Hidden Island
Twenty year old Claire is a graphic designer living with her younger brother. They live in a large cabin, which is in the mountains, surrounded by trees. Near their home is a wide lake, which has a pier. Claire has always told her brother to never go near the pier without her due to it being dangerous, it's old planks could break easily under anyone's weight. The one morning she decides to sleep in, her brother runs outside to play; he runs to check out the pier near the lake. In her slumber, she hears her father tell her the bedtime story he'd told her when she was little,
"In another world of the universe, where warriors used spears, words, shields, and clubs, there was a beast god. His name was The Wolf and he wished to feed. Ode, the first god, did not want his precious mortals to die so he fought with the beast. After many years, Ode knew that he wouldn't be able to beat The Wolf physically, so he decided to strike a bargain with him. 'Mighty Wolf, I wish to bargain!' He said. The Wolf stopped in his attack and told him to continue. 'If I allow you to feed upon the children of another realm, Earth, would you leave my word be?' The beast thought about this and agreed, saying, 'I accept.' With that, The Wolf left the word and found himself at the new one, Earth. There were plenty of children to feast upon and since he was the size of three mountains combined, he knew that he would be worshiped. Every fifty years The Wolf was assorted a new servant, one of them being the most famous of legends and his name was Erik. The Terrible Erik, as his name was known, would take naughty children away from their families and sacrifice them to the mighty Wolf god. After every week, of the first sunrise of every week, the children would be eaten by The Wolf. ...Ah, Claire. Do not be afraid. You've been a good girl this year so you won't have to be taken away by the Terrible Erik!"
With that, Claire's eyes opened and she stretched and yawned, mumbling, "Well, that was weird... I haven't had that dream in years." Standing, she got herself a quick cup of coffee and yelled for her brother. She wasn't surprised when she didn't hear a reply; he was probably playing outside. Quickly finishing her cup of coffee, she slipped on some warm clothing, put on her coat, scarf, and toboggan. She put her backpack on before bending down to zip up her brown boots. "Okay... Time to find bro," she stated walking outside. Claire walked around the trails that led in different directions from her house, checked the tree house and finally came to a stop. "Where on earth could he be..?" She asked herself as she made her way down the trail that led to the lake.
What she saw made her heart stop and her blue eyes widened. Her little brother was being taken by some people in black cloaks! "Hey! Let go of my brother!" She screamed as she darted down the trail, bending over some to scoop up a rock. At the sound of her voice, the cloaked figures' heads looked up as did her brother's. "Claire!" He yelped as he was lifted into the old, wooden boat, struggling to get out of one of the cloaked figure's grasp. "I said to let him go!" She yelled as the other two quickly got in the boat and the one in the front began to paddle. She forced her legs to run quicker and she threw the rock, hitting one of the figures in the head. It was male by the way he'd yelled in pain and Claire didn't stop running. When she reached the end of the pier and used all her might for jump and she successfully landed on the side of the boat, her body being dragged in the lake. Huffing, Claire be nag to pull herself up into the boat, demanding, "Give me back my brother, you bastards!"
The man holding her brother began speaking, but she couldn't understand the language he spoke. Soon after the sentence had left his lips, Claire's eyes had left her brother's face to find the man closest to her, his face bleeding from where the rock had hit above his brow, bright down a fist onto her nose. Her consciousness soon left her as her body hit the water, the last thing she heard was the sound of her brother's faded voice. Lids shot open to reveal blue orbs and Claire sat up. Pain filled her head and she gripped her nose with a groan. Her fingers rubbed over the died blood, which was all around her nostrils. She looked down at her feet, which were caked with mud, rhe water slapping against them. The young woman stood, and cupped her hands around her mouth, yelling, "Will!" The panic rose in her throat as she gazed out into the lake, not seeing anything. Her red brows lifted and her eyes began to water as she ran up and down the bank of the lake, realizing that her only family had been taken away. The sun was then in midair when she finally fell to her knees, allowing the built up tears to fall down her face. "Will!" She screamed over and over again before finally standing and headed back to the house.
Claire called the police and they began a search. However, they weren't able to find any trace of footsteps besides her own and they couldn't find the boat she'd described. That had been two days ago. It was late the night of the second day and Claire had decided to walk back outside and her eyes narrowed a bit when she saw a light. The light was by the pier. Her heart leapt in her chest and she began to creep down the trail and she spotted the same three cloaked figures, this time bringing a little girl onto the boat. "No...No way..! Hey! You leave her alone!" She screeched as she began to run towards them, but that point, the boat had already began to move away. Without thinking, she jumped into the lake and swam after them. "Hey-- Where's my brother?! Where are you taking that little girl?!" She yelled, a bit breathless, as she continued to swim. After a while, a thick fog began to surround them and she forced herself to keep swimming, to keep yelling, even after the boat had disappeared.
