added as he took a tenative step over, removing the baking pan from her hands.

"How did I get so lucky to get a man like you?" She asked him releasing the pan to his hands.

"You stepped on a duck." He told her quoting the punchline to her dads favorite joke causing her to laugh, slapping his chest slightly.

"Shut up. You are not ugly." She told him and when he leaned down she kissed him softly on the lips before turning to go to the couch, pausing as she saw a book on the coffee table, "David?" She questioned looking back towards where her husband had vanished. He poked his head back in with a smile.

"Yes my love?" He asked her trying not to look too guilty as she picked up the book and showed it to him, "what is that?" He asked with the heaviest sarcasm she had ever heard, "Is that the book that you wanted to read but didn't have time to because of all of the kids stuff?" He asked as he came back in with a bottle of wine and a wine glass. A smile on his face as she fingered threw the book.

"I love you." She told him as he smiled down to her giving her the glass before pouring her a good sized glass.

"I know how to keep my book worm happy." He told her.

"I think I might just keep you around... Even if your a smart ass." She said though in that moment she fell a little bit more in love with him. David felt very accomplished as he picked up the remote and plopped back down, just as he turned on the T.V. he heard her call, "But you still owe me a Heath milkshake."