Claire didn't know how long she'd been swimming, but she'd eventually found herself on the shore of another island. She quickly stood and pulled herself on the large pier and found the boat empty. "What...? Okay, they're gone..." She stated, turning and rushing down a trail with footsteps. "They couldn't have gotten far..." She mused to herself as she quickened her pace. "Don't worry, bro. I'm gonna find you."
Claire, however, didn't realize that she was not only on another island, but in another timezone of Earth. She certainly didn't realize just what she was getting into and that legends and myths were very much true...

Additional Information:
Basic Plot:
If you read all of that, then yay! If not, then here's a plot I have in mind. Claire's brother is kidnapped by three servants of The Wolf god. She follows them after she finds them taking away a little girl and swims across the large lake, finding herself on another island. The island is set back in time, the setting of old Scotland, medieval times, perhaps even the Vikings. Claire's main goal is to find her brother, along with the other lost children.
Your Character:
You're character can be someone from the new island, a blacksmith, warrior, fisherman, maybe one of the servants of The Wolf, or someone else from today's world.
The Island:
This island has been around for many, many millenia. It's setting is set during the times of the Vikings, or old Anglo-Saxon, etc. There are few villages around the island and there are many mountains and it is mainly of forests. There is an area on top of a snowy mountain where there is a lava waterfall, which pours down into the lake. There are no children since The Wolf god has eaten them.
The Creatures/Myths:
The Wolf God:
This being is the shape of a wolf's head, it's entire body made of stone and it is the size of three mountains combined. For some reason, he will only eat human children, since it was the agreement Ode gave to him. If he does not get his sacrifice of the sunrise on every Sunday, then the word will pay dearly with its life. The Wolf will remove itself from its perch on the island and seek to destroy everything.
Terrible Erik:
Terrible Erik was known as one of the Wolf god's servants and he was tasked with stealing away the naughty children from their homes in the villages. For fifty years he forced himself to work for the blasted god and for fifty years his guilt continued to pile up. One day, when finally there were no more children on the island, he traveled on boat across the lake. To both his horror and surprise, he found The Other Place. The Other Place had thousands upon thousands of children! However, he didn't want the Wolf god to know that... It was either the children's lives or the entire world's. After he'd written in his journal about The Other Place, he decided to tell the Wolf that he was done. There were no more children to be found, but the Wolf had already gotten another servant, three more to be exact. With that in mind, Erik had started to throw his journal in the fireplace of his home, but the three servants stopped him from doing so by killing the old man. They took the journal and travelled to The Other Place and have been bringing the Wolf children ever since.
Trolls:
These creatures are as tall as the tress that grow on the island. Much like in old story books, their noses are large and round, her eyes the size of saucers, and their stomachs large in weight. Their arms and legs are a bit skinny, their feet very wide, and at night their eyes are white. It is very hard for them to spot a person at night, unless someone has no light near them.
The Lake Creature:
This creature is large, the size of a small ship at least. Nobody has really been able to see what this creature looks like, however there heave been a few glimpses of it form time to time. In a journal of a deceased fisherman, he wrote that there was a creature with large, white eyes. That there seemed to be a large shell on its back, much like a turtle's, and how it had thin, twig-like fingers that had come up to grab him. Nobody knows if it is dangerous or not, so most try to stay away from the unknown creature.
Barbatha:
There is a section of the island that belongs to a creature named Barbatha. To those who wish to pass through her territory must be wary because she is quick on her feet, her screech sounds like an animal dying, and her claws and teeth are sharper than swords. She will show no mercy to anyone who intrudes on her territory, but to do not fear yet! She does not like the light, so keep your lanterns and torches close, for she will withdraw from her attack if the light faces her. Barbatha is the size of a regular woman, though her back is hunched, and she is very very skinny. Her skin is the color of red, her legs are much like a dog's, and she moves much like a kangaroo. Her fur is grey, which comes from her head an trials down her back, stopping to the middle of her back. Her face resembles much like a bat and her ears are pointed and wide.
The Two Brothers:
There was a tale of two Wolf bothers. One was silver with blue eyes, while the other was black with dark red-orange eyes. Each would prowl around at night, killing almost anything to quench their theist for blood and satisfy their hunger for meat. The two became a legend, known sometimes as The Big Bad Wolf in the fairytale Little Red Riding Hood. However, they soon got put of hand with their killings and Erik had set a spell on them before locking them away deep within a mountain. The silver Wolf would be burned by the light of a blue flame, while the black would be burned by the light of a red flame. Only Erik had the key to the door of their freedom and now they sit beyond the tunnels, waiting for some unfortunate soul to somehow get inside so that they can feast once again.
